I thought it was about time that I share a favourites kind of post, as it’s been a while since my last favourites post. It’s mostly just beauty products this time around, apart from two things. Some are new favourites, but there are also a couple of old favourites that I’ve rediscovered recently. So here are some things I’ve been loving recently…
I don't remember who it was, but someone I follow on TikTok recommended the Superdrug Extracts Avocado Oil Conditioning Spray RRP £3.99 to apply before using heatless curlers, so I picked it up to try. I still haven’t got around to trying the heatless curler method yet (just because I keep forgetting lol), but I do like to use the conditioning spray before drying my hair and it definitely helps make my hair feel softer and more manageable. It also smells really nice! So I would 100% recommend giving it a go if you’re in the market for a new affordable leave-in conditioner. It tends to be on offer for half price or BOGOF as well.
I’ve been trying to work through the shower gels I already own before buying any new ones. I seem to accumulate shower gel quite fast, as I usually receive several beauty gift sets for my birthday and Christmas, PR products and the usual ones I buy for myself too. However, I recently treated myself to another Rituals The Ritual of Jing Foaming Shower Gel RRP £9.90 as a little pick me up. It's obviously pricier than a regular shower gel, but it just makes your shower a bit more luxurious and it’s really nice to use. It smells lovely as it's a very clean, fresh scent and also it lingers on your skin after your shower.
Another recent rediscovery is the Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion RRP £24 which I picked up on offer on Amazon for just £9 recently, which is a bargain! If you have Keratosis Pilaris or ‘Chicken Skin’ anywhere on your body and you want your skin to look and feel smoother, then you need this. I always feel more self-conscious of my KP during the warmer weather because I’ve got my arms and legs out more. It’s silly because it’s such a common skin condition. But I tend to reach for the Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion just to help my skin look and feel smoother during the warmer months. However, I’m not a massive fan of the scent. It does say fragrance-free on the packaging, but I personally think it has kind of a clinical scent if that makes sense, but I still buy it because the results are great, as long as you keep on top of using it.
I wanted to pick up a new hair mask so I picked up the Garnier Ultimate Blends Rice Water Infusion & Starch Hair Remedy Mask RRP £5.50 as it had some great reviews about making your hair feel super soft and also some reviews about not weighing your hair down and making it greasy which is a bit plus when you have hair that’s on the finer side. First of all, the hair mask smells really nice as it has a very clean, comforting scent. Almost like a laundry detergent, but in a good way. And it definitely makes my hair smoother after use. For some reason, it went completely out of stock and was unavailable for a spell. It seemed as if it was being discontinued, and I thought ‘Great... That’s so typical when I find a new hair mask that I love!’ But now it’s back in stock at Boots.
I’ve also been loving the Tropic Lip Silk Plumping Ceramide Serum RRP £18*, which I featured in my recent Beauty and Lifestyle Haul. It has a 100% natural formula and is completely free from any synthetic ingredients. I use it most evenings, and I’ve definitely seen a difference in my lips. They look and feel more hydrated and plump. Also, considering I use it most evenings, it appears to be lasting well. If you’re looking for a hydrating serum that can be worn alone or over the lip of a lip stain, then I would recommend picking this up and giving it a whirl.
I also picked up the Go Ahead Fibre Jacks Raspberry Snack Bars 4 Pack Multipack RRP £2 to try for when I want a sweet treat that's technically a healthier option over chocolate or sweets. They have a good amount of flavour, and I found them really nice to have with a cup of tea, so I just wanted to give them a little mention as I do really like them and I always make sure I have a couple of boxes in. They're great for if you're on the go or kid's lunchboxes too.
Lastly, I wanted to talk about Stardew Valley which I know I’ve talked about a number of times on here over the past few years. But I recently started a new save file after not playing it for a while and it’s really been helping to switch my brain off, which is great as I’ve got a lot going on my mind right now. Something which is quite interesting is that I've noticed that since playing the game again my RHR has lessened and my stress level scores have improved on my my Fitbit app lol. So I just wanted to give it a shout-out and recommend it if you’re looking for a cheap game that’s available on all game platforms (I think) and has plenty of content.
