Trying Out Laboratoire SVR Skincare

If you've been following and reading my blog for a while then I'm sure you will know by now that I'm a self confessed skincare hoarder. Some people treat themselves to snazzy new bags or shoes when they are feeling low, I treat myself to new skincare products lol. Over the past few weeks I've been trying out some products from Laboratoire SVR who are a french pharmacy and are brand new to the UK. They cater for all skin types from acne prone, eczema, hyper-pigmentation, psoriasis and more.

I've been trying three products from their Sebiaclear range which is specifically for acne-prone and oily skin types and I've also been using their Sensifine Micellar Eye Gel* too.

The products I've been trying from their Sebiaclear range are Mat+Pores*, Cicapeel* and Active*. The Mat+Pores* regulates sebum and tightens enlarged pores whilst mattifying

and moisturising the skin at the same time. I've been using it after cleansing in the morning and I've definitely seen a difference in my skin whilst using it. It also works really well as a makeup base so it's ideal if I'm feeling lazy and can't be bothered to use a primer. I usually find it quite hard to find an moisturiser that works for my skin but this has been working well and I really like that it's not a thick formula so it doesn't feel like it's clogging up my pores.

The Cicapeel* is an anti spot gel which dries out and eliminates any blemishes. I have used it on a few spots and it definitely helped to reduce the spot size and also calm down any redness and irritation. However I did try it on an pesky under the skin hormonal spot and it didn't seem to help which is a shame. But I'm definitely keeping near by to use on normal little breakout type of spots.

I feel like the Active Intensive Care* is quite similar to the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ as it's been made to combat and calm down any spots and blackheads. I feel like it works just the same and helps to reduce any redness and spots whilst also smoothing out areas where enlarged pores are present. Similar to the Effaclar Duo+ it is one of those products that you need to use consistently before you see an noticeable difference. I would say it took about 3 days before my spots had almost all gone away whilst using this.
I'm glad I've actually found something that works just as well as one of my holy grail skincare products and I'll definitely recommend it to people who are looking for something to reduce spots and blackheads. I also prefer the smell of the Active Intensive Care*.

I've also used their Sensifine Micellar Eye Gel a few times too which is basically an eye makeup remover gel and is also suitable for contact lens wearers. I do think that the Micellar Eye Gel is a really nice product and removes my day-to-day eye makeup really well, which is fab. However, because I seem to be programmed to automatically reach for my all-time fave Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover I feel like I have found my go-to eye makeup remover product so I'm going to stick to it and pray it doesn't get discontinued. But I do think that the Sensifine Micellar Eye Gel is a nice makeup remover and I like that it doesn't sting my eyes (which a lot of them tend to do, even when they say they are suitable for the most sensitive skin) and I also like that it's unscented too.
