Glossier Generation G Reformulated Lipsticks

As you may know by now if you follow me on instagram or read my blog often, I'm very much on Glossier bandwagon and have been since last year when they came to the UK. I've tried the majority of products they currently have to offer but the one product range I've wanted to try for a while but haven't is the Generation G Lipsticks. Just because so many people had said that they are very drying on the lips and also that the packaging basically just falls apart. So when I saw that they had reformulated the lipsticks and also upgraded the packaging I had to pick a few shades up (thankfully I had some spare Glossier credit because your girl is broke AF right now lol).

I decided to pick up the shades Cake; a pretty everyday nude, Like; a flush of cool pink and also Jam; a perfect winter berry shade. I think the formula is actually nice, it's not too creamy but not super drying, although I would say it's kind of leaning more towards the drying side. They also all smell nice and according to the Glossier website the scent is Lychee Rose.

With the whole concept of the Generation G lipsticks being sheer and kind of having a blotted lived in look the shades are more on the sheer side but they do build up very easily with a few swipes. Something which I do think is worth a mention is that these are the kind of lipsticks which really show up any dead skin on your lips so make sure you use a lip scrub beforehand if you're planning on wearing one.

I would say that Cake is a little too light for me because I do have quite pigmented natural lips so it doesn't really show up. But I do like Jam which is the perfect winter berry shade which can be built up to more of a bold lip and also Like which is a pretty natural flush of cool pink without looking over the top. Overall, I do think they are nice lipsticks and I would say give them a try. I may actually go back soon and pick the shades Leo and Zip.

  1. Ooo I've been wanting to try out Glossier products for a while now; nice to hear your opinion on these - I think I might give the shade Jam a try.
