Beauty Trends I've Loved This Summer *

It's almost time to say goodbye to Summer which in one way I'm happy about because, well Autumn but then I do like Summer because of the lighter nights. For today's post I'm going to be sharing the beauty trends I've been loving this Summer (and will try and incorporate into Autumn if possible too, obvs).

Glitter -
This is something I thought I'd never say, well write is that I've been loving wearing glitter this Summer. Not full on glitter but more of a shimmer/glitter kind of thing. I've been wearing more sparkly eyeshadow, I've been loving my Colourpop Supershock Shadows as they are so pigmented, I only own 2 right now which are Animal and Birthday Cake, they both are so easy to use and long lasting. I've also been wearing glitter on my nails too as it just makes them look a little different and prettier. If you're wondering where professional nail technicians get their amazing kits from, then check out Ellisons.

Bronzed, Dewy Skin
Because I've got oily skin I've always kind of stayed away from the dewy skin look, because of worrying it'll just make me look oilier and shiny. But this year I've decided to try out the dewy, bronzed makeup look and I've been loving it. I've not been going crazy - I've just been using a tiny amount of illuminator in my foundation and using a highlighter and then a little touch of Bronzer just to warm up my pale skin.

"The Hun" Half Up - Half Down Hairstyle

I don't really know if this is classed as a "Beauty Trend" it's obviously more of a hair trend but I thought I'd pop it in here anyway. My go to hairstyle over the Summer has been "The Hun" - half up in a bun and half down. It's really easy to do and works well with my natural hair when I'm having more of a lazy day too. Plus because of my hair is shorter than last Summer, I think it suits my grown out lob haircut, especially with a few added soft curls/waves.

Minimal Makeup (with red lip)
I've also really been liking minimal makeup days, even though I still seem to have to use and 15 products to get the minimal makeup look, I do like it. When I'm having a better skin kind of day (which I'll admit is rare) I've just been using a BB Cream/tinted moisturiser and a bit of concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, mascara and a blush. Sometimes I wear it with my favourite red lipstick right now which is The Body Shop Matte Liquid Lip in the shade Sydney Amaryllis just to give it a bright pop of colour.

Peachy Pink -
Another thing I've been loving over the Summer has got to be wearing more peach shades, I usually gravitate towards more pink shades and products rather than peach shades because I worry about looking orange-y with my pale skin. But I've been wearing quite a few peach shades in everything lately - blushers, lipsticks even highlighters and I actually think they work well for my pale skin too.

So there's my kind of go-to Summer things, I definitely have been getting my use out of the Milani Baked Blusher in the shade Luminoso. What have been your Summer Staples?

  3. I so fee the same about minimal make up. I tell myself I will only use the essentials then still seem to use loads of products. Oh well, at least it LOOKS minimal.

    1. I'm new to Nails Inc but I do like them, I think a few of the ones I have are a little watery but they do stay on well. And I've been loving highlighter this summer too! x
