You may have heard the term ‘Self Care Sunday’ used by bloggers and Instagram stars recently. It’s a new trendy term used to describe taking some time to pamper and treat yourself once a week, normally on a Sunday. This could be anything from going for a
walk to mindfulness, or even just spending an extra hour in bed if your body needs it!

The benefits of taking time out for a bit of self-care can be huge. You’ll be able to de-stress, unwind from your week, and get prepared for the week ahead. Time spent looking after yourself can also make you feel happier, calmer and able to sleep better. Sounds great, right?

Read on for our easy tips to have a blissful #SelfCareSunday.

Ultimate Self Care Sunday Routine -

Have a lie-in

This is probably the easiest way to take care of yourself. Spending a little extra time in bed is a great way to recuperate after a tough week. Listen to what your body is telling you - if you need an extra couple of hours in bed, go for it!

Make a to-do list

Simply writing out a to-do list for the week ahead can help you to feel calmer about tackling your tasks. It’s easy to feel a little anxious when it seems like you have lots to do and no time to do it, but breaking it down into manageable tasks will help it to feel a lot less daunting.

Mindfulness is a very simple form of meditation which can help to train your mind to be a little calmer, help you to reduce stress and manage the symptoms of mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression. The free app Headspace is a great place to start, or you can find plenty of short guides on YouTube.

Prepare some nutritious food

Making sure you’re eating well is a great way to show yourself some love. Why not try a smoothie bowl with lots of yummy toppings for a quick nutritional boost, or whip up a big stir fry for a hearty dinner.

Figure out how to fit more self-care into your week

Although it’s great to set aside a chunk of time once per week to give yourself a little attention, spend a little time figuring out how to fit more self-care into your week.

Try adding a multivitamin such as Wellwoman from Vitabiotics to your daily routine, or get off the bus a bit earlier and walk to work. Little changes like these will have a real impact on your mental and physical health and will give you a little boost throughout the week.

Natural Charisma are a new UK based natural beauty brand who have just launched their first product line. I really like that they care about fair trade and have chosen Moroccan farmers who pay their hard working Berber women a fair wage. The seeds are imported from Morocco and then they press the oil under the highest UK and EU standards in the UK and then mix it up into shampoo and conditioner in London.

All of the products they offer are cruelty-free and free of all toxic chemicals (parabens, SLS, SSL) which are used in most of the cheap shampoo and conditioners which are easy to pick up in places such as Superdrug and Boots which quite frankly, aren't great for your hair.

I'm a huge fan of argan oil (and coconut oil) for my hair as it's quite dry and frizzy most of the time, so when I got the opportunity to work with Natural Charisma I was excited, I love hearing from new brands which have products which really interest me.

I've been trying out their fair-trade organic Argan & Baobab oil shampoo and conditioner* and in today's post I'm sharing with you my thoughts about both of the products.

So what's inside and why are the chosen natural ingredients good for your hair?

Organic Argan Oil - incredibly hydrating, nourishing and good for your hair because it's full of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Omega 6 Fatty acids and Linoleic acid.

Baobab Oil - Prized for its unique ability to prevent the formation of harmful free radicals and can cause damage to your hair. It helps to keep your natural oils and also protect your hair from any environmental threats.

It also contains Pomegranate Extract which makes the Shampoo & Conditioner smell gorgeous and fresh and it also helps to make your hair stronger and just all around healthier. They also contain Pro-Vitamin B5 which prevents hair loss and adds thickness and volume to the hair. Lastly, it contains Roman Chamomile which is an effective and natural solution for hair lice and dandruff and relief from scalp irritation.

My thoughts on the Organic Argan & Baobab oil shampoo & conditioner -

First of all, like I've already mentioned both the Shampoo & Conditioner smell lovely which I think is down to the Pomegranate Extract. The scent also reminds me of something from when I was younger but I can't remember what it's from which is really annoying. But they both smell nice and fresh and I think most people will like the scent.

The shampoo which comes in a 300ml bottle and it feels very lightweight and easy to use, it lathers up well which I really like in shampoos. I have recently started to double shampoo again but with this, I don't find the need to as the shampoo really does give my hair a good cleanse with the first shampoo and I don't have to do a double cleanse. I leave it to sink in for a few minutes just to let it get to work and deeply cleanse my hair and then rinse it out.

The conditioner comes with a pump which I do like and personally prefer because it's just easier to use and you can also lock the pump if needed too. The conditioner is on the thicker side but a little goes a long way which is always a good thing. I also have found with most thicker conditioners they do weigh my hair down a lot but this doesn't and it makes my hair lovely and shiny.

I've found both products together really help to control and tame my frizzy hair and because of this, I haven't had to style my hair with my curlers or straighteners  because my hair has just been behaving and easier to manage and basically doesn't look like a bird's nest (like usual lol). I think because you don't have to use a lot of the products to make them work to their full potential, they are worth picking up because they will last you a while.

You can pick up the Natural Charisma Shampoo & Conditioner bundle at £24.95 here

I haven't done one of these posts since August so I'm back with a new one! As always I'm not writing this post to brag or anything at all, I do get sent things but I obviously buy a lot of beauty products within the space of a few months, so I guess it's kind of a sneak peek at what's new in my beauty stash and products which you're probably going to see featured on my blog at some point in the near future.

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I've been eyeing up this face mask for a while now, so when there was an offer on for 30% off I decided to pick it up and finally try it out. It smells very citrusy and uplifting and it does tingle a little once it's on, I also really like that you can tell when and where it's dried. It's quite an exfoliating scrub so it's kind of a 2-in-1 product, it is quite messy to remove it but I can see a difference in my skin right after using it because my skin feels so soft and it just looks radiant. So I would say if you're debating on buying this do it!

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Icons*
Probably the most exciting package I've received in my blogging journey so far - A PR package from Charlotte Tilbury! I've kind of been in shock about this since I got the email last month. I've never tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury before and I had already put a few products on my Christmas Wishlist because I wanted to kind of see what the hype is about. I received 2 things in my package including the Limited Edition Beauty Icons Box which contains 5 products inside  - Mini Magic Cream, Mini Full Fat Lashes Mascara, Mini Wonderglow, Mini K.I.S.S.I.N.G - Penelope Pink and Lip Cheat - Pillow Talk. I'm really looking forward to trying everything out and they'll be a blog post all about my first impressions of Charlotte Tilbury products in December.

Essence Moonlight Cream Eyeshadows & Fresh & Fit Foundation

Essence very kindly sent me over a lot of their new products recently to feature in my New Releases From Essence post. In the package, I received the new Moonlight Cream Eyeshadow in the shade 03 Cosmic* and I've also picked up the shade 04 Glided since and they are honestly a dream to work with. They're easy to blend and to build up the colour intensity and they are only £3 each. I also picked up the Fresh & Fit Foundation which I've been really liking recently too, it smells lovely and fresh and it's so good considering it's only £5!

Bloomtown The Grove* Infused Oil & The Rose Garden Infused Oil

I've not tried anything from Bloomtown before but they recently sent me a Christmas Bauble to feature in my upcoming Beauty Gift Guide and inside I received the Bloomtown The Grove Infused Oil and I really like it, it's a lovely, uplifting scent and it lasts a good amount of time on my skin. So I decided to pick up The Rose Garden Infused Oil too which has a light, powdery rose scent. I've really been enjoying using them both and I think they would make nice little stocking fillers for Christmas.

I Heart Makeup Chocolate Elixir Palette
This was on my recent Beauty Wishlist and guess what? I caved and bought it even though I'm trying to be on a spending ban for the next month so I can save up some money for the Christmas/Boxing Day sales. After watching this video, I realised that it is probably the best affordable dupe to the ABH Modern Renaissance right now and I just needed it in my life because I can't justify spending £43 on an eyeshadow palette rn (especially when the pans are so tiny too!).

I received some of the ImPRESS Gel Nails to feature in an upcoming (Christmas, woo!) blog post. I rarely wear false nails because I do find them a little annoying if I'm being totally honest but these are definitely my favourite to wear and they are so easy to apply when I do want/need to wear false nails. I like that there's a good choice of designs too and they don't break the bank.

Glossier Cloud Paints in shades Beam & Dusk
I did it. I jumped on the bandwagon and picked up a few things from Glossier when they came to the UK. I definitely picked up the Cloud Paints because of the cute, instagrammable packaging more so than anything. I also really like that Glossier is all about minimum, natural looking makeup because that's more my cup of tea. I have done a full review of the products I recently picked up here.

I'm going to get straight to the unfortunate truth about my hair, it's everything you don't want... It's frizzy, dry, flat and pretty thin, I know poor me lol. So when the Lee Stafford BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Hair range* dropped through my letterbox, I couldn't wait to try it out and see if it would work wonders on my hair.

I received the BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Shampoo, Conditioner and also the Plumping Cream. First of all which I was really happy about it that they smell the same as the AirDry Range I reviewed a few months ago, I'm rubbish at describing scents but it's not too floral but not too masculine, it's just somewhere in between and I really like it - like I said in my AirDry review, if it was a perfume, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Obviously, the first product I tried is the BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Shampoo*. I have started to shampoo my hair twice again (like how you're "supposed" to) just because I can see a difference when I shampoo just the once and when I double up on shampoo. So I've also been double shampooing whilst using the BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller shampoo, it lathers up really nicely and feels nice. The one thing I will say is to not go overboard on the amount of product you use because like other shine-adding shampoos it can make your hair look too shiny and almost a little greasy if you apply too much.

The BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Conditioner* is a nice consistency as it's not too creamy but it's creamy enough if that makes sense. I only leave it on for about 2-3 minutes and my hair already feels like it's had a good conditioning after rinsing out the product. It's definitely a good one to use if you're in a rush.

The Plumping Cream* is a great travel-friendly product because it's one of those products you can squeeze in your bag somewhere if needed. It's got a pump applicator which I personally prefer. I use about 3-4 pumps and then spread it all over the palm of my hands and then get right in the roots of my hair and then blow dry my hair. It definitely gives my hair a nice natural looking lift.

Overall I do like the products, I'm still a little on the fence about the shampoo because it's very easy to apply too much and then it makes my hair looks too shiny/a little greasy. The conditioner is nice, it definitely makes my hair feel soft and easy to work with and I really like the plumping cream, it gives me enough natural lift at my roots without having to put any effort in, apart from blow drying which I think is great.

You can pick up the BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Shampoo and Conditioner for £6.99 each here and the BiGGer, FATTer, Fuller Plumping Cream for £7.99 here.

New Releases From Essence!

in , , , by Kirsty Milward, 21.11.17

Today's post is a pretty exciting one as I'm going to be writing about the majority of the latest product releases from one of my favourite brands - Essence. They have kindly sent me over some samples of the new products and I've also picked some up from Wilko recently too. There are lots of new exciting things like some gorgeous cream eyeshadows, metal shock lip paints, new glowy base products and more... so grab a hot beverage and snack because this post is going to be pretty long but totally worth reading if you're looking for some new, affordable makeup!

First up is the Fresh & Fit Healthy Glow Primer RRP £3.50 which is a lovely, glowy primer and it just wakes up your face instantly. It smells nice and fresh too because of the cranberry water present and it's a great primer to use first thing in the morning. They've also released the Fresh & Fit Healthy Glow Foundation RRP £5 to go alongside the primer. I picked up the shade 10 Ivory which I believe is the lightest shade and it's so easy to blend out and it's a great shade for super pale skin. I just can't believe that it only cost £5 and it's in a glass bottle!

I also picked up the Correct To Perfect CC Multi Benefits Pearls RRP £4 because I've never used colour correcting pearls before so I was intrigued to try them out. They definitely add a healthy glow to your face and if you have clear skin and don't like to wear a lot of makeup but just want to add a little something then you'll probably love these CC Pearls. If I'm having a minimal makeup day then I like to pop on some concealer and use the CC Pearls as a kind of powder over the top of the concealer to add a nice glow and then add some mascara.

They've released a lot of new eye products including the Metal Shock Eyeshadows RRP £3.50 I own 04 Supernova* which is a very unique kind of colour it's a grey-blue colour with silver and gold reflects, it dries down fast so you do have to work quickly but I do really like the formula and I there's a good range of shades to choose from.

They've also released more eyeshadows, I have the Moonlight Eyes Cream Eyeshadow - 03 Cosmic RRP £3* and also the Moonlight Eyes Cream Eyeshadow - 04 Glided RRP £3 and they are both so pretty and so easy to apply and blend. Cosmic is the most stunning purple-brown shade with blue glitter reflects and Glided is a lovely copper shade. You can either use them for a wash of colour on your lids or apply more layers to intensify the colours and believe me the colours really do pop once you've built them up a little. I also am a huge fan of the cute packaging!

There's another new mascara available which is the Instant Volume Boost Mascara - Intense Black RRP £3*. I own a few of the Essence mascaras now and I don't know what they put in them but they seem to work for my stubborn lashes. This one also works for my lashes, it adds length and volumises, it does clump a little but it's not too bad and for the price is a complete steal.

If you want to add some glitter in your life or well, lashes and brows then there's now the Vibrant Shock Lash & Brow Gel Mascara. I think these would be great for parties or festivals (or Christmas time!) I have the shade 05 Copper Up RRP £2.80* and it's very pretty and I like that the wand is on the smaller size so you have better control when applying. There's also a new eyeliner which is Superlast 18hr Eyeliner - Deep Black RRP £2.50* I personally don't like liquid eyeliners because I find them quite hard to use and sometimes they don't get on with my skin but if you're looking a super cheap liquid eyeliner then maybe you should give this a try.

Another new product I really like is the Metal Chrome Blush in shade 10 My Name Is Gold, Rose Gold RRP £3* I would say it's more of a golden highlighter on my skin but either way, It's very pretty and I just love the name, I think this is going to be a staple in my makeup collection in Spring/Summer.

Because my lips have been feeling quite dry lately when I saw the Glossy Love Butter Sticks I had to try one out. I picked up the shade 02 Sweet Frosting RRP £2.50 and it's so nice and comfortable to wear and it also smells like cake which is a thumbs-up from me (lol). I'm definitely going to pick up more of the Glossy Love Butter Sticks! (There's also Matt Love Butter Sticks available too). I've also been using the Soft Contouring Lipliner in the shade 08 Big Proposal RRP £1* with the Glossy Love Butter Stick and you can also wear it alone.

In addition to the Metal Shock Eyeshadows there's some Metal Shock Lip Paints. I have the shade 04 Mercury RRP £3.30* which is a stunning kind of rose gold shade. I've been applying a small amount over darker lipsticks to give off a metallic ombre effect. There's also the Vibrant Shock Lip Paints, I have the shade 03 Red Viper RRP £3.30* and I think it's a great shade for this time of the year. They both smell very fruity which I personally really like.

There are also some fab new nail products including the Brushed Metals Nail Polishes, I have the shade 05 I'm Cool With It RRP £2* and it's honestly one of the prettiest nail polishes I own, it's a metallic blue with a purple shift and I just love it. I'm definitely going to pick up some more from the Brushed Metals Range. If you love glitter then you'll love the Holo Rainbow Nail Polishes, I have the shade 01 Hello Holo RRP £2.80* and it's definitely one I'm going to be wearing a lot around Christmas time which is when I tend to reach for more glittery nail polishes. There's also the Metal Shock Nail Powders and I have the shade 03 I'm So Fancy RRP £3* it is a bit messy but it's fun to use. I like to use mine over dark purple shades to add a metallic sheen. Note: It is quite hard to remove but totally worth it. After applying the Metal Shock Nail Powder you should use the Metal Shock Sealing Top Coat RRP £3* to keep everything nice and in place and you can also use the Metal Shock top coat for other nail polishes too.

Top to Bottom - Metal Shock Eyeshadow - Supernova, Moonlight Eyes Cosmic and Glided, Metal Chrome Blush and Fresh & Fit Foundation
I hope you've enjoyed reading this post! There's honestly no product here that I would say don't buy, because I think they are all great for the price and there's something for everyone. It just shows you don't have to spend a fortune to get some good quality makeup which is also cruelty-free! Which of the products do you like the look of the most?

A few weeks ago I received an unexpected parcel from CrownBrush and inside was the stunning Pro Neutral Eyeshadow Palette* which I was so excited to try out as soon as I laid my eyes on it. The shades inside are just my cup of tea - light golds, coppers, pinks, mauves, orange-golds and some lovely browns. Basically everything you're looking for in an Autumnal/Winter palette. I personally like those kinds of colours because I think my make my blue eyes "pop".

There's 12 spotlight shimmer/foiled shades (each with a full 1.5" diameter of shadow) and also 8 transition shades which compliment the spotlight shades perfectly.

I've been using this quite a lot over the past few weeks and I just love it. I would say that the spotlight shimmer/foiled shades are more pigmented than the mattes but the mattes are easy to build up and they are both really easy to blend out and work with. You can also use the foiled shades wet to intensify the colour even more. I think the shade choices in the palette are great, it really is a lovely palette for Autumn/Winter. I also think one of these palettes would make a great gift for someone who is a professional makeup artist or someone who is wanting to get into the trade or even just as a gift for a huge makeup lover. I also like that CrownBrush is completely cruelty-free and I think you get a great amount of product for the price.

There are four palettes in the Pro Eyeshadow Collection to choose from

Golden Peach, Bold, Neutral and Smoke and they are £24.99 each. You can check them out here

Time for another catch-up kind of post on what I've been reading, watching and listening to lately. I really enjoyed writing about my recent entertainment favourites last time so I think I'm going to do this every few months.

I'll admit I still haven't been in the mood to sit down and read a book. It's so annoying because I have so many books to read that I've bought/pre-ordered but I think I've just gone off reading, to be honest. So I thought for my reading section of this post I'll just leave links to some blogs which I've been really enjoying reading recently -

Pint Sized Beauty, Food and Other Loves, Hannah Gale, Rosie's Life and The Kitty Luxe.

I've been watching quite a lot of things so this is probably where it's going to be hard for me to choose just a few things to write about. But the top of my list has got to be Reign. I've just finished re-watching it just because I was just not ready to say goodbye to it, even though it ended earlier this year. I'm also quite gutted that Stella is over because it's just a fab comedy-drama and it's just one of those relatable shows I guess. I'm also really loving the new season of Riverdale, I was worried it was going to be one of those shows when the first season is really good but the second is a let down so I'm happy I'm enjoying the new season as much as the first

I haven't really watched many films over the past few weeks, I did rewatch The Secret Life of Walter Mitty when it was on TV and fell in love with it again. It's such a feelgood kind of film, with a nice soundtrack and it just makes me want to just on a plane and go and explore. I also watched Divergent for the first time in a few years a couple of nights ago when I couldn't sleep and I forgot how good it actually is. So I'm probably going to rewatch the rest of the trilogy soon to just kind refresh my memory because I remember reading the books years ago and really enjoying them.

For music, I was super excited to find out that The Neighbourhood released a new EP. It is a little different to their older music but I like it. My favourite song on the new EP is definitely NoiseI literally can't wait for their new album because I was kind of obsessed with their last one Wiped Out! I've also been loving Bad Sounds because they're just a bit different and all of their songs are catchy and kind of sing-alongy, my favourite songs are definitely Zacharia and Enough and I've been listening to The Killers latest album Wonderful Wonderful and Liam Gallagher's As You Were too.

A Beauty Wishlist

in , , by Kirsty Milward, 13.11.17

I'm currently on a bit of a spending ban because I've been "treating myself" a little too much lately and I've also been buying Christmas presents so my bank account is looking a little well, bleak right now. I also want to save up some money for the Christmas/Boxing Day sales too so I thought I'd put together a beauty wishlist of things I've got my eyes on at the minute. Some are on the cheaper side and some are more high-end so there's a mixture of everything.

1. Tanya Burr Selfie Lash Mascara £7.99 / 2. OFRA Beverly Hills Highlighter £22 / 3. Mario Badescu Skincare Drying Lotion £16

I really want to pick up a few more bits from Tanya Burr Cosmetics because the Illuminating Powder I own in the shade Champagne Sorbet is so nice and great quality for the price. I've heard so many good things about the Selfie Lash mascara and I like the look of the wand. I'll be honest, the OFRA highlighter mainly caught my eye because of the packaging so I'm not 100% sure if I'll actually pick it up because I don't really like the full-on highlighter look but who knows? I've heard so many great things about the Mario Badescu skincare range so I really want to try the Drying Lotion because I think it would be great for my hormonal spot flare-ups.

4. Maybelline Colour Tattoo - Permanent Taupe £5.99 / 5. Kat Von D Lock it Foundation £27 / 6. Real Techniques Full Coverage Essentials £30

I'm not usually a fan of cream eyeshadows but I really like the look of the Permanent Taupe shade, it just looks like a nice, everyday kind of shade. Everyone seems to rave about the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation so I definitely want to try it hopefully soon, I really like the packaging too. I've literally fallen in love with the limited edition brushes from Real Techniques, I have popped them on my Christmas list this year. I don't really need any more brushes but they're just so pretty.

I really like the look of the Miss Baby Roll Mascara wand, it's different because it has a twist thing going on and I think it would be great for my stubborn lashes. I really like the Miss Hippie mascara so I think I will like the Miss Baby Roll too. The Dim Light highlighter from Hourglass is one of those glow from within kind of highlighters which I'm a huge fan of, it is pricey for a highlighter but a lot of people say it's 100% worth the money. Everyone seems to be talking about the Mint Chocolate palette from I Heart Makeup because it's very similar to the ABH Subculture palette but personally I don't like to wear bold colours so when I saw they launched the Chocolate Elixir Palette I thought to myself "that's more my cup of tea" it also looks kind of similar to the Modern Renaissance palette and I like that most of the shades are matte.

10. Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter £24 / 11. Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara £7.99 / 12. Makeup Revolution Pro HD Highlighter Palette - Glow Getter £15

I absolutely love the Benefit Dandelion Blush which I picked up earlier this year, it's just the perfect everyday pop of pink blush that everyone needs in their makeup collection. So I thought maybe I'll like the Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter and I think it will compliment Shy Beam which I love too. I know I've gone a little OTT on mascaras on this wishlist but I want to try out some new ones and find some more staple mascaras which don't break the bank. There's been a lot of talk about how good the Colossal Big Shot is so it's definitely one I want to pick up hopefully soon. Lastly is the gorgeous newly released Glow Getter Palette from Makeup Revolution, I just think it's stunning and it looks very similar to another highlighter I mentioned earlier which is more money, whereas the Glow Getter palette has 8 highlighters.

What beauty bits do you currently have your eyes on?

UK Glossier Haul Cloud Paint Boy Brow

I'm sure by now you're sick of seeing and hearing about Glossier because everyone and their mum seems to be talking about it. I did know of the brand but didn't know a lot about them but after seeing and reading everyone talk about them when they became available to us in the UK, I was intrigued and decided to place my first order.

I really like the how cute and instagrammable the products are and I love that they are for us girls who don't like to wear tons of makeup and like the whole "no makeup" makeup look. I decided to pick up three products from Glossier - Cloud Paint in the shade Beam, Cloud Paint in the shade Dusk and also the Boy Brow in Brown. I also received a sample of the much talked about Milky Jelly Cleanser too which I'm purposely not trying out until I have some spare money floating about because I know if I love it, I'll want to get it asap.

Cloud Paints £15 each | I wasn't sure on these because they look quite vibrant in colour when they come out of the tube and I'm super pale, but I thought I'd give them a whirl anyway. I also decided to buy them because of the cute paint tube packaging, it definitely sold them to me more because as you may know, I'm a complete sucker for packaging. I decided to pick up the shades Dusk and Beam as I thought they were kind of the best shades to go for to compliment my pale skin. The formula is the same for both, it's very light and easy to blend and they are also quite sheer (thankfully). I like to apply a few small dots along my cheeks and then kind of tap in the product to blend out.

The shade Dusk is a peachy-bronze shade which looks very natural but can be build up a little if it's wanted. I really like it and I've worn it a number of times over the past few weeks. The shade Beam is quite an orange-toned shade which I'll be honest I'm not sure if it suits me really. I feel like when I apply it, it looks quite full on and vibrant but after a small dusting of translucent powder it looks more natural. I definitely prefer the Dusk shade but I'm going to keep hold of Beam for now because it may grow on me.

Boy Brow £15  I decided to pick the Boy Brow up in the shade Brown and I was so excited to try it out after the hype and the fact that I'd heard that it was basically the same and maybe even better than Benefit's Gimme Brow which I love but I think for the price, you get a tiny amount really so I like that this is a little cheaper and you get more product. I quite like a no fuss easy brow product because my brows rarely cooperate with me, so I don't like to make them look too bold. The best way to describe the formula is somewhere between a gel and pomade. It applies like a gel and then kind of dries down to a pomade and it's staying power is fab. It does feel a little waxy but it's bearable and it definitely thickens up my brows as well as obviously tinting them too. Because I have quite fair brows I feel that if I don't wear any brow product then I could look like I don't have any eyebrows, so this is a great throw on and go kind of product.

So there's my first ever Glossier haul. Do I think the products I picked up are worth it? YES! I've already got a few more of their products in mind which I really want to try out and add to my collection which I'll no doubt do a blog post about soon.

Have you tried anything from Glossier?
If so, what did you get and what do think about the product(s)?

Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Product Round-Up

in , by Kirsty Milward, 9.11.17

A couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway by Alex Silver PR which was really exciting. I won some products from KISS, Leighton Denny and also Joan Collins Timeless Beauty. Because I had recently received the First Base Foundation* to try out and review I thought I'd do a collective roundup review of the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty I've received recently.

Ten Effects Skin Treat & Make-Up Fixer RRP £20

I've only tried this a few times so far but it's nice to use if my skin is feeling quite dry or feels like it just needs some added moisture. I think this would be great for when my skin gets drier in the Winter and also for people with dry, sensitive skin. It's got a really nice, delicate floral scent - it's definitely the nicest scented makeup fixing spray because I find most of the ones I've used basically smell like hairspray.

Swatches - First Base Foundation, Divine Lips Sabine, Divine Lips Helene

Divine Lips Lipstick in the shades Sabine and Helene RRP £18

I already own the shade Melanie from the Divine Lips range and I love it, so I was excited to see two more of the Divine Lips lipsticks in my giveaway package. Sabine is a gorgeous Reddish-Brown shade, perfect for the Autumn/Winter seasons and the shade Helene looks like it's going to be a vibrant red but it's actually a vibrant pink instead, which I think will be a lovely shade for the Spring/Summer. I really like these lipsticks because they are very moisturising and comfortable to wear. The packaging is gorgeous and very Charlotte TIlbury-esque and photogenic which I'm definitely not complaining about.

First Base Foundation - Cool Extra Fair RRP £25*

I'm going to get straight to the point... this may be a new favourite foundation. First of all the colour match is spot on which is extremely rare for me, I usually have to use my Lightening Drops from The Body Shop because even the palest shades on offer are usually too dark or warm for me. It's also a nice, glowy looking foundation if I'm looking a little tired as this just brightens up my face and makes me look a little more alive. The coverage is good for me, I would say it's medium coverage but it doesn't cover over the redness on my cheeks very well so I tend to just pop a little more on in the areas needed. I also love the packaging, it's a glass bottle with gold in areas and it also comes with a pump and I prefer foundations with a pump. Even though this is on the pricier side for a foundation as I tend to go for drugstore foundations, I would pick this up again in a heartbeat.

I AM WOMAN Skin Silk Body Oil RRP £20

When the weather turns colder, my skin obviously wants more moisture so I do tend to opt for more thicker and more nourishing products like body butters and oils, so I was excited to see this in my giveaway parcel. I love the packaging, it comes in a glass bottle and is just one of those products which look lovely on the side of the bath or just on show somewhere in the bathroom. The scent is so lovely, it's quite an uplifting, classic kind of scent and it lingers for hours after using the oil. The oil also sinks in pretty quickly and my skin feels lovely and soft after using it.
