A Beauty and Lifestyle Haul

It’s been a while since I posted a beauty and lifestyle haul and I’ve got quite a few things I want to feature on my blog so I thought I would round them up in a beauty and lifestyle haul and let you know my thoughts about each of them. I’ve got everything from skincare, body care, hair care to a couple of fitness-related things.

I bought myself a Fitbit Inspire 3 RRP £84.99 as my very old Fitbit Alta wasn’t logging things properly anymore so it was time for an upgrade. I managed to get my new Fitbit on offer on Amazon for £59 during the Black Friday sales which I thought was a really good deal. The reason I chose the Fitbit Inspire 3 is because it has everything you need in a health tracker from monitoring your heart rate, sleep, steps, calories (optional) and active minutes. It also has 20 exercise modes, a long battery life and it’s swimproof (up to 50 metres) plus more. It comes with a 6-month premium subscription with extra features including workouts, mindfulness exercises, stress management score, sleep profiles and more. I’ll be honest I haven’t used the premium features as much as I thought I would so I don’t think I shall be joining premium once my trial ends unless they offer me a good deal or something. But I’m happy with the basic features anyway. So overall, I’ve been really enjoying tracking everything I want to track again and I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a more affordable fitness tracker from a reputable brand.

I’ve recently started using the Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum RRP £62* which I received in a gift set from Dermalogica at Christmas which was really kind of them! For some reason, my skin is going through one of its weird spells at the moment and it can’t decide whether it wants to be oily or dry. But I’ve noticed if I use a heavier cream on my skin, my skin will break out, especially on my chin area so it feels like I’m fighting one skin concern and ending up with another. So I’ve been using the Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum alongside a lightweight moisturiser and that seems to be working for me right now. The Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum replenishes your skin from within and contains Hyaluronic Acid and other ingredients which will help to hydrate and keep your skin looking fresh and plump and continues to keep your skin hydrated long term with consistent use. It also contains a postbiotic blend of Lactobacillus Ferment and Avena Extract to help balance the skin’s microbiome. My skin seems to like skincare products that contain pre and post biotic ingredients so that's definitely an added bonus.

I picked up the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Hair Mask RRP £8.49 kind of on a whim because I just wanted to try a new hair mask and it was on offer for about £4 at the time so I thought why not? I usually find OGX products a little bit hit and miss, some work well for me and some don't. But so far, I’ve been really liking the Argan Oil of Morocco Hair Mask as it smells really pleasant and it helps to soften my hair which makes my hair easier to manage as my hair does get quite tangly. It also adds a nice amount of shine and doesn’t weigh my hair down.

I’ve also been testing out two Salt Of The Earth Deodorant Sprays RRP £7.49* recently. I chose the scents Peony Blossom* and Sweet Strawberry* which both smell lovely. I feel like people shy away from natural deodorants because they think they just won’t work as well as an anti-perspirant however the mineral salt inside the natural deodorant kills the bacteria which is what causes BO. Also because you still sweat when you use a natural deodorant, it helps your body to properly breathe and detox whereas an anti-perspirant blocks your pores which can cause irritation and blocked sweat glands which can lead to cysts and more. You may sweat and smell a little more at first when using a natural deodorant but that doesn’t always happen if it does, it’s completely normal, you just have to stick it out. The Salt of The Earth Deodorant Sprays are also refillable, cruelty-free and vegan. I have tried other natural deodorants over recent years and the Salt of The Earth ones are without a doubt the best in my opinion. There are a good array of scents to choose from, they work really well, they don’t cost much more than my previous choice of deodorant and natural deodorant just offers better benefits.

The classic Nivea Creme Moisturiser that comes in a blue tin is now available in a tube! I personally feel like you just can’t go wrong with Nivea and their moisturisers and they’ve been a firm favourite in my family for literally years. The Nivea Creme moisturiser has a rich consistency, is suitable for all skin types and can be used all over the body. If you’re looking for a lighter moisturiser then I would recommend Nivea Soft instead.

I’m currently the heaviest weight I’ve ever been and since I’ve gained more weight, my chronic lower back pain has definitely been worse. So I’ve been finding it hard to exercise in general because of the extra pain and also because I’ve been lacking in motivation as I’ve been struggling with my mental health a lot because I’ve been dealing with grief, worsened anxiety, family things and I’ve had some other health things going on and more. Anyway, I recently decided that I need to focus on trying to improve my health and that walking is probably the easiest way for me to exercise right now. So I thought it’d be a good idea for me to buy a treadmill to help with both weight loss and my overall mobility and if I need to stop walking suddenly because of my pain then at least I’m at home and can just press stop and sit down and rest as and when I need to. After a lot of research, I ended up choosing the FLYLINKTECH 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill RRP £369.99 on Amazon which has a heavier weight capacity (300lbs max) compared to the treadmills and walking pads you see people promoting on TikTok which tend to have a much lower weight capacity. They also tend to have discounts available on the treadmill I bought and they have payment plans available if needed too. I managed to get mine on sale for £290 which I thought was really good considering the RRP. I’m still quite new to using the treadmill but so far, I’m very happy with it. I go on it in short bursts and I just keep stopping, sitting down and then going back on it and that’s what’s working for me right now. It’s quieter than I was expecting, it has a 2-year warranty, a wider-than-average belt, 12 exercise modes, an LCD display, and a device holder and it also has wheels to help move it around if you want to fold it down and put it away. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a treadmill suitable for a plus-sized person.
