Latest In Beauty | Date Night Box

I used to be such a huge fan of beauty boxes but late last year I decided to opt out of the ones I was signed up to because I found that a lot of the products I was receiving each month weren't for me and I ended up giving half of the products away or just had them sat in my beauty drawers for weeks or months on end. But when an email landed in my inbox a few weeks ago about Latest In Beauty's Date Night Box* I was really impressed at the selection of products inside and decided to see what they were all about. The Date Night Box was initially aimed for Valentine's Day (obviously) but when you're reading this I'm guessing it's a few days after Valentine's because the box arrived on the Monday before Valentine's and I've just been so busy trying to catch up on life and work because of my rubbish health over the past few weeks but hey, that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself or a loved one to the Date Night Box a few days late, right? right. Anyway let's move onto what you're really here for... to find out more about what's inside the box and my thoughts.

The box has £100 worth of products inside and the box is just £25 (+ p&p) so it's definitely a complete steal!

The first thing to catch my eyes in the box was the (Malin+Goetz) Vitamin E Face Moisturiser as I know they are on the pricier side when it comes to skincare but they are a brand I've wanted to try for a while. I find it hard to find a good moisturiser that doesn't make me break out because of my oily skin so when I saw that it's suitable for all skin types I literally wanted to dance. The formula is very lightweight and I've used it twice since receiving the box and I'm already a fan. (p.s sorry in advance to my bank account lol).

Another product which I was looking forward to trying out as soon I saw it in the box is the KIKO Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in 04 Hot Pink. KIKO are a brand I'm hoping to try out more products from this year because I see their name popping up frequently in the beauty world. So this was definitely a welcome addition to my makeup collection. I'm not going to lie the colour does look like a scary bright pink in the tube but if you're familiar with the Glossier Cloud Paints then it's similar in the way how it blends out into a more natural look and it's just a very user-friendly product which you can just throw in your bag and go.

There's also a Burt's Bees Lipgloss in Evening Glow which is a gorgeous subdued red shade, I love Burt's Bees, they just know how to make products right so I'm looking forward to wearing this and featuring in future blog posts.

Another product which I'm looking forward to trying out is the Dr. Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil. I've not really tried many things from Dr. Botanicals but I know people who swear by their products so I'm looking forward to trying it out and using it on my skin when it feels a little dehydrated.

A few products which I already know I love which are inside the Date Night Box are the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush which happens to be one of my favourites from their current range of scents. I actually use Dry Shampoo on clean hair to give my roots some volume and give my mid-lengths some texture. I also love the Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polishes and inside the box you get the shade 203 Lose Your Lingerie which is a very pretty everyday light pink-purple shade which I'm definitely going to be reaching for a lot in Spring.

One product I was a little unsure on in the box is the MUA Twelfth Night Eyeshadow Palette as I thought the shades are just not my cup of tea really. I prefer more neutral, everyday shades and the colours in the palette are on the darker side. But upon its arrival in the box, I actually do like some of the shades and they are super pigmented too. So that was a nice surprise.

Still another 5 products to go... YES REALLY.

There's also a mini 10ml L'Occitane Hand and Nail Cream in Roses Et Reines and I'll be honest, I've never tried a L'Occtiane Hand Cream before because I just think any hand cream works as long as it's on the thicker side. But I really like the smell of this one and it's a perfect scent for Spring as it's very fresh and not an old-fashioned rose scent.

There's also a £15 gift card for Blow Ltd which is an expert mobile beauty service so that you can get your hair, makeup or nails done either at your home, office, hotel or an event. Unfortunately, they only cover Manchester, Birmingham and London and none of them are super close to me so I'll probably pass this onto someone who can use it before it's expiry date.

I really like body scrubs which are super scrubby so I'm looking forward to trying out the Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Salt Scrub sachet. Another product in the box which I know I'm already a fan of is Marc Jacobs Daisy and there's a mini sample size in the box which is perfect to pop in your bag.

Lastly is the Nuxe Prodigieux Precious Scented Shower Oil which I haven't tried out yet but I've heard great things about their shower oils so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
