New In My Makeup Collection

A few weeks ago I did a New In My Skincare Stash and this week I'm back with a New In My Makeup Collection, I know what you're probably thinking - Wow, this girl has got a shopping problem and guess what? You're right lol. I've been feeling really low/stressed over the past few weeks over many different things and (online) retail therapy always cheers me up. I know a Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick isn't going to fix any current problems going on in my life but hey, at least I can look somewhat more put together whilst attempting to deal with the shit life keeps throwing at me, right? Anyway, let's move onto what I've bought recently makeup-wise and my thoughts so far.

I'm been lusting after the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Highlighter Wand since about November last year and well, I caved and I don't regret it at all. It gives the most gorgeous glowy, radiant look and it's just a very pretty highlighter which you can build up from a natural look to more of an intense blinding highlighter. You also need the tiniest amount to get a gorgeous glow.

I also decided to pick up Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk because I've been using the Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk* a lot since last November so
I decided I needed the lipstick in my life. It's definitely the most comfortable matte lipstick I own and I totally get the hype.

Another lipstick new in my collection is the Lipstick Queen in Hello Sailor* which I received from World Duty Free. When it arrived, I was questioning the colour because well, it's blue but then I soon realised after trying it out then it was in fact a colour changing lipstick, phew. I definitely cannot pull off blue. The colour is more of a berry shade on me but I think it changes depending on your natural lip colour. But I actually wanted a new berry kind of shade in my collection so it's definitely a welcome addition.

I didn't need another blusher really but I just had to my hands on Benefits latest offering which is the Gold Rush blusher from Cult Beauty. It's the most gorgeous peachy-gold blush and it also gives you a lovely glow, I just think it's perfect for Spring. I think if the Galifornia Blush scares you a little with it being quite a pigmented blush then I would say pick this up instead. It compliments my pale skin nicely and I'm definitely going to be getting some use out of it during the Spring and Summer months.

Another product I picked up is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. I was a little disappointed when it arrived and I realised that the packaging is plastic considering it cost a whopping £33. But the powder is nice and it does seem to make any prominent pores around my nose disappear somehow. But I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I’d buy it again because the packaging kind of let it down for me personally.

I also fancied buying a high-end foundation, I don't know why but I just did. I decided to pick up the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Swan which is apparently the lightest shade but it's very yellow-toned so it's not great if you have paper-pale skin like me. So when I do use it I do have to rely on my trusty lightening drops to get the shade right for me. But I do like the foundation in general, it's not too matte but not too dewy and it actually looks better as the day goes on, which is unusual. I'm definitely going to pick up some more Too Faced products in the next few months because the packaging is so pretty.

the Balm also very kindly sent me over some products recently and I've been enjoying trying them out so I thought I'd feature a few in this post. The Mad Lash Mascara* has been impressing me more and more every time I use it, it's quite similar to the Benefit Rollerlash but I actually prefer the Mad Lash's curvier wand, it really grasps and curls every single lash and it's cheaper than Rollerlash!

I received three of their Meet Matte Hughes Liquid Lipsticks* which are all gorgeous and also smell like After-Eight Mints, yum. The one I've been reaching for the most is definitely Charming* because I just find it suits most of my go-to makeup looks.

I also really like their timeBalm Anti-Wrinkle Concealer* it's quite a light coverage but I like it for minimal makeup days. It gives a dewy look and just makes my under eyes looks more awake and gives my overall appearance a fresh-faced look. I was debating on picking up the Glossier Stretch Concealer but I think this is pretty much the same thing without the "stretch".

Have you picked up any new makeup recently that you've been loving?

  1. Handy that you have the lightening drops to make sure that you're not wasting the foundation! I haven't tried it personally, but I love the concealer that goes with it x
