I'm back again with a Christmas 2016 Gift Guide. This one is for gifts under £25! So if you still haven't bought all of your Christmas presents yet then scroll down for some inspiration. Also you can have a nosey at my under £10 gift guide here.

So there's my under £25 gift guide for Christmas 2016. I'll be posting my usual posts over December but I will add in some festive kind of posts too. Can't believe it's the 1st of December on Thursday! November has flown by! Hope this has gave you some inspiration for Christmas present ideas if you haven't got all of yours yet. Which ones have you got your eyes on? I love that check print dressing gown from Asda, Soap and Glory Eyes Box because it's a bargain! and them Spectrum Brushes even though I've literally gone make up brush mad over Black Friday/Cyber Monday and I have enough probably for a good few years now lol! (not even kidding)

So I've jumped on the blogger bandwagon and decided to do a Christmas gift guide. I've picked out a range of different gift ideas. I'm only going to do a gift guide "For Her" because I'm useless at buying presents for men. It's usually a gift set and some chocolate if I'm being honest. I'm hopeless lol. I am going to do an under £25 gift guide which I'll probably post next week sometime. But for now here's the under £10 gift guide. (Some of these are even under £5!)

So there's my under £10 gift guide for Christmas 2016. I've really enjoyed doing this post. Looking forward to doing the £25 and under gift guide! Should be up next week sometime so keep a lookout for that post. Hope this has gave you some ideas for presents (or your Christmas wish list lol) Which ones are your favourites here? I love the Cat beanbag, the flamingo jewellery holder and the New Look mini rollerball collection x

So Black Friday is a pretty new thing over here in the UK. A few years ago when it started big, it seemed like people were being possessed and we had people being shown on the news literally having full on fights for TV's and falling over each other (lol?) Which is why I would rather wake up early, stay snug at home, in my comfy pyjamas and try and get my deals online. So I thought I'd share my little tips on preparing yourself for Black Friday.

Save, Save, Save
I know when this post goes up that Black Friday will be just under 2 weeks away on the 25th of November and you can't really save a huge amount of money up in that time. But if you can save money between now and then or hold back on spending money on things you don't REALLY need right now, then you're probably going to be a happy bunny when you get yourself some bargains!

Back Up Pennies!
Also having a little bit of back up money is a good idea too, just because you never know what other things you're going to see that may catch your eyes. The best way to do this is think that you only have X amount to spend to get your deals but really you've got another X amount to spend for extra goodies. If that makes sense? Idk

Bookmark and Don't Give Into Temptation
I did this last year and I've done it again this year. I've gone around websites (New Look, Boots, Superdrug, Asda etc) and bookmarked things I really want or want to buy as gifts for Christmas and now I'm just going to wait and see if they get a discount or go on offer on Black Friday because there's nothing more annoying than buying something and then seeing it go on offer days later, right?

Christmas Is Just Over 6 Weeks Away!
Like what I've just wrote above, this is the perfect opportunity to get your Christmas pressies sorted (and save some money!) and maybe even bag yourself a few more treats too without feeling too guilty! Hello 3 for 2 offers! I like you a lot.

Browse Early
If you look around now, things that are already in the sales will more than likely go a little more cheaper during Black Friday. Because companies know that their sites will be busy and we all get the impulse to put more than we really want or need in our baskets. So if they reduce items even more for one day only, then people are going to give in and buy them. Plus companies are more than likely just trying and needing to get rid of old stock to make room for new.

If you know people who work in stores that have items that you're interested in hopefully getting cheaper during Black Friday then ask them if they know of anything that's going to be on offer and they may spill the beans lol.

So there's my tips on preparing yourself for Black Friday. Hope you liked reading this post and If you're going to hit the high streets instead of staying snug at home, then good luck and try not to get yourselves on the news. haha x

October Favourites

in , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 8.11.16

Considering it's just a little over 2 weeks since I posted "Favourite Things I've Bought Over The Past Month" which was basically a late September favourites with some added things I'd been using at the beginning of October. I thought this would be really hard to write. But these are things I've discovered or rediscovered in the last 2 weeks of October. So I'm quite shocked/impressed that I've managed to gather 12 favourites in two weeks. This may even be the longest monthly favourites post I've done?! So here goes...

Soap and Glory Hand Food
This has been my go to hand moisturiser for the past year or so. It smells lovely, it dries fast and keeps my hands feeling lovely and soft and the scent is the Original Pink scent too. I literally haven't got a bad thing to say about it. There's always one in my bag. I tend to buy the smaller travel size one and they're only £2.50.

Make Up Gallery Well Polished Cuticle Oil (Pound shop brand)
This stuff is so good considering it was only £1 from the pound shop. I always get dry, brittle cuticles and when it gets to this time of the year it gets worse but this sorts it out and makes them much softer. I use to buy Lemony Fluttery from Lush but the result is almost the same for a fraction of the price.

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry and Vanilla Hair Spray
I'm usually a Tresemme hair spray kinda girl but I bought this when I happened to see it on offer on ASOS a month or two ago and thought I'd give it a go. I think it was either £3 or £4. It's a very summery kind of scent to me and it lingers for hours after application. It holds my hair in place really well and I don't use as much as I used to when I was using my go to Tresemme hair sprays.

Dream Cream Moisturiser
I got this in my boxing day haul last year. I didn't really have the intention to buy the Home For Christmas gift set but if you don't know what Lush's website is like on boxing day... it's a nightmare.  It crashes every 2 seconds and you end up just clicking on anything, checking out and hoping for the best that the transaction has gone through. So that's how I wound up with this amazing moisturiser. It's similar to the Twilight scent. It helps when my psoriasis sometimes flares up on my elbows which I seem to get more this time of the year and also the scent is so calming and helps me to get to sleep.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter
I feel like I should've just called this post "Kirsty's current favourite moisturisers" lol. This is the same scent as the Hand Food (Shea Butter and Marshmallow) but the consistency is a lot thicker because of it being a body butter. Basically it's just a bloody brilliant moisturiser which smells amazing and dries really fast. Cannot fault it.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in shade Iridescent Gold
I've only just started wearing highlighter over the past year. Just because I used to have really oily skin. But since trying and testing new products out, my skin has now changed to a combination  of oily and dry. So I feel more confident to wear highlighter. This product can make you look as if you're trying to look like a Golden Christmas bauble if you're a little heavy handed with your brush, I'm not going to lie. But since watching an NikkieTutorials video about applying contour and highlighter, I've started to wear a little under my blusher instead of it kind of sitting on top of my blush and looking out of place. It blends them together and gives off a nice glowy look. I also apply it under my eyebrows, tip of my nose and on my cupids bow. For for £3 at Superdrug this is a bargain. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a budget highlighter.

I forgot to take a picture of this, oops!

Clippers Snore and Peace Teabags (20 per box)
I love drinking tea that helps to promote sleep because I am a really bad sleeper. I can sometimes be still up at 4am, clock watching. It's something I've dealt with for literally years. I have a really bad habit of overthinking anything and everything at night. But I always tend to try out different "sleep teas" and see if they help. I don't know if it's the placebo effect or they actually help though. The usual sleep/calming teas contain Chamomile and Lavender etc but let's fact it, they smell nice but they don't always taste nice. But this one contains the usual Chamomile and Lavender but has Lemongrass, Lemon Balm and Spearmint too. The mint isn't really strong but it stops the Chamomile taste which I don't really like. Another reason why I like these is because they are individually wrapped, so they're good to pop in your bag and go. I don't just use them for helping me sleep either. I find them good when you're feeling a little bit stressed out. They don't work if you're wide awake at 10pm and want to be asleep by 10.30pm but if you're feeling a little sleepy already and you drink one of these, then you'll definitely on track for a good nights sleep. Zzzz

Pretty Wrinkle Care Gel Eye Patches
So first of all... I didn't buy these for wrinkles! I just thought it'd help to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes and  it has helped a lot so far. You get 4 treatments in a pack and I've used two of the treatments so far. I got these ones from B&M for £1 but you can get them on Boohoo and on Amazon for £2 or £2.50 if you don't have a B&M near by. Like I've wrote earlier in this post, I usually don't sleep well. So I'm always walking around with dark, purple circles under my eyes.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Masque
I was only using my Loreal Elvive Fibrology Hair Masque but I fancied a change so I bought this when it was on offer for £2 in Boots! and it's been one of my fave products over the past month. You know them days when you can't really be bothered to straighten your hair after you've quickly blow dried it but you don't want to be walking around with your hair resembling a birds nest? then this is what you need in your life. It's usual price is £5.78 and I would still pay full price for this. I wouldn't say it makes my hair perfectly pin straight. But it feels so soft, is more manageable and looks loads more healthier.

MUA Lip Switch Matte Shine Duo in shade Persian Plum

I bought this at the end of last year/beginning of this year because I think because it was in the sale and the fact Purple is my fave colour. I ordered it online and when it arrived I tried it and thought it just wasn't me and I've just thrown it in my make up bag and kind of forgotten about it. But over the past few months I've been trying different make up looks out and being more daring with my lip colours (and eyeshadow colours) So I've been using this and it's the perfect autumn/winter shade. They don't sell this shade anymore in the switch duos. But I have found an £1 MUA lipstick that's really similar here

I started watching this at the beginning of October and I've got one more episode of season one left to watch. I'm still so far behind! It did take a few episodes to get into this and figure out who's who and etc. But I love TV shows/movies that are based on things which have really happened. I'd rather watch a TV series/movie than watch and listen to an historian talking about what happened on a documentary. I didn't learn about Poldark at school either so the series is interesting and educational at the same time to me.

Black Mirror

I only started watching this because it kept popping up on my twitter feed. Everyone seemed to be talking about the new season. I knew it was a dark kind of series and that it was an anthology series but I didn't know it was a different story each episode. I thought it was like American Horror Story and how each season is based on different things. But I've watched the first 4 episodes of Season 3 and I'm hooked completely. The first episode called Nosedive and the third episode called Shut Up And Dance are probably the best I've watched so far. Really recommend this series if you're looking for something new to binge watch this winter.

So there's my October Favourites! I can't believe we're already in November... and just less than 7 weeks until Christmas! What were your October Favourites?

Also just want to add that I'm sorry for the bad quality/lighting on the photos in this post. I thought I'd be able to get everything I wanted to get done and still have time to take the blog photos but the dark nights have truly set in and my room was basically like a cave at 4pm lol x

I got this Clean and Clear Hint of Tint Cover and Correct Cream sample in a Superdrug order about month or so.

It's an oil free product and contains Salicylic Acid. They claim it "Instantly conceals spots, redness & marks with a breathable touch of coverage that lasts for up to 7 hours (clinical study, 22 women). Your skin is lightly hydrated and left looking clearer, smoother and healthier! Suitable for sensitive skin. Will not clog pores." (product description from Superdrug)

I'll just say now that I don't use tinted moisturiser a lot because no matter which ones I buy, the colour is either very orange and doesn't suit my pale skin or they don't cover well at all. If I do ever go for the tinted moisturiser, then I usually use my moisturiser and a foundation and mix them up together. Just because I know they'll be a better colour match and an okay cover for last minute make up.

I received the light shade sample. When I first saw the colour I automatically thought "oh god, another orange coloured one. One that won't suit my Wednesday Addams skin colour" But I was wrong. I used about half of the sample and applied it with my dampened Real Techniques Sponge. It covered most of my imperfections well, apart from a few angry red spots I've got right now. It did feel a little sticky for the first 10 minutes or so after application but then it dried fine and It did make my skin have a little healthy glow, which I always like. It didn't feel as if I had any product on. So I agree with the description that it's a breathable product. I like the fact that it has Salicylic Acid in it because right now my new favourite cleanser which is also from Superdrug contains Salicylic Acid and it's a miracle worker I swear. My skin has changed so much since I began using the product. So I feel using that cleanser and this as a tinted moisturiser or a BB cream would be a good match. It lasted from around 2pm until around 6pm and I was cleaning and tidying in most of that time, so I think it lasted really well. The price of this is £6.99 for 50ml. I do think it's a tad overpriced because the foundation I'm using right now is £7.99 and that's an medium/full cover product.

The Verdict:
I do like this product. I think if I was looking for a new tinted moisturiser/bb cream/primer then I'd definitely go and buy this. I do think it's a little pricey for the size of the product and the fact that its a very light coverage but I liked how it made my skin look more clearer and feel lightweight. If you're one of the luckier ones who have clear skin and don't need/want to use foundation then I'd definitely recommend this product. I think if I saw it on an good offer I'd buy it too.
