Mother's Day Gift Guide #2

-This post contains PR samples/gifted items but no paid content. All opinions are my own-
I love buying gifts for people in general whether it's for a certain occasion or just a pick me up kind of gift, I just love treating other people. So obviously when it's comes to buying a gift or gifts for someone as special as my mum then it makes it extra special. I know people buy for their grandmothers for Mother's Day too but unfortunately both of mine are no longer with us. I thought I'd do a gift idea blog post which could be for both your mum or your grandmother depending who you buy for. The price range of the gifts featured in this post is low to high so there's something for everyone's budget. Anyway I hope you enjoy reading this post and I hope it gives you some ideas if you are stuck! I also have another gift guide here for more ideas too.

If my mum hasn't dropped any hints about anything she's thinking of buying or interested in such as a new perfume, a kitchen appliance or maybe something for the house like a new plant pot or photo frame then I usually will put together a gift bag full of different things but I usually pick up beauty related products. You don't have to spend a fortune on these things either you could pop into Poundland or B&M and pick up a variety of beauty products or you could spend a bit more and go online and put together a little selection of products from Boots, Beauty Bay or Cult Beauty and places like that and/or pick up some cosy pyjamas and slippers from Primark, George at Asda or ASOS depending on your budget. If you were planning to put together a gift box or gift bag of beauty products which I personally think is kind of a foolproof gift idea then you could pop in a bath bomb like the Fruit Salad scented one from Rosina's Lotions & Potions* pictured above, a lovely new body scrub - the Urban Veda Soothing Body Scrub* smells gorgeous! and it exfoliates in a gentle but effective way which is fab. Both me and my mum have been using it over the past few weeks and we've both said how nice it is! Something else which I think would make a great little gift bag filler are the Dr.Lipp Lip Tints* which are perfect for adding a little colour but also really comfortable and moisturising on your lips and you can pick them up easily on Lookfantastic and Amazon for around £6.99. They're a great size to pop in your handbag and they look lovely with a simple/natural makeup look.

I also like to pop in affordable body sprays or mists such as the Superdrug Layering Lab Body Mists which I've recently come across. They are really cheap around £3.50 but are usually on offer for even cheaper and they have some dupes of high end perfumes within the current range which is handy if you are on a budget. The Exotic scent above is a pretty good dupe to YSL Black Opium which I personally really like but I don't like the price tag that comes with it! Another brand which I've recently discovered is Tropic Skincare and they have some lovely gift sets for any occasion. The So Sleepy Gift Set RRP £20* comes in a unique eye-catching box and contains their So Sleepy Pillow Mist and So Sleepy Temple Balm and both work a treat and do a great job at calming your senses and help to ease you into a lovely deep sleep.

My next gift idea is a little pricier but it is a pretty impressive product which has literally blown my mind. The product I'm talking about is the Lisse Luxe Hair Towel from Aquis* which is available in different colours. I know what you probably think... "what's so impressive about a hair towel?" Well because it's crafted with Aquitex the towel absorbs so much more water than a basic towel and it's also really comfortable to wear as it's lightweight and really soft. It naturally dries my hair a lot quicker than a bog-standard towel does and when I take it off when my hair is basically almost dry and then I quickly blow dry the rest just to stop my hair from going crazy. If I let my hair dry completely on it's own then my hair basically turns into a weird bird nest look which is not what I want so I do have to blow dry my hair every time I wash my hair but people who are lucky and don't end up with crazy frizzy hair if they let their hair naturally dry will definitely be able to use the hair towel alone. Because the Lisse Luxe Hair Towel dries it much quicker naturally then it means I'm not using as much heat on my hair in the long run which means my hair isn't getting as damaged which is always good. It may seem a little pricey at around £30 depending where you shop but it's honestly a game changer!

If your mum isn't into beauty or home decor items then you could buy her a gorgeous letterbox cake from bakerdays priced from £14.99*. You can choose the style, cake filling and when you want it to be delivered. If your mum/grandmother lives a distance away from you then you could surprise them for Mother's Day and have a bakerdays cake delivered to them to celebrate the day. The cakes come with the option to personalise and you can even add your own photos to some of them to make it even more special! They literally have a cake for every occasion. They also offer a variety of flavours and preferences including traditional sponge, half chocolate half sponge, lovely lemon drizzle, dairy free, gluten wheat free and rich chocolate chip. So there's something for everyone and they also taste really yummy too. I literally cannot fault bakerdays and I love that they are a more unique to other online cake companies!

As I've mentioned before on my blog Baylis & Harding are such a fab affordable gifting brand and they are usually my go-to brand for Birthday and Christmas gifts. For Mother's Day they've released some gorgeous new gift sets including the Super Mum Box of Treats set which comes in the cutest box and has some lovely products inside including their Unicorn Candy Body Wash, Frosted Sprinkles (my fave scent) Bath Crystals and the Tropical Cocktail Body Butter which all smells as gorgeous as they sound. I also just adore the packaging it's so cute! If you like the look of the Box of Treats gift set then you can buy it from Amazon for just £12 which I think personally is a bargain!

They also have some other gift sets available including the Luxury Fragranced Candles priced at £20 on Amazon which also come in the same scents as the Super Mum gift set - Unicorn Candy, Frosted Sprinkles and Tropical Cocktail. Each candle should last for around 30 hours each and the scents are nice but not overpowering which both me and mum are a fan of as we are the type of people who are prone to headaches if there's an overpowering scent (fun). I love the little saying on each of the candles and I just think they look really cute and perfect as a gift.

  1. These are some great gift ideas. I especially love the cake from Baker Days - who doesn't love getting cake!? - and the Baylis and Harding gift sets.
