Burt's Bees Cosmetics Range

-This post contains gifted/PR samples, no paid content. All opinions are my own-
Burt's Bees are one of my favourite cruelty-free brands and they are my go-to brand for lip balms and I also love their lipsticks, foot care range and also some of their skincare bits too. So when I heard that they were expanding their cosmetics range which is 100% natural I was super excited to give it a try. I was kindly sent over the three products I'm talking about today in this post but obviously as always that doesn't affect my overall thoughts on the products. I did however get to choose which products I wanted to be sent and also the shades I wanted to try.

I was sent over their Aglow Lip & Cheek Stick in the shade Peony Pool RRP £12.99*, Eyeshadow Trio in Blooming Desert RRP £11.99* and their Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation RRP £14.99* in the shade Porcelain (there's 12 shades available in the range).

The foundation is the product I was most excited about, just because I'm already such a big fan of Burt's Bees and I just wanted to see if their new foundation followed in the footsteps of the other products I love by them. The mineral foundation claims to moisturise and hydrate the skin whilst delivering long-wearing and full coverage. They also say that the foundation is best suited for dry or combination skin. I'm not going to lie, when I first put it on I didn't like it. Although the shade is literally spot on for my skin tone which is rare, it looked a quite streaky (when applied with a Spectrum foundation brush) and very dewy. However I decided to kind of pat it in with my new Sunday Ivy Big Fuzz Blender to try and salvage it and it seemed to sort out the streaky situation and then once I'd powdered it down, I actually really liked the finish. The coverage is medium but you can build it up a little in areas where it's needed more and it gives you a "your skin but better" kind of finish. It's not cakey nor does it cling to any dry spots either which is great. It doesn't last all day on my oily skin type but it's a good foundation to use when I know I'm only going to be out out the house for no more than about 5 hours. So overall I think it's a nice foundation and I would pick it up again.

The Eyeshadow Trio in Blooming Desert* comes in the most cute packaging resembling a honeycomb and the in the Blooming Desert palette you get 3 shimmer shades in white, orange and brown. All of the shades are pigmented but the white shade is quite hard to see alone (hence why it's almost invisible on the photo above). I really like the brown shade and I have worn it on it's own a few times but I don't think I can pull of the orange shade. I don't know why, I just don't think it suits me unfortunately. But the palette itself is very nice and compact and there's other trios with different shades available too.

Lastly is the Aglow Lip & Cheek Stick in the shade Peony Pool* which I love! I don't use it as a lipstick but it's handy with it being a 2-in-1 product if you wanted to wear it as a lipstick. It looks so lovely as a blush and it gives me a nice glowy healthy look (which I definitely need right now). It kind of reminds me of the Haloscope highlighter sticks from Glossier because of the stick having a balm in the middle and the actual product on the outer edge. Like all cream/stick products, I don't directly glide the stick across my face, I put the product on my fingertips and tap it in for better results. I know that kind of defeats the purpose of stick makeup products but I just find it works better and doesn't disrupt my base makeup.

Have you tried anything from Burt's Bees new cosmetics range?
