28 Day TEATU Teatox

I've never done a teatox before but I've always been intrigued. So when I saw that TEATU were looking for bloggers to try out their 28 day teatox I got in touch with them and they kindly sent me a box*.

The 28 Day TEATU Teatox comes with 2 packs of different tea -

The "Daytime Tea" which you drink every day.

Ingredients:
Green Tea, Cocoa Peel, Spearmint, Green Coffee, Ginseng, Chilli Chai.

The "Night Time Tea" which you have every other night.

Ingredients:
Peppermint, Rooibos, Lavender, licorice, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Senna, Natural Caramel Flavour.

Left: Daytime Tea / Right: Night Time Tea

I liked the fact that the tea was presented in silk bags as it just made them a little more different and seem more luxurious.

I started my Teatu Teatox on a Monday (the same day as I attempted to start my diet again).

The Day Time blend tea took a few days to get used to and I realised that I liked it more when it was almost cold. The best way to describe the taste is that it's like cool mint and I found it to be really refreshing once I got used to it. I tried to drink it around the same time each day too.

The night time tea was definitely not for me. I wasn't keen on the taste, I found it to be quite bitter and overpowering for a drink to have at night before bed. (But I really don't like overpowering teas) I also noticed that after drinking the night time tea, that I was getting headaches a hour or so later or I was waking up with the headaches the next morning. So obviously something in the blend just wasn't agreeing with me, so after about a week or so I decided to stop drinking the night time tea. But I will admit that I'm quite prone to headaches to new and different foods/drinks. I'm quite weird that way. It's like how I'm allergic to apple juice but can still eat apples and I can't drink Galaxy hot chocolate but Galaxy chocolate itself is my favourite chocolate. See what I mean? weird, right?

Anyway moving on....

I know that not drinking the night time tea would more than likely affect the amount of weight I'd lose whilst doing the teatox so when I stepped on the scales, I wasn't expecting a huge loss of weight. But overall I lost 5lbs, which I'm quite happy about as I have had a few things going on in my life during February and I've fallen off the diet wagon more times than I care to remember, if I'm being honest. But I think the 5lb loss is a step in the right direction and any loss is better than no loss.

The 14 Day Teatox is £19.99 and the 28 Day Teatox is £34.99
You can visit the TEATU teatox website here.

Overall I would recommend trying the TEATU teatox, I'm pretty sure if you stick to a balanced diet and exercise then you'll definitely see results (which will be a lot better than mine). If you're unsure whether it's for you then I'd say try out the 14 day teatox first.

  1. I've always wanted to try a teatox for all the benefits etc but I'm not a big tea drinker so not sure what I will make of the tastes. Thanks for the honest review, this might be nice for me to give a go this spring after wanting to do it for so long :).
