I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

It's a few days after Christmas now and I'm still feeling like an beached whale (but that just proves that I've had a good Christmas, right?) I'm having an pyjama day, catching up on tv and watching films all day. It's my first Christmas whilst I've been blogging so I thought I'd do one of these posts. I know some people don't like these because they think the blogger whose writing them are just bragging about what they got. So I'm saying it now, I'm not bragging at all! I like reading these and watching them on Youtube. I love seeing what people have got and it gives me ideas on what to spend any Christmas money on too lol! I ran a poll on Twitter a few days ago because I was indecisive about doing this post and the majority vote was that I should sod the haters and do it, so here it is!

I'm still in shock at the amount of presents I received this year. I literally love all of them, so trying to choose my favourites to feature in this was pretty hard to do. But here they are!

I got a really lovely, oversized aztec print wrap over which is from Matalan from my parents, a blue snake print bag from one of my aunties (as well as some bath goodies too) and both of them together look so nice! I also got some Yankee Candle wax melts, AVON Cherish Perfume, a Baileys tin which contains a mini Baileys bottle and a chocolate, LUSH bath bombs and the It's Raining Men Shower Gel and I picked up the Bath and Body Works dupe candle from B&M which is an Marshmallow Fireside scent which I bought with some of my Christmas money on Boxing Day.

I love my K personalised jewellery dish I got, (if you saw my Christmas Wish List earlier this month, it was on there) I also got an LUSH Blooming Beautiful Gift Set from my auntie and uncle/godparents which contains Rose Jam Bubbleroom and an Honey Bee bath bomb which I'm looking forward to trying, Other presents which I got from my parents were the Soap and Glory Eyes Box which contains Supercat Eyeliner, Archery Brow Tint and Pencil,Sexy Kohl Eyeliner and Thick and Fast Collagen Mascara, LUSH Charity Pot Moisturiser and the Real Techniques Core Collection brush set.

I also got the Bedhead Styleshots Epic Volume Conditioner (which is definitely one of my fave conditioners!) and an Soap and Glory conditioner which I'm looking forward to trying, it smells so fresh and fruity! and I received Dirty Dancing on DVD from one of my auntie's because it's one of my favourite films and I was literally saying to her the other week that It's one of my faves and I didn't actually have the DVD, well now I have. She also gave me some money too (which I may or may not have already spent in the sales)

I also got the Soap and Glory Soaper Heroes gift set, Jingle Gel Rock from The Body Shop (I bought myself one of these last week. oops! but now I'm all stocked up) Some H&M goodies: Raspberry Leaf Face Mask and Winter Fig Body Mist, Primark candles and a super soft purple blanket which I know my cats will probably claim once it's on my bed. Plus I got an 500g bottle of Rose Jam yay!

So there's my favourite presents I received this Christmas. I shall be reviewing some products I got sometime soon too. I'm literally stocked up on Soap and Glory and LUSH products for the unforeseeable future lol! Also I've bought some things in the sales with my Christmas money so I'm going to be posting an What I got in the Christmas/Boxing Day Sales post once everything has arrived!

Did everyone have a good Christmas? Can't believe it's all over for another year. *sad emoji face* (Btw if you've done an What I Got For Christmas post too then link me!)

Merry Christmas!

by Kirsty Milward, 25.12.16

This is just a post to say Merry Christmas! I hope you're having an lovely Christmas Day. (Or had depending on what time it is on Christmas Day when you're reading this) I'm really grateful of all the people who read any my posts and subscribed/following my blog and my Twitter.

I know I'm only just starting out blogging really and if you'd had told me at the beginning of the year, that I would make an beauty and lifestyle kind of blog and gone public with it on Twitter, I definitely wouldn't have believed you. So far I'm loving it and the blogging community that I've come across so far, are so lovely and genuine. I was worried I was going to be a little bit of an outcast because my blog is still kind of getting off it's feet. Anyway I won't keep you any longer from your Christmas Day...

Merry Christmas again!

FIRST OF ALL... It's Christmas Eve!! OMG WHAT?!
Today I'm writing a little review about the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencils. The shade I have is 310 Berry Much. I know these have been around for a while now but I don't usually wear dark purple/berry shades. But I thought I'd give it a try and bought this shade for the winter months. I've been meaning to write this review for a while now because I got this at the beginning of November. Oops

I do like the colour of this a lot and I think it looks okay against my pale skin (which is unusual because darker shades usually don't suit me at all) It's definitely an winter and and vampy kind of colour. I picked mine up for £4.99 at Superdrug which I think is a good price for anyone on a budget.

The formula of this lip pencil is very creamy but dries to an matte finish and it did seem to dry out my lips a little when I first wore it. But now whenever I do use this lip pencil, I tend to use either a lip balm or a dab of Vaseline beforehand. It does stay in place well, even when wearing a kind of primer underneath and it doesn't go patchy.

Something I do find a little annoying about this product is that its quite an chunky pencil and I've been trying to find an pencil sharpener which will be big enough and I still haven't found one yet. So if anyone who uses these lip pencils knows what pencil sharpener will fit these, then please let me know!

Overall I do like this lip pencil and I will probably will try out more colours soon. I thought I'd post this post during this week whilst I'm posting every single day (including Christmas Day!) because this is quite a christmassy, winter kind of shade. Also if you do like this colour then you might even get it a little cheaper or in an deal during the Boxing Day sales.

Also I hope everyone is having an stress free Christmas Eve! If everything has gone to plan, me and my parents should've exchanged all of our presents with our family and friends yesterday. (I'm writing this a few days before though, so who knows?)
I hope you liked this review. Do you own any of these lip pencils?
What do you think of them?

I can't believe I'm writing this but... It's almost Christmas Day! Eek. These past couple of weeks have flown by. I've literally only just finished wrapping Christmas presents for the family over last weekend. I'm normally prepared way earlier, I don't what's happened this year lol. Usually all my presents are wrapped and in their gift bags in November! Instead of wrapping ALL of the presents in one sitting, like I normally do, whilst watching a Christmas film or two (with a glass of wine or a hot chocolate obvs) I've done it in sections this year. So I've wrapped the presents per family then done another family the next day and so on. I've got a lot of auntie's and uncle's and most of my cousins have kids now too. So there's a lot of presents to wrap! Anyway onto the blog post, Today I'm sharing my top 5 favourite Christmas songs:

Wham - Last Christmas
East 17 - Stay Another Day
John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
The Pogues ft. Kirsty McColl - Fairytale of New York
Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas? (1984)Pretenders - 2000 Miles

So there's my top 5. I think it may change a little each year, if I'm being honest. But I'd say these are the ones I've most liked listening to this year. I was going to do an little reason why I love each song under each one but I felt as if I was just repeating myself, so I decided on not doing that lol. What are your favourite Christmas songs? x

This really is a mini The Body Shop haul. There was an really good promotion going on: 40% OFF and also when you spent £5 you got free delivery and if you spent £10 you'd get a free Shea Body Butter worth £14. I haven't bought anything from The Body Shop for ages, so I was looking forward to it arriving. Here's what I got...

The Jingle Gel Rock Gift Set

This was something that was on my Christmas Wish List mainly because I really wanted to try a few of the shower gels inside and also because it comes in such a cute little packaging. It contains 4x 60ml bottles. This was supposed to have been £8 but because of the 40% offer I got it for £4.80! I've only tried one of the shower gels in this set, which is the Moringa one. I really wanted to try the Fuji Green Tea most because I've heard good things about it. But I knew I wasn't going to visiting my local Body Shop until after Christmas and thought I'd get this little set because they're good trial size bottles and also good for travelling. (If you want to see the cute packaging, there's a photo at the end of the post)

Born Lippy Raspberry Lip Balm

I'd forgotten how much I love these. They're are so good for the price too. I didn't really need another lip balm but I thought I'd get another one, just to add to my ever growing collection. I always seem to lose them so easily. The usual price of these lip balms are £2 but because of the promo, it was £1.20.

Shea Body Butter
This was the freebie gift worth £14 they were offering if you spent over £10. But because I put everything I wanted in the basket first, then added the promotion code, It seemed to let me have this for free. Even though I only spent £6. But altogether what I bought should've been £10. I don't know if that was why I got the freebie or if it was a glitch? I've never used an body butter from The Body Shop before and now I'm questioning why. I used this after my shower today and my skin is still feeling so smooth and lovely about 8 hours later. The scent isn't an overpowering scent, it's very delicate and the consistency of the it is thick and creamy which I love. I hate buying body butters and they're really watery.

I think I will be buying more products from The Body Shop (probably on Boxing Day)
If you have any recommendations on what to buy and try then leave me a comment below!

Hope you've enjoyed this post, I know it was probably the smallest haul ever lol.

Today I thought I'd share my favourite things about Christmas. There's probably 20 more things I could write about easily but I thought I'd keep it (kind of) short and sweet. So here they are:
  • Getting the dusty old boxes full of Christmas decorations from the loft and realising how many pretty decorations we've got and finding some new ones from the Christmas sales last year too!
  • Deciding on what to buy who and browsing online and window shopping for hours. (Plus the 3 for 2 offers always mean treats to me with the cheapest item for free lol)
  • Lush Christmas Range, because who doesn't want to smell like candy floss?
  • Wrapping the presents and making them instagram worthy. We all do it, right?
  • Not feeling a tad bit guilty about the amount of chocolate I've consumed over the festive period
  • Taking presents to family who I haven't seen for ages and having a catch up
  • My annual tradition: Having a LUSH bath on Christmas Eve before getting into my new, cute Christmas pyjamas that I've either bought for myself or received as an early Christmas present
  • Getting in bed on Christmas Eve and feeling like an excited child
  • When I'm opening Christmas presents which are from my mum and dad and seeing my dad look as surprised/clueless about whats inside as me, whilst I'm opening most of the presents haha!
  • After opening the Christmas presents, watching my cats look at the wrapping paper on the floor like "wtf happened here? What did I miss?" and then beginning to investigate the situation...
  • Looking through the TV guide and trying to decide which of your favourite childhood Christmas films to watch on Christmas Day (even though I've got most of them on dvd)
  • Helping my mum in the kitchen when making Christmas Dinner (which resemble Christmas music on the radio, mum singing and me on peeling the veg duties)
  • The nap after eating Christmas dinner seems like the best nap I've had all year

So there's some of my favourite things about this wonderful time of the year.
What are your favourite things about the festive period?

Hope you're enjoying my daily posts this week so far!

(Also if you're wondering why we haven't got lights on our Christmas tree. It's because of one of our cats, climbs in the tree and last year he literally almost hung himself. He had the lights wrapped around his neck and if we'd been out of the house, he wouldn't still be here right now. So we've got lights up elsewhere in the living room. Since last Christmas he has put on some weight, so he isn't going in the tree as much this year but we don't want to risk it still. Hopefully next year he won't bother at all lol)

The highlighter I'm talking about is the Collection Speedy Highlighter. I personally love this highlighter. I know some people say it's glittery and over the top but I don't think it's glittery at all. It's enough to give you a healthy looking glow and for someone who didn't wear highlighter at all until the beginning of this year and now wears it pretty much all the time when wearing make up, it definitely says something. This is my go to highlighter. Personally I'd say this is better than some high end highlighters I own. I'm looking at you Benefit High Beam...

I think Collection only do this highlighter in one shade which is Pearl Sheen. It's basically a champagne colour and compliments my pale skin very well. When you look at the colour of the stick it does look slightly pink but that pink doesn't show once you've applied it. I've worn this alone, under foundation and over foundation and it's work fine every way as stated on the product. Another reason why I love this highlighter is because of it's bargain price at £3.99! and you actually get a good amount of product for the price which let's face it... you don't always find with the stick products with the twist up packaging.

I already know that this will be in my 2016 Beauty Faves post that I'll be writing and posting next week. Spoiler Alert lol.

So there's my fave go to highlighter at the minute.
What's your go to highlighter right now?

We all love to get our hands on some bargains in the Boxing Day sales and the January sales. But let's face it, most of us go a little crazy and just buy some things because they're on sale and usually they just end up either hanging in your wardrobe with the tags still on, in their unopened box or in the bathroom, all waiting to be used. So if you read my Preparing For Black Friday post, then I'm pretty much going to follow that post this Christmas. But I've got some other ideas on how to not overspend and also some tips on how to get things even cheaper when their already in the sale.

Plan Ahead
What I mean by this is just write down the things you're most wanting to get in the sales and if you're hitting the high streets on Boxing Day then just go to the things you want most and see if they've been added into the sale. Don't go wandering around the shop, make a beeline to the things you want, go to the checkout and then leave. Don't give into temptation just because it's cheaper. If you're more of stay at home, in your festive pyjamas, browsing through all the websites at what's in the sales kinda person (like me!), then instead of clicking on the "Sale" page, search each thing you're wanting to get cheaper. Then you won't get tempted by all the other things.

Another tip following on from the Plan Ahead tip above is to bookmark things you're most wanting to get at a cheaper price and then when it's sale time, just got to your "Boxing Day Sale" Bookmark and go through all of your bookmarked pages and see what's been reduced! (This was really helpful on Black Friday)

Promotion Codes

Some websites let you apply an promotion code, even when there's an sale going on. I've found this works on Lookfantastic and The Body Shop mostly. Also googling promotion codes for any website is always a good idea in general.

Put Spare Money Aside

So obviously if you're planning on buying things in the sales then you've more than likely saved some money from your last pay day before Christmas. But another good idea is to put an extra little bit of money aside for the sales and don't count it as your sale limit (basically trick yourself lol) because then if you find something you'd like to buy but have spent most or all of your sale money, then you're not dipping into the rest of your money that's got to last you until your next pay day.

Current Sale Items May Go Cheaper
Anything in the sales right now before Christmas will probably go even cheaper either on Christmas Day or on Boxing Day. But... you do have to risk the fact that whatever you're looking at, may go out of stock in the meantime. But sometimes it's worth the risk!

So there's my tips for Boxing Day, which I can't believe is a week away! Who's going to be hitting the high streets and who is going to be staying home, like me on Boxing Day and hopefully getting some bargains online?

(PS: please excuse the terrible photo for this post lol)

So every year in the middle of November, my mum alerts me that it's 6 weeks until Christmas and asks me to write down a Christmas list. I may be 22 years old, but being told to write down a Christmas list is basically the same feeling you got when you was a child, when your parents handed you an Argos catalogue and told you told circle things you want for your Birthday or Christmas, right?

This year I've gotten back into make up and changing up how I wear it, I've also been loving cute home ware things because of redecorating my room earlier in the year and obviously LUSH. So I turned into my excitable 6 year old self again and then started to browse online and window shop at things I'd really like. So here's some of my Christmas wish list this year.

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb | Dream Cream Body Lotion | Silky Underwear Dusting Powder | Butterbear Bath Bomb | It's Raining Men Shower Gel | Northern Lights Bath Bomb

I Heart Makeup Eyeshadow Palette I Heart Chocolate Vice |The Body Shop Jingle Gel Rock Gift Set | Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie Wax MeltTIGI Bed Head Styleshots Epic Volume Conditioner

Matalan Alphabet Jewellery Dish (obviously with an K not an A lol) | AVON Dreams Eau de Parfum | Dressing Gown

So there's the things I want most from my Christmas Wish List this year. I have got a few other things on my list but they're just kind of boring and just are my fave Primark candles, a 2017 diary etc. What's on your Christmas Wish List this year?

* Also since writing this post, I treated myself to the The Body Shop Jingle Gel Rock gift set because there was an 40% off and free delivery promotion if you spend over £5 and Free Shea Body Butter if you spend over £10. So obviously just had to make an little order...

*this post not sponsored

So I wasn't going to do another kind of gift guide post for Christmas but we've started putting the Christmas decorations up in our house today and I've put a mini Christmas tree up in my room and just made my room look a little more festive. So I think that's what's spurred this post on. So if you're still buying your gifts, here's some stocking filler ideas. These would be perfect for Secret Santa too! And because these are so cheap, you could even buy a few different things off this list and still have a little change in your pocket.

Wooden Letter Ornament
These are really pretty and for £1.99 with free delivery too, they are a bargain! Plus when I ordered mine in the Summer, it arrived within about 2 days. With it being closer to Christmas, it may take a little longer though. But who doesn't love an personalised kind of present.

I personally love a good old Primark candle. I think candles are the perfect little gift. I love the Cedarwood and Myrrh ones for Christmas time from Primark.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
Obviously unless you know what colour the recipient likes to wear, then this might be an no-no for a Secret Santa gift but it's a good one for a stocking filler. Who doesn't love getting make up at Christmas? Plus these stay on so well and are affordable at £5.50 each! They won't be losing any lipstick whilst sipping on their wine on Christmas day either.

Face Masks
If you know a certain brand that the person you're buying for loves, then why not add an face mask in their stocking filler? I like the H&M masks because their packaging is a little different than your usual face mask and they are just £1.99 each.

Tealight Holder
I tend to get my tealight holders from B&M mainly. Or I get them as presents on my Birthday/Christmas. They're really cheap if you shop in the right places and a good little extra present.

Just because you can't really go wrong with chocolate!

Eyeshadow Palette

I think this a good one to buy because it may feel/look like a chocolate bar but really it's an eyeshadow palette. But I think that might be just me liking to buy presents that look like something else to trick the person I'm buying for lol.

This might be just me because I've got my eyes on a ton of cushions (sad I know) but I'm waiting until Christmas/Boxing Day sales for them to maybe go into the sales because some of them are a little pricier than what I want to spend on a cushion. But I think cushions are a good, practical present to get. You can get them pretty cheap too at places like Asda, B&M and Primark.

Hand CreamWe all need hand cream in the Winter months! I'm stocked up with my fave Soap and Glory Hand Food this year. I literally don't leave the house without it. Also Superdrug have their Flutter and Leafy & Lovely range hand creams on offer right now for just £1 and they're each in pretty packaging.

LUSH Bath Bomb
Obviously you're going to need to know if the person you're buying for owns a bath before getting a bath bomb (or bubble bar) but I always think LUSH bath bombs make perfect little gifts. The majority of my "Christmas Wish List" is LUSH products this year lol.

So there's some ideas if you're stuck for Stocking Fillers!

 Hope this helps! x

I thought I'd share the nail polishes and colours which I have been reaching for the most over the past month or so and do a mini review of each. So here they are...

MUA - Stormy Skies
This has been in my nail polish collection for a while and I've only just started to wear it. I always seem to buy black nail polishes and then I feel they're just too dark against my skin. It's like an never ending circle lol. But I wore this for Halloween and fell in love. I don't use it as much as the others but I have worn it about a handful of times. I like it because it has got gold glitter in it so it just gives it a little bit of something else. The only thing I'm not keen on is the brush but for £1 you can't really complain lol.

AVON Colour Attract - Fuschia Force

I don't think AVON sell these anymore? But this was given to me earlier this year. I do like the colour and the fact that it has some glitter but not an dramatic amount. The only thing I don't like about this is that it seems to take a while to dry.

PS Quick Dry Nail Polish - 16. Rose Quartz

I LOVE Primark nail polishes. They're so good and they stay on so much longer than more expensive polishes too. Plus these ones are the mini's so they're travel friendly. If you're for some super cheap polishes, these are the ones I'd recommend! 60p each! Can't fault them.

Collection 7 Day Wear - 18. Suede

This is a really nice easy to wear colour which is always a good thing! It's an grey/purple shade. I got it from Superdrug for £1.99. The only problem is that it does chip very easy! It definitely isn't 7 day wear unfortunately. But now I tend to double up on the top coat to try and get it to stop chipping so easily. (Yes that's how much I love this colour lol)

MUA - Plum Noir

This is such a pretty colour. It's a slight different colour than the bottle but it's still an very nice and wintery shade. Again I'm not too keen on the brushes of these because I find them to make the nail polish streaky but they're only £1!

PS Quick Dry Nail Polish 18. Rose
This colour is probably the one I've been wearing most since I got it last month. It's so lovely. It's a very muted pink. Kind of like mink pink shade. It's lovely. I haven't got another colour like this in my nail polish bag either. Again it's a Primark 60p polish and it stays on really well.

So there's my current go-to nail polishes!
What are your faves right now?

So It's a few days into December now, so I thought I'd begin my festive posts with some films I like to watch in December. These are the perfect films to snuggle up in a blanket, with a cup of tea and some chocolate. Nothing better, right?
