I can't believe February is over! I will admit, I've had a pretty uneventful month and I'm looking forward to Spring. I did go a little crazy on my January Favourites so I've tried to keep this favourites list as short as possible.

Superdrug Style Expertise Salt Spray
So since having my hair cut into a kind of long lob (if that makes sense? lol) I've been wearing my hair with natural looking curls/waves but because I wanted my curls/waves to have some texture I decided to try this salt spray and I love it. It smells nice and a little goes a long way. It was only £2.99 too.

Schwarzkopf Got2b Playful Primer
I don't usually use a primer on my hair, I usually use a heat protection spray and then styling sprays but since having my hair cut, I've changed up how I wear my hair. So now I tend to wear it wavy/curly and instead of using my heat protection sprays (which are usually for making your hair straight/sleek) I've decided to opt for a primer and then using the salt spray to style afterwards which I mentioned above. I love this Got2b primer, it smells like coconuts and it makes my hair feel smooth but heat protected. Plus it's in a cute little bottle.

So I started watching this because I kept seeing people tweeting about how good it was on my twitter timeline. I totally get why people say "If you like Gossip Girl then you'll like Riverdale". It's not exactly the same but its got the bitchiness, secrets and mysteries, like Gossip Girl. It's available to watch on Netflix and a new episode is added every Friday.

My Mad Fat Diary

I know I'm a few years behind but My Mad Fat Diary has been something I've been meaning to watch for ages and this month I've finally got around to watching it. If you haven't watched it then it's set in the late 1990's and is focused on a music obsessed girl named Rae who has just been released from a psychiatric hospital after having a breakdown. She bumps into a old friend named Chloe who thinks she's been away in France and whilst Rae has been away "in France" Chloe made new friends and tries to get Rae in with the new gang. It's so funny! If you liked Skins then you'd definitely like this. The box set is on all4 if you feel like giving this a watch!

Garnier Skin Active Pure Active Sensitive Clarifying Tonic
I thought I'd try this for when my skin is oily/dry (like I've said before my skin type changes often). I've been using it twice a day, after I've cleansed my face and it takes off any remaining residue from the cleanser and it smooths my skin and tones it. It's not like toning water, it's more of a gel and It smells so nice! Definitely recommend it.

Beauty Atelier #Perfectionist Blender Sponge*
I'm usually a die-hard fan of the Real Techniques sponges but since I tried this #Perfectionist sponge, I haven't used any of my Real Techniques sponges. This doesn't waste any product (like the RT ones do a little) and it applies make up and gives me a dewy, natural look. You can read my more detailed review about the make up sponge here

LUSH Charity Pot
I love this moisturiser. I did receive this pot for Christmas but I have bought it beforehand and I'd run out. It's smells lovely and it also dries quite fast which I like. Obviously the money goes to Charity too which is always a good thing! It's £3.50 for 45g / £13.50 for 240g (or you can buy a trial tin for just £1)

Fab Little Bag*
I was sent these fab little bags to try out. They are a discreet, stress-free bag to use when it's that time of the month. You can pop your used tampon/pad into the bag when you're out and about or are having one of those situations when you've gone into a bathroom with an overflowing bin or no bin at all! Another reason why I love these is because they aren't too noisy to use, they can be opened with one hand, because of the loops and they have a peel off sticky strip to secure the bag and they are also environmentally friendly. I just think they are a great thing to have in your bag during the time of the month just to avoid any disposable problems you may run into.

You can pick them up in store at Waitrose or Whole Foods or online on Amazon or Ocado. They range between £1.99 and £3.50 depending which pack you buy. They offer a bathroom pack or a handbag pack.

So I'm the kind of person who craves a mug of coffee at 10pm and often gives in. Then I'll be awake until the early hours. I was really interested when I saw that Barley Cup was looking for some bloggers to review their products as they are naturally caffeine free, low in calories, made from natural ingredients and vegan-friendly and also gluten-free, lactose-free and dextrose-free.

Barley Cup is described as a natural alternative to tea or coffee. It is an instant cereal drink which contains roasted barley, rye and chicory.

They sell 4 different jars - With Dandelion, Powder, Organic and Granules.

I received the Barley Cup with Dandelion and also the Organic Jar* to try out and review.

I would say that they both of the drinks taste like a weak coffee (which I personally prefer) and very natural tasting as expected (if that makes sense). The dandelion jar tastes a tad more stronger than the organic. I use 2 teaspoons of the Barley Cup, a teaspoon of sugar and (sometimes) add milk.  I do like both of the flavours I received, I find that they are great to have late at night to stop the urge of reaching for the jar of coffee. Because of the product being caffeine free, it means I won't be up until the early hours regretting having the mug of coffee hours earlier which I seem to do way too often.

Overall I would definitely recommend giving these a try if you're trying to cut back on your caffeine intake or just fancy trying a different hot drink!

You can pick up Barley Cup from Holland & Barrett and also independent heath stores.

You can also follow them on Twitter and visit their website here

I've seen a few people do this post on their blogs, even though it's more of a Youtuber thing. But today I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and show you what's inside my bag on a day-to-day basis and also tell you all about a new affordable website called Dresslland where you can get good quality clothes and accessories and is where my bag is from.

So as I've said above my bag* is from Dresslland. I really like satchel bags because I feel like are more structured and everything stays pretty much in place. I did have a bit of a duffle bag obsession last year and I seem to have hoarded a few, but the problem with duffle bags is that everything moves around in the bag and you end up spending ages trying to find whatever you're looking for (It's like having an Mary Poppins bag!). The bag I bought is £14.99 on the website which is already a bargain as it's such great quality. But because Dresslland kindly gave me a 50% discount so I got it for £7.49*.

I chose this bag because I tend to go for tan bags usually so I thought I'd go for a black bag for a change, I really wanted a bag which I could dress up and down. The bag has an inside zip up pocket and 2 other pockets inside which will both fit my phone in nicely. It also can be fastened up by a zip at the top, as well as having the twist-lock function on the front. It also can be used as a handbag as it has a detachable strap.

Dresslland is an online boutique for women - they sell everything from clothing, shoes, accessories - jewellery, bags, scarves, purses and I also really like that they sell a plus size range too!

Another great thing about their website is that they offer free standard delivery on all items (UK shipping) with no minimum spend! and you get 10% off your first order too.

Moving onto what's usually inside my bag:

Phone (not in the photo)

So this is a pretty obvious one. If my phone isn't in my hand then it's usually in my bag lol. I currently have an iPhone 5S which I do love but I'm due to an upgrade in April yay! Still unsure on what to get next though.

I've had this purse for a while now and it's lasted really well. It was from New Look and I love the pretty little floral pattern. I prefer bulkier purses which have space for everything. I hate those purses which have a tiny little zip up pocket for change.

I only need my house and car keys to carry in my bag. But because I lose/forget to pick up my keys often, I bought the biggest pom pom I could find lol. It was only £4 from Boohoo and I've also got a cute little polka dot owl on my keys which was a gift.

Daily Makeup
I tend to carry a little bit of makeup but nothing major usually eyeliner, lipstick, concealer and powder.

I'm currently loving these Candescent lip balms* because they are so similar to the LUSH ones but cheaper. You can read my review about them here.

I always carry Nurofen in my bag because it's just what works for me when I get headaches or cramps or basically anything.

I hate having to wear glasses, they are only for reading but I have to carry them around with me obviously. (I do have a case for them too, but the case was a bit too bulky for the photo lol)

Hand Cream
If you're looking for a hand cream that I definitely recommend the Soap and Glory Hand Food! It smells lovely (Orginal Pink scent) and dries really fast. I always get the travel sized ones for £2.50 as they are perfect to pop in my bag.

I always carry my earphones with me. If I ever forget them, I feel so lost!

Other bits and bobs:

I always carry a hairbrush with me and I'm loving this tangle teezer dupe which was from B&M for 99p. I also like to carry hand sanitizer because I just like the know my hands are clean. I also carry some body spray or my Karma solid perfume, hair bobbles and twisty hairpins.

So there's what's in my bag on a daily basis.
Also you can check out Dresslland website here

Hope you enjoyed reading this post!

I really want to start posting more about fashion and crafts on my blog, as well as my usual beauty and lifestyle posts. So when I saw that Alex who owns PurpleSharks wanted some bloggers to try out and review some of the iron patches which she sells, I thought it was a great opportunity and starting point to begin doing so.

PurpleSharks is a website which sells random, cute and sassy iron on patches. If you're like me and into all the statement patches on t-shirts and other clothing items, then you're definitely going to like browsing PurpleSharks!

You can get anything from rainbows to sassy comments and animals, plus loads more! They range between £2-£3 each and the delivery price is just £1, which I think is a bargain to just brighten up a piece of clothing and give it a pop of colour. I've seen clothes with similar patches on them recently on Boohoo and in Topshop and they are asking silly amounts of money.

I was able to choose which iron patches* I would like to review so I chose a Watermelon iron on patch, just because I just really like Watermelon and obviously I had to get the cat one because I'm basically a crazy cat lady lol.

The quality of both of them is so good for the price! Also, they have adhesive on the back of them so they are easy to apply.

I followed this link here.

I've only used the Cat patch so far, just because I'm stuck between a few tops to put the Watermelon patch on. But when I decide on which to apply it to, I will post a photo on my instagram.

I love how it's brightened up a boring plain black top. It was super easy to apply. I used a cotton tea towel instead of a handkerchief over the top of the patch when I ironed it on and it turned out fine. I will admit I hate sewing, but you should sew the patches afterwards so that it improves the longevity of the patch. Overall I love my cute cat patch and it's definitely made my top look cuter.

So it's almost officially Spring. Yay! Time to break out everything pastel colours, especially the nail polishes! Today I'm writing about the KISS Manicure Kit* which I kindly received from Alex Silver PR to try out and review and also I'm to be showing my favourite nail polishes which I'll be wearing in Spring.

So in order to get my nails Spring ready, they were definitely in need of a manicure. Thankfully because of the KISS Manicure Kit I received, I've got everything I need.

Considering I think I'm quite an organised person, I'm one of those people who has a makeup bag full of nail polishes and my nail tools and I never do anything about it. So I'm always having to dig deep into the bag, trying to find all my tools. But this kit has everything I need in one place.

The Manicure kit includes -

  • Nail Scissors
  • Nail Brush
  • Nail Clippers
  • Cuticle Nipper
  • 4-Way Buffer
  • 3 Emery Boards
  • Cuticle Pusher/Cleaner
  • Double Sided Nail File
  • Double Sided Sapphire Nail File
  • 3 Manicure Sticks
  • It also comes with the handy on the go, clear travel pouch too!

I love the quality of everything that comes with the KISS Manicure Kit and the fact that everything which is metal in the kit is made from stainless steel and is not flimsy and easy to break (I'm very clumsy lol)

I really like the cute little, travel sized nail brush, the cuticle nippers because they are very sturdy and definitely the best ones I've owned. Also, I love the 4-way buffer because the "smooth" side made my nails lovely and shiny a lot quicker than other buffers I've used before.

After using everything I needed to use in the kit, My nails were looking all ready for Spring!

KISS products are available to buy from Superdrug, Boots and Asda.

You can follow KISS on twitter @KissProducts too! and you can a look at their website here too.

Spring Inspired Nails:

So even though I have tiny short nails (and I don't really like wearing fake nails) I still like to paint my nails. I think Spring is my favourite month for nail polishes because I find most pastel colours are flattering and easy to wear. Here are my top 5 favourite nail polishes that I will probably wear most in Spring.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour - Meet Me At Dusk

If you read my Body Shop Boxing Day Sale Haul then you will have seen this already on my blog. But I love this! It's a nice easy to wear colour and it stays on well fairly well.

Barry M Nail Paint - White
I've seen a lot of people sporting white painted nails lately and I thought I may give it a try in spring because it goes with many colours. I do like this nail polish but because it is white, it is a little streaky and it needs about 3 coats to get a good coverage.

Rimmel Rita Ora - Bestival Blue and Go Wild-er-ness
I was a tad obsessed with these nail polishes from Rimmel last year and I think I'm going to be the same this year. They stay on for so long and they have so many different colours to choose from. I wore these through Spring and Summer last year and I always got complimented and asked what I'm wearing on my nails. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

NYC Shine in a Minute Nail Polish - Statue Of Liberty
I picked this up a while ago from Superdrug but they no longer sell NYC anymore. I think you can still pick up their products in selected Lloyds Pharmacies though. But this is just a pretty, pastel green shade that compliments many other colours and just a perfect spring colour to wear.

Hope you liked this post!
What are your favourite nail polishes to wear in Spring?

Don't forget to check out the KISS website too! - They sell false nails, false eyelashes, manicure/pedicure kits, cosmetics and more.

*Product sent to me to review, all opinions are my own

Because I have quite fair eyebrows, I struggle to find brow products that are right for me and I feel really self-conscious if I leave the house without my eyebrows on. I'll admit I'm not brilliant at doing my eyebrows and they usually look like a pair of sisters who've had a big argument lol. I'd rather use products which are fairly easy to use, drugstore prices and stay on for hours. So I bought/received these 3 products because they seem to pop up everywhere on blogs and YouTubers videos.

First up is the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in the shade Dark Brunette. I'd bought this because I'd read many reviews saying how it was basically a dupe to the Benefit Gimme Brow (which I love!). So obviously because the price tag different between them both was around £12, I had to try it out.

I knew about this when I had seen the reviews, but the length of the brush is just huge, it's really hard to work with. I understand the size of the product means you get more product than the Benefit Gimme Brow which let's face it, is a total rip off for the amount of product you get. But to the people who say the Brow Artist is easy to work with... how?!

The other few reasons I really don't like this product is because I think it smells like cheap children's makeup. You know the smell of those lipsticks, which were basically just glitter and Vaseline together? It literally smells like that. Also no matter how many times I've tried to persevere with this product, I always find it leaves little clumps in my eyebrows and it's really annoying.

Next is the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil in shade Brownie Points*. If you've been following and reading my blog for a while now, then you'll know I usually love Soap and Glory products! I was very excited and thankful when I received the Eyes Makeup Set for Christmas last year (which contained the Supercat Eyeliner, Thick and Fast Collagen Mascara, Crazy Sexy Khol and Archery Brow Tint and Pencil) it was a great gift to receive and I was excited to try more of the Soap and Glory make up range.

I don't hate everything about this product, I do really like the pencil side of it and I understand when people say it's the next best thing to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, the shade I received in the Eyes Box is a tad too light but I can still work with it. But what I really don't like is the brow tint. It looks like an eyeliner pen! and it makes my eyebrow looks way too over the top and harsh looking. I just don't get it. Maybe I should try and use it as an eyeliner instead?

Finally is the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. Thankfully I didn't splurge on the full-size product and got the sample size in a magazine first. It's called Goof Proof but I find it so hard to work with! I mean I'll admit, I'm not great at doing my eyebrows. But this product is such an awkward shape and I find it to be so waxy and looks so unflattering when on. I've tried so many times to try to love it and it's just not doing it for me, sorry!

I thought I'd do this post instead of doing my usual reviews of things I've discovered and loved. Hope you don't hate me after writing this post and if I've mentioned one of your favourite brow products. I'm still yet to find my perfect brow product. If you have any recommendations then please do let me know in the comments!

#Lightly (Left), #Softly (Top Right), #Kinky (Bottom Right)

Today's post is all about my thoughts on these cruelty-free mink eyelashes from Beauty Atelier Shop. I kindly received the mink eyelashes to try out and review, as well as some other products which you can read all about in my First Impressions post here

Beauty Atelier sell high-quality makeup tools and also false eyelashes which are supplied by 88 Infinite Cosmetics. Everything they sell is handmade and cruelty-free. I love the cute, handmade vintage looking packaging of these products and the fact that everything they sell is named with a hashtag.

The Mink Lashes available are named -

I received #Lightly, #Softly and #Kinky to try out and review.

They are £19 per pair and should be able to be worn up to 20 times if washed carefully and looked after well.

The come in a plastic case and you can easily take the eyelashes out of the case and pop them back in the case again. The case keeps the lashes safe and looking neat and it also makes them great for travelling.

Also on the Beauty Atelier Shop website, you can buy:

ABH Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette £35
ABH Master Palette by Mario £26
Zoeva Brush Sets ranging from £22-£30

I have a promo code which Beauty Atelier Shop kindly gave me to share with my followers and readers which will give you free delivery if you use it! I will pop the code at the bottom of this post.

The first pair of lashes I tried was these #Lightly ones. The #Lightly lashes are very lightweight and natural looking. They were easy to apply and also to remove. They are perfect for everyday makeup, just to make your eyelashes look more fuller and fluttery (which I definitely need because my eyelashes are short and lack volume). These are probably my new favourite natural eyelashes.

These lashes are little more fuller and bolder than the #Lightly lashes but I really love them too. They again are very lightweight and easy to wear. They would look lovely with either everyday makeup or with a smoky eyed look but you could definitely wear them with a night out or party look too.

These eyelashes are a lot more dramatic than #Lightly and #Softly and they're are a little too dramatic for me personally. Because I have quite small eyes, I find dramatic eyelashes just don't suit me but they are very good quality like all of the Beauty Atelier products I received and they would definitely be great to wear on a night out/party.

If you fancy treating yourself or someone else to some products from Beauty Atelier Shop then I have a promo code which Beauty Atelier Shop have kindly given me so that all my followers and readers can get free delivery. The promo code is:

KIR 10

I have now tried and reviewed everything which Beauty Atelier Shop kindly sent to me. I have really loved trying their products and I love the packaging and handmade charm of everything they sell. My favourites from the products I received to review are definitely the #Perfectionist Makeup Sponge, the #Heartist Brush Cleaner, #Sexy Silk Lashes and the #Lightly and #Softly Mink Lashes. I definitely recommend trying their products!

Collagen+ Beauty Milk Review *

in , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 18.2.17

Today I'm writing all about the Collagen+ Beauty Milk which I kindly received from The Protein Drinks co. to try out and review on my blog.

What is Collagen+ Beauty Milk?

"Collagen+ Beauty Milk is truly unique collagen beauty drink enriched with essential vitamins, potent antioxidants and hunger fighting protein! Enjoy at breakfast or in between meals as a versatile, healthy snack. Consume daily for visible results." - Taken from their website.

  • It contains nearly 12g of high-quality protein from collagen and fresh milk protein sources
  • Can improve skin elasticity and hydration because of the hydrolyzed collagen inside
  • It contains green tea extract which is a powerful and natural antioxidant
  • It's bursting with vitamins and minerals to help to keep your immune system happy

My thoughts after trying Collagen+ Beauty Milk*

First of all, I really like the packaging as it's red and quite eye catching. It has a good, easy to understand description with easy to read fonts.

Even though I was excited and intrigued to try these out, I did think the drink was going to taste like one of those yogurts which contain healthy bacteria, with all little bits of strawberries in and I really don't like those. Thankfully, the drink is smooth and tastes just like a Strawberry Milkshake and it only contains 112 calories! Yay!

I've been having one of these a day, as a snack in the afternoon over the past week and they definitely keep your hunger off and they are so tasty! They'd be great if you've been pressing the snooze button one too many times in the morning, as they are the perfect size to pop in your bag and go. Since I've been using these I've noticed that my skin is looking and feeling a lot smoother too.

If you're looking for a new health drink to try out and you like milkshakes, then definitely give these a try!

They are available to buy from Holland & Barrett, Tesco, Ocado and Superdrug.

So today's post is a little review on the new Colab Paradise Dry Shampoo, which I'm sure you've probably seen all over your Instagram and Twitter feeds by now.

So the main reason why I bought this is because of the packaging (obviously, how could I resist the flamingo print?!). It's so cute and eye catching. I just love it!

I do like Colab dry shampoo but I do prefer Batiste, just because Colab seems to leave a white residue in my hair. Whereas most Batiste dry shampoos I buy, don't. But because this one states "amazing oil absorption without white residue" I thought I'd try it out and see if it does what it says.

It literally does smell like Paradise - It smells very summer-like because of the tropical coconut scent. I also really like the fact that it doesn't leave a white residue like their previous released dry shampoos and it doesn't make your hair feel like it has product build up on it either.

Overall I love everything about this dry shampoo and I'm definitely going to be buying it again!

Have you tried this dry shampoo yet?
If so, what did you think?

I'm going to get straight to the point. My skin really annoys me. It goes from oily to a combination of dry and oily, to being fairly sensitive in the matter of days/weeks. So even though I have a lot of different skin care products, most of them don't work perfectly for me. So I'm always up for trying new products to see if they do work for me.

So when Brodie and Stone contacted me asking if I would like to try out some of the Newtons Labs products, I definitely wasn't going to say no!

Newton Labs sell natural skincare products which are made for spot prone skin. They contain Tea Tree, Salicylic Acid, Charcoal, Witch Hazel and natural microbeads.

Their products are designed to:
  • Thoroughly cleanse and clear pores
  • Prevent the build-up of dead skin cells
  • Leave great-looking and shine-free skin
  • Remove the excess grease and oil that can cause spots

The day the Newtons Labs products arrived, I had literally woken up to one of the worst breakouts I've had in years. Even though my confidence was at an all-time low because of the breakout, it was the perfect time to put the products I'd received, to the test. So that's what I did! Here's what I thought about each product -

Cleansing Cream Wash

The Cleansing Cream Wash contains Tea Tree, Salicylic Acid and Eucalyptus. It's been made to deeply cleanse and unclog pores without overdrying the skin, it can also be use to remove makeup. It's also cooling and uplifting and also suitable for sensitive skin.

I will admit, I found it kind of weird that the instructions read -  "Apply to a dry face by gently massaging in small circles. Rinse off with lukewarm water."  I don't think I've ever used a cream cleanser which says you should apply to a dry face, but there's a first time for everything. So I did as it said and my skin felt nice and fresh and it seemed to leave my skin with a slight blur effect which I liked. It's Parabens free. Also just want to add that it does smell of Tea Tree and Eucalyptus, even though it does state on the tube that it's "Fragrance-Free" but that doesn't really bother me.

Exfoliating Daily Wash

The Exfoliating Daily Wash contains micro-beads and antibacterial Tea Tree to effectively deep cleanser pores and helps clear spots. It's been made to gently clear pores and purify the skin, leaving it fresh and healthy looking. Also to remove oil and dead skin cells that can block pores and cause spots and get rid of hidden makeup residues and dirt for visibly clearer skin.

To use this you have to wet your skin with warm water to lather it up (it does lather up well!), then massage gently in circles and then rinse off thoroughly and pat dry. I really like this exfoliating wash, as it's gentle but you can tell it's working. I've been using both the Exfoliating Daily Wash and the Cleansing Cream Wash each day, I usually use the cream cleanser in the morning and then the daily exfoliator at night.

Overall since using these cleansers, my skin is looking a lot clearer and healthier. Both of the products seem to leave a slight blur effect on my skin and make my skin feel soft, fresh and clean.

Spot Zapping Gel

Another product I received is the Spot Zapping Gel. Again it contains Tea-Tree and Witch Hazel as well as clearing Salicylic Acid to help promote healthy-looking, clear skin.

After cleansing your face, you pop this on and it will reduce angry red spots and prevent any which are forming. I definitely think this started to work in the allocated time of 4 hours which it says on the tube and my spots definitely looked reduced hours after using this!

Nose Pore Strips

These Nose Strips from Newton Labs come in a pack of 6 and are enriched with Tea Tree to help prevent spots whilst the Witch Hazel soothes and tightens pores. I do love a good nose strip! I tend to pick up mine from B&M, the pound shop or Superdrug usually.

You apply these like any other nose strip and leave the strip to dry for about 10 minutes. I  left mine on for about 15 minutes (oops!) and it did remove some blackheads, but I don't feel like it got all my blackheads out.

Overall I do really like Newton Labs Skincare range, I'll definitely be continuing to use their products.

If you're interested in trying Newtons Labs skincare range then you can pick them up in Superdrug, B&M, Savers and Home Bargains and they range between £3.99 - £4.99 each.

(Also would just like to say that the Nose Pore Strips and the Spot Zapping Gel do come in a box too)

Hope you liked this post!
