New In From Liz Earle... The Pro-Biotic Balancing Skincare Range

Liz Earle have recently launched their new Pro-Biotic Balancing skincare range and I’ve been putting the trio of products that have a unique blend of nutrient-rich pre, pro and postbiotics to the test to see how they work for my skin. They claim that the range soothes and protects the skin’s moisture barrier, melts away impurities and makeup and the probiotic formula is scientifically proven to keep your skin's friendly bacteria balanced for 24 hours and can help your skin to look more balanced, clearer and healthier in just 7 days.

The range actually couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for me because around this time of the year my skin decides to go a bit crazy and it becomes a lot more sensitive as well. I've also been quite run down over the past two weeks thanks to the flu, so it's been nice to just have a simple, gentle line-up of skincare products to use during this time.

The Pro-Biotic lineup includes the Balancing Milk Cleanser RRP £18*, Balancing Day Cream RRP £32* and the Balancing Night Cream RRP £32*. All three products have a unique blend of nutrient-rich pre, pro and postbiotics and natural active ingredients, all of which have been ethically sourced. These ingredients include chicory, Lunaria oil, jojoba oil and oat extract.

So how have I been getting on with the products? Let's find out...

The Pro-Biotic Balancing Milk Cleanser* feels really gentle and creamy on the skin and leaves your skin feeling well cleansed, refreshed and also nice and soft after each use. In terms of makeup removal, I think it depends on how much makeup you wear day-to-day, if you’re like me and only wear minimal makeup then it’ll probably work for you but if you wear more than minimal makeup then you may want to use an oil or balm cleanser first and then use the Milk Cleanser as a second cleanse to reap the cleanser's benefits.

Also, it says that the range is fragrance-free but I’ve found that the whole range does have a very slight oaty kind of smell about it which doesn’t bother me in the slightest, I actually find it quite nice I just thought I’d mention it. It isn't a scent that sticks around for long though.

The Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream* has a pretty light consistency which I’m a fan of as it means a small amount goes a long way. It feels very soothing on the skin and it sinks in pretty quickly as well and doesn’t leave you with any sort of greasy residue.

Left: Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream, Right: Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream

The Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream* feels slightly richer than the Day Cream but not super thick and heavy which I personally like as I’ve actually stopped using night creams recently as I find them a bit too much for my skin but this night cream has a nice inbetween kind of consistency. It’s not super thick but it just has a little more oomph than the Day Cream if you feel your skin needs it and it doesn't take much longer to sink into your skin than the day cream either.

Overall I really like the new Pro-Biotic range from Liz Earle, it's a nice simple lineup that suits all skin types. I haven't had any sort of irritation whilst using the products and no new spots have popped up since using the range either. I shall definitely be continuing using them and I'll be 100% repurchasing the cleanser and the day cream. I like the night cream as well but I feel like the day cream is enough for my skin right now.
