In a blog post last week I wrote about how I would love to travel a little more around the UK this year and visit places which I love visiting in the UK in the warmer months and also some places which I’ve never been before but are on my ‘UK Travel Wishlist’.

I personally prefer travelling in a car rather than public transport just because I like the convenience of doing what you want, when you want and not having to wait around for trains or buses. Also I do get quite bad anxiety at times so I tend to try and avoid public transport if I'm being honest. In today's post I'm writing about being safe whilst travelling during the Spring and Summer months and ways you can keep safe on the roads this year.

Trying Out Laboratoire SVR Skincare

in , , by Kirsty Milward, 26.4.18

If you've been following and reading my blog for a while then I'm sure you will know by now that I'm a self confessed skincare hoarder. Some people treat themselves to snazzy new bags or shoes when they are feeling low, I treat myself to new skincare products lol. Over the past few weeks I've been trying out some products from Laboratoire SVR who are a french pharmacy and are brand new to the UK. They cater for all skin types from acne prone, eczema, hyper-pigmentation, psoriasis and more.

The warmer weather seems to have finally come along and we all know what that means... leg shaving season is upon us. Keeping on top of hair removal is such a chore at the best of times but when Summer comes around, it's even more annoying. Which is why laser hair removal might be something to consider. At Pulse Light Clinic based in London they offer laser hair removal to men and women (aged over 18) and also offer free consultations and patch tests.

I've been really trying to up my photography game lately because I felt like it was kind of letting my blog and instagram down. I decided to pick up some new affordable blog props as well as a few new backdrops and I've definitely seen an improvement in my photos just by changing a few things and I've also noticed that my engagement on my insta photos has actually improved... what?! So here are some affordable blog prop ideas which have helped me to jazz up my flatlays and feel better about my photography game whilst being on a budget.

3 States To Visit This Summer *

by Kirsty Milward, 19.4.18

Travel advice is very easy to find. A simple google search can yield you knowledge about some of the most fantastic environments to experience on this planet, and will offer you advice to do so cheaply. With all this information about wonderful and curated experiences, sometimes a little bit of risk and mystery might help us stay excited and help the choices feel novel.

Today’s post is kind of a mini review which I don’t actually do that often but I just wanted to basically shout from the rooftops about the Glam & Style Diamond Hair Straighteners* because I have been using them over the past month or so and I’m so impressed with them. Not only do they look nicer than my more expensive straighteners, they also work just as well but they are a lot cheaper at £19.99 on Amazon.

I always find that this time of the year I get more motivation to have a proper declutter around the house and get rid of things that either aren't being used or I'm just not a fan of anymore. I like to start early so that the things I don't want anymore are not cluttering up the house in the Summer months. Anything from clothes, homeware, makeup, tools and so on. I also find decluttering is kind of therapeutic in a weird way and it's also a way to make some extra pennies too. So I thought I'd do a blog post with some tips on how I declutter and get rid of things I don't want or need in my life anymore.

Spring Makeup Picks

in , , , by Kirsty Milward, 9.4.18

I think Spring is probably my favourite season for many reasons - the weather changing, lighter evenings, everything coming back to life, baby lambs, my birthday, being able to leave the house without a coat and obviously changing up my makeup looks. I’ve recently had a bit of a Spring makeup shakeup and added some new things to my collection and also pulled out some old favourites from last year. So I thought I’d do a blog post all about my go-to Spring makeup picks for this year.

As a career woman with her sights set firmly on the boardroom and promotion, it’s vital that you dress to impress. Yes, you want your talents to shine through, but you also want to maintain your fashionista credentials as you climb the corporate ladder. Dressing formally yet comfortably can boost your confidence and help you perform better at work. While trouser suits belong in the nineties and shoulder pads find their natural home in the eighties, there are other looks you can try out in the boardroom of the twenty-first century.

Rediscovering Old Favourites

in , by Kirsty Milward, 6.4.18

I love rediscovering old favourites and I've definitely rediscovered some gems over the past month or so whilst having a destash of products and a bit of a shake-up in my makeup collection. Here are some things which I've recently rediscovered and loving lately...

New In My Makeup Collection

in , by Kirsty Milward, 3.4.18

A few weeks ago I did a New In My Skincare Stash and this week I'm back with a New In My Makeup Collection, I know what you're probably thinking - Wow, this girl has got a shopping problem and guess what? You're right lol. I've been feeling really low/stressed over the past few weeks over many different things and (online) retail therapy always cheers me up. I know a Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick isn't going to fix any current problems going on in my life but hey, at least I can look somewhat more put together whilst attempting to deal with the shit life keeps throwing at me, right? Anyway, let's move onto what I've bought recently makeup-wise and my thoughts so far.
