A Must Have Skincare Device? | Trying Out The PMD Clean Pro

You may have read my Spring Skincare Haul which featured the original PMD Clean* back in April and I've been using it ever since. But PMD have recently released an updated version which is rechargeable and also contains a more advanced massaging head on the back of the device as opposed to the original version. You can choose either from the Rose Quartz or Rose Gold options and I decided to try the Rose Quartz option, purely because I'm really trying to get back into crystal healing and I thought it was a good way to reintroduce crystal healing into my life by adding it into my skincare regime.

The original PMD Clean which I've loved using for months retails for £89 but as expected because of the added functions the PMD Clean Pro it's priced between £135-£165. Both options feature their ActiveWarmth Facial Massage Technology which helps your skin to absorb products better by using the combination of heat and vibrations. The SonicGlow Technology breaks down dirt and oil from the pores at 7,000 vibrations per minute whilst operating at a perfect frequency for your skin to lift, firm and tone the skin.

The Rose Gold option which is available in Teal, Navy and Berry has an Activewarth Pad made out of anodised aluminium which radiates a soothing heat and encourages products to penetrate the skin more deeply.

The Rose Quartz option which is only available in the Blush colour also has an ActiveWarmth Pad but it is made out of pure Rose Quartz. Consisting of elements which include magnesium, iron, oxygen, the stone helps to reduce inflammation (which I definitely suffer with!) and also tension.

Like the original PMD Clean the cleansing brush has 4 different settings -
Mode 1: Gentle Vibration, Mode 2: Intense Vibration, Mode 3: Gentle Pulsation
and Mode 4: Intense Pulsation. Also like most other cleansing brushes the silicone is odour resistant, anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and waterproof which makes it an ideal skincare device. It's also suitable for all skin types.

So how have I been getting on with the PMD Clean Pro Rose Quartz*?

I've been using the cleansing brush the same way as the original PMD Clean* so I apply my cleanser to my face first as I find that it works better than directly applying it to the device and then I wet the brush and put on either Mode 1 or Mode 2 and then I start using it on my face using circular motions. I do find that using a facial cleansing brush does help my skin and I feel like it really does make my skin feel super clean and refreshed.

Then if I choose to use the Rose Quartz on the back then I'll pop it on (there's a separate button on the back for this) and wait for it to heat up - it doesn't take long. It doesn't get hot, it's more of a soothing warm feeling which I really like. I've actually used it on it's own after cleansing when I've got a tension headache a few times and I find that it does help for that too. Obviously I don't used it for a prolonged amount of time because it's not made for that but it's just an added bonus I've found works for me. After cleansing I've then been popping on either the Pixi Glow Tonic Serum* or the True Skincare Organic Balancing Safflower and Basil Facial Oil directly onto the Rose Quartz and then massaging the product into my skin. I sometimes put either Mode 3 or Mode 4 on for this to help the products sink into the skin but I'll be honest, I tend to forget about the pulsation settings so I only use them if I remember they're there haha. I'm also slowly getting into using anti-ageing products as I'm 25 and I've started to notice some small fine lines forming (~sob~) and I feel like the massage function of the device is going to be great for when I apply anti-ageing serums and oils more often. I'm basically kind of in denial about the signs of ageing but I also need a kick up the arse and start properly looking at anti-ageing products that work well before I wake up one morning to find that I've got a line resembling The Nile going across my forehead lol.

Overall I really like the PMD Clean Pro Rose Quartz*, I think it's really stepped up from the original but I still really like the original and the fact that it does still have a 2-in-1 function with the massager on the back. I think if you don't have the money to splash out over £100 on the new and improved PMD Clean then I'd still say go for the original PMD Clean RRP £89 because it really is great. But if you do have the money and like the sound of the ActiveWarmth Technology function of the PMD Clean Pro and the fact that it's rechargeable unlike the original and that it comes with a little travel case then I'd say opt for one of the PMD Clean Pros instead. Either way, I highly recommend PMD Beauty in general because I've tried various different beauty tools from them over the past few years and they've all been fab. So well done PMD Beauty for making another amazing device that my temperamental skin actually likes!
