6 Skincare Products For Oily Skin Types

I’ve chosen six products that I would highly recommend picking up if you have an oily skin type. My skin kind of goes between being oily and then combination (an oily T-zone and fairly normal elsewhere), it usually switches between the different skin types depending on a range of things such as seasonal changes, hormones and diet. These six products help to keep the oiliness at bay without making my skin feel stripped or overworked with active ingredients. Some of the products mentioned are ones that I’ve used for a few years now and some of them I’ve discovered just this year.

First up is the Nivea Derma Skin Clear Gel Cleanser RRP £4.99 which I feel like I’ve talked about a lot of here since I reviewed the Derma Skin Clear Range. It contains some of my favourite active ingredients which are Salicylic Acid and Niacinamide and for just under £5 it’s an absolute steal. It really helps to combat new breakouts and excessive oiliness.

Another product that I love is the Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner RRP £29 (Full Size) which once again, contains my fave Niacinamide which helps to give you brighter skin, reduces oil, tightens pores and evens out texture and dark spots over time. The serum-like gel texture makes the toner unique and super easy to apply with just your hands meaning you don’t need to use cotton pads. Because of the texture and how easy it is to apply, I feel like it lasts a good amount of time and it also smells like Cherry and Fig which smells lovely, it’s definitely one of the nicest-smelling skincare products I own.  Any sort of serum or toner containing Niacinamide should help with excess oiliness and help to tone and balance out your skin but the Fat Water Toner is definitely my favourite.

The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant RRP £65* is a fine rice-based exfoliating powder which activates when you add water to it. It contains an array of ingredients such as Papain, Salicylic Acid, Rice Enzymes and more to help brighten, exfoliate and balance your skin. It is gentle enough to use daily but I like to use it 2-3 times per week usually. I literally always have Daily Microfoliant in my skincare routine, it's been a staple for years.

The Facetheory Supergel Oil-free Moisturiser RRP £16* is a great moisturiser if you have oily skin/combination skin as it’s oil-free and it feels really lightweight on your skin. It contains Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Vitamin C, Green Tea Extract and Niacinamide.

I have two face masks to recommend, first up is the Fenty Cookies N Clean Whipped Clay Mask RRP £27 which is fragrance-free and has a lightweight whipped formula. It contains Salicylic Acid which helps to clarify your skin, Clay which helps to extract dirt, oil and impurities, Encapsulated Charcoal which bursts upon massaging your skin and detoxifies pores and absorbs oils and it also contains Rhubarb and Ginger Extracts which condition and soothe the skin. With of having a lightweight, whipped formula, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling stripped.

Secondly is the Pixi Glow Mud Mask RRP £18 which is a thick mud mask which helps to purify and balance out your skin. It’s a mineral-rich mask which really helps to draw out impurities, absorbs excess oil and fights any active breakouts. Its main ingredients are Kaolin Clay, Sea Salt, Ginseng and Aloe Vera and the formula is on the thicker side so you only need a small amount per use.
