Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Cream Review

Today is a little review of two of the Velvet Kiss Lip Creams from Collection. I picked these up because I'd read that they are dupes to the NYX soft matte lip creams which I love.

There's currently 6 Velvet Kiss shades to choose from: Caramel, Cotton Candy, Mango, Rosie, Mulberry, Blackberry and are £2.99 each.

Left: Caramel // Right: Cotton Candy

Caramel is a warm nude shade which is a great every day shade. I was worried it was going to wash me out a little because of me being so pale but thankfully, it doesn't. I think this is a very universal shade for anyone to wear.

I picked up Cotton Candy because I thought it looked like a dupe to one of my favourites from NYX which is the shade Istanbul. But once I got it home and compare them both, it wasn't exactly the same. It is fairy similar though. I think this would be a great pop of colour to wear during Spring/Summer.

They both smell like cake too! which is always a good thing.

They dry to a matte finish and they are definitely moisturising and don't feel too drying on the lips. I always apply a little bit of lip balm before matte lip creams just because I do tend to worry about it cracking and looking patchy on my lips.

The staying power of these lip creams is really good, not as good as NYX but I don't mind reapplying a few times during the day. They don't go patchy either which is great.

Overall, I love both of the shades I picked up. I think I probably prefer the Caramel shade just because it's a great everyday colour to pop on and Cotton Candy is a perfect Spring/Summer shade to wear. I'd definitely buy more in the future.

You can pick them up for £2.99 each at Superdrug and Boots.

Have you tried the Velvet Kiss Lip Creams from Collection yet?
