8 TV Shows I'm Looking Forward To Watching in 2019

I love nothing more than getting all snug in my bed and catching up or binge watching TV shows with some snacks after having a self-care pamper evening. I've watched so many good TV shows over the past year and there's so many I'm really looking forward to watching in the new year. So I thought I'd talk about which shows I'm most looking forward to watching in 2019.
~This post may contains spoilers so if you see a show you're currently watching on this list and don't want to potentially see spoilers then skip over it~

Killing Eve - Season 2
Do I really need to explain why I'm so excited for season 2 of Killing Eve? If you've already watched the first season yourself then you'll know why after that cliffhanger. If you've not got around to watching Killing Eve yet then stop whatever you're doing and start watching because it's honestly one of the best shows I've watched in such a long time. It's about Eve, a bored stuck at the desk MI5 assistant who becomes obsessed with tracking down psychopathic assassin Villianelle who is hired by people to kill influential people or people who know too much about something. The show travels all about Europe from Italy, France, England and more. I'm not a huge fan of super depressing murder mystery type shows which I know a lot of people like watching but Killing Eve isn't all doom and gloom as it's quite comical too, which is why I like it.

Jane the Virgin - Season 5
I binge-watched Jane The Virgin earlier this year and I loved it so much! It's about Jane - a devoted catholic who is a virgin as you've probably gathered from the title and she's accidentally artificially inseminated at the doctors when she goes from a routine check up. As you can imagine it completely changes everything for her, her detective fiancee and her catholic family. It's even more complicated and insane when the sperm donor is her boss. It did take me a couple of episodes to get properly into it but it's so funny. I'm really looking forward to season 5 but kind of sad because it's the last season. But I want to know what happens next because season 4 ended on a HUGE cliffhanger which will literally change everything.

Game of Thrones - Season 8
I just had to put Game of Thrones on this list because I've been following GoT for years and I can't wait for the next season, even though we have had to wait a whole two years! But I think we all know what's going to happen in the next season with Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen and I really want to know what happens next with the White Walkers attacking and bringing down The Wall. I remember me and my cousin stopped up late for the last episode to be released after it was broad casted in America and we just sat in there in complete shock after we finished watching it haha. It's apparently been released in April so it's not too long to wait!

You - Season 2
Even though as I write this the first season of You hasn't even been shown over here in the UK. It's being added to Netflix on Boxing Day and I shall definitely be re-watching it, I'm really looking forward to what will happen next. It's about Joe who is a Bookstore owner and comes across as the typical nice guy. But he's not. He's actually a complete psycho to put it bluntly. He becomes obsessed with a blonde haired customer and does everything he can to be her perfect boyfriend and I mean he will literally do anything, including murder. It's very dark and has a touch of Bates Motel kind of vibes and it's just one of those shows when you want to know what happens next.

Peaky Blinders - Season 5

I bloody love Peaky Blinders! I'm still so gutted that I was too unwell to go see them filming some of the show about 12 miles away from where I live last month and all of the main cast were there. I didn't love the last season but it was okay and I still watched it to the end, even though one of my fave characters got killed off. But I can't wait to see what happens next to the Shelby family and everyone else after Tommy was elected as the MP for Birmingham and also had a baby and married Lizzie.

Stranger Things - Season 3

Stranger Things is so good, it's definitely one of my fave TV shows. I love that it's set in the 80s too. I really loved the last season even though the sad death of that nice character (if you've watched it then you'll know who I mean). I'm really looking forward to see which direction they take the show next. I definitely think I'll probably end up binge watching the first two seasons again before the next season gets released but I've definitely got plenty of time to rewatch it because apparently the new season isn't being released until on or around Halloween 2019.

Big Little Lies - Season 2

I'm really looking forward to the next season of Big Little Lies and Meryl Streep has joined the line up as Perry's mother who is Celeste's (Nicole Kidman) Husband. It tells the story of three woman who are dealing with  troubled lifestyles in different ways and also how they are all being interviewed for a murder investigation. So it kind of flashes backwards and forwards to then and now. I think the cast of Big Little Lies is great too as it has Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley as the three main leading roles and also Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Adam Scott and Zoe Kravitz in supporting roles too.

The Handmaid's Tale - Season 3
I think The Handmaid's Tale is one of the most messed up, weird but addicting shows I've watched in a long time and it's quite worrying how some of the things in the show are kind of coming into our real world right now too. Set in the near future, fertility rates have collapsed due to sexually transmitted diseases and environmental pollution. The government of Gilead and the world is separated into social classes in which men are in power and women are not allowed to work, own any property, handle money or even read/write. It mainly follows June who is a fertile Handmaid now named "Offred" as she is the handmaid to the Gileadan Commander Fred Waterford and her wife Serena Joy who perform a "ritual" each month in order for June to carry a baby for them. It's very dark and twisted but it's really gripping and it literally puts me on the edge of my seat because it stresses me out so much but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next to June. There isn't a set time for the next season but it has been renewed and hopefully will be out next year.
