Natural Satin Lipsticks From Burt's Bees

I'm a huge fan of Burt's Bees and they are definitely one of my all-time favourite brands. I love that they are 100% Natural, cruelty-free and affordable. I've recently been trying out some of their Satin Lipsticks which claim to hydrate and moisture your lips for 8 hours whilst being creamy and lightweight. They are also formulated with moringa and raspberry seed oils and the cute honeycomb packaging is made from 60% recycled materials (and they also look great in an insta flatlay).

I did initially think that these Satin Lipsticks would be quite sheer in colour but actually, they are quite pigmented and buildable. They also look very glossy which I have been loving recently because I seem to have had chapped lips literally since around November last year.

They offer a wide range of shades - 18 to be exact. From nudes, bright pinks and summery corals there's something for everyone.

When I swatched Sunset Cruise* it looked as though it was going to be more of a coral shade but when I wear it, it looks quite pink on my lips but I do still really like it. I'm definitely going to be wearing it a lot when the weather gets warmer and I change up my makeup a little because it literally just screams Spring is here, yay!

Wine Wave* is a gorgeous deep red berry shade which is a perfect shade to wear for the transitional period between Winter and Spring. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Wine Wave if I'm being honest because of me being so pale but because it's a satin lipstick, it's not too bold and "in your face" so I actually think it suits my complexion nicely.

Blush Basin* is probably the shade I've been wearing the most, it's kind of an "my lips but better" shade and again, it's a really lovely colour to wear for the upcoming Spring months. Can you tell that I just want it to be Spring already? lol. I also really like the name, I just think it sounds cute.

Lastly is Suede Splash* which looks like it's going to be a nude shade but because my natural lip colour is quite a deep colour the Suede Splash shade doesn't show up very well on me. It just kind of adds a slight sheen - basically it looks more like a tinted lip balm. But I have been wearing it on more of a minimal makeup day and it's still very pretty.

Overall, I really like these satin lipsticks and I love the packaging. I like that they are just different to the usual drugstore priced lipsticks available. I think because they are more of glossy, moisturising lipstick that the shades adapt to your lips rather than adding a full pop of colour like a matte lipstick. But I do think that they are great for an everyday kind of makeup look. I'm definitely going to take a look at the other shades and maybe pick up a few more to try out.
