I know, I know, I’m talking about Spring when it’s still only February but I’m just so over winter now. I’m not usually that bothered about winter really, my least favourite season is actually summer because I just don’t like hot weather as it doesn’t agree with me but this winter has been really getting to me and I just want it to be spring now. So I thought I would share some cosy spring homeware I’ve spotted whilst window shopping online that I think would be great to pick up to help add some cosy vibes into your home.

An Autumn Wishlist

I really enjoy putting together wishlist-style posts so I thought I would sit down and have a look at some websites and see what catches my eye and put together an autumn wishlist. I've made sure to include an array of different things from clothing, skincare, makeup, body care and homeware.

My post about 4 Games Coming To The Nintendo Switch That I’m Looking Forward To Playing did really well, which was quite unexpected considering my blog is mostly focused on beauty content. So I’m back with another post about gaming but this I’m talking about 4 games that are on my Nintendo Switch wishlist and also the reasons why I haven’t picked them up just yet.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog then I’m sure by now you’re aware that I like putting together a wishlist post but I thought that I would do something a little different this week and do an Etsy Wishlist. I try and shop at Etsy fairly often whether it’s for myself or if I’m looking for a gift for someone as I find that you can get quite unique things on there and it’s obviously important to try and support small businesses where possible too. So in today’s post, I want to share what’s currently on my ‘Etsy Wishlist’ as there are a couple of things that are gift ideas but most are things that I like the look of for myself and my home.

I wanted to do something a little different so I thought I’d share three drugstore brands which currently have multiple products that I want to try out and why I want to pick them up. I have purchased many products from the brands featured before but I just thought I’d change things up a little and talk about what I’ve currently got my eyes on in a different way.

I’m back again with another wishlist post and this time I’ve put together a summer wishlist that includes an array of clothes and beauty products that I’ve got my eyes on for the summer. I've had yet another big declutter recently so I know what I want/need in my wardrobe for the summer and also what new makeup I want to try.

A Beauty Wishlist

I haven’t done a beauty wishlist for a while so I thought I would change that as there are quite a few beauty products that I’ve got my eyes on at the moment. I am however being more mindful these days about what products I already have in and whether or not I really ~need~ to buy whatever it is I’ve got my eyes on but I obviously also like to treat myself to new beauty products here and there.

I'm back again with another wishlist and as always, I've put together a list of different things from beauty, fashion, homeware and even a few fitness and health-related things as I'm planning to go on a bit of a health kick which I'll talk more about later in the post.

A Summer Wishlist

in , , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 14.7.22
I really enjoyed putting together my Spring Wishlist back in February so I’m back again with a Summer Wishlist. I am however challenging myself to a ‘No-Buy’ this month, well I’m not buying stuff I don’t really need. That’s the plan anyway because I’ve been 'treating myself' a little too much lately and I really need to reign it in lol. So here are some things that I've got my eyes on at the moment.

A Spring Wishlist

in , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 4.4.21

I haven't done a wishlist post in ages, so I thought it was about time I changed that. I've got my eyes on quite a lot of different things at the moment, from clothes, beauty and a few lifestyle bits too, so I'm going to be sharing some in this post. However, I'm not on a spending ban as such but I'm being careful where I'm spending my money because I spent quite a lot of money on things I don't ~really~ need last month (oops!). But... it is my birthday month now so I am going to probably treat myself to a few things on this list at some point this month.

Like most people, I'm currently watching what I'm spending my money on and prioritising the essentials, especially as I'm self-employed via blogging and everything's gone pretty quiet and I'm not going to lie, it's pretty scary. I also don't know where I stand with brands/companies who owe me money and if I'm going to be paid on time/at all, given what's going on right now. So I thought instead of spending money I technically don't have right now, I'd do a Spring Wishlist and show you what I've got my eyes on. However, if and when I get paid/get more work in, I'm definitely going to be picking up a few things on this list. April is also my birthday month so I think comfort shopping + my birthday is a good excuse to treat myself (hopefully in the very near future!).

ASOS Curve Sweet Tooth Pyjama Shorts £10  / REN Perfect Canvas Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser £25Joanie Bobby Dream Lover Slogan Tee £22  / Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up the Light Skin-Centric Highlighting Palette - Fair to Light £34

First up is some cute AF pyjamas shorts from ASOS which have lollies and all sorts of other sweets allover. I really like ASOS pyjama shorts, they fit nicely and the elasticated waistbands never dig in my stomach and set off my stomach/pelvic pain like some other brands pyjamas do. Next is the REN Jelly Oil Cleanser which I've had my eyes on since it was released back in January (I think it was January anyway?). I find the concept and formula really intriguing and I also like that REN's packaging is all recyclable and that you can use it on bare skin or you can use It to remove your makeup. My wardrobe is basically being taken over by clothes from Joanie and I don't think the obsession is going to stop anytime soon if I'm being honest. Although I'm trying to stop buying as many stripe t-shirts, I really like the Dream Lover slogan tee. It'd look nice paired with an oversized cardigan and leggings/jeans or underneath a pinafore dress. I can definitely see myself buying this tee v soon. I also love the look of Too Faced's latest highlighter release. The palette comes with three highlighters which go from a natural sheen, a middle glowy highlighter and a super in-your-face kind of highlight.

Daisy Street Plus Crop Sweatshirt with Dolphin Graphic £19.99 / FOREO Luna 3 Cleansing Brush £169Joanie Joyce Daisy Print Frill Wrap Dress £45 / Revolution Pro CC Cream Perfecting Foundation SPF30 £10

I also really like the look of the Daisy Street Sweatshirt, although I'm not a fan of it being cropped as I prefer a normal length sweatshirt that covers all my lumps and bumps. But I think the vintage-looking design is cute and it'd be a nice comfy sweatshirt to wear around the house. I'm very intrigued about trying a FOREO cleansing brush and comparing one to other "dupe" kind of cleansing brushes I have. I have seen some good results on instagram/youtube when people have consistently used a FOREO brush to cleanse their skin every day and I'm just interested to see if using one would help with my skin. Another piece from Joanie I really like the look of is the Joyce Daisy Print Frill Wrap Dress which is new in. It's so pretty! They also have a jumpsuit with the same daisy print design which is cute but I don't think jumpsuits suit me personally. I think we all know what the new Revolution Pro CC Cream Perfecting Foundation is trying to be, right? I'm definitely intrigued and want to try it, although I still wouldn't give up on my It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream because it's my go-to base and has been for almost two years now and it's saved me from being super self-conscious when my skin isn't looking so great so many times. I have tried a couple of the wannabe IT CC creams and none of them have blown me away.

Boohoo Waffle Knit Cardigan £18 Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask £30 / Boohoo Fit Side Stripe Running Legging £15 / Drunk Elephant Nice To Meet You Set £19

I've come to realise that a lot of my comfy cardigans look a bit well-worn now, even after getting a Minky bobble remover on them lol. So I've been on the lookout for a couple of new cardigans that aren't too thick nor too thin and I really like the Waffle Knit one from Boohoo. Although it does seem to have shot up in price within a week because it was £12 when I first came across it (hmm). I'm still yet to try anything from Ole Henriksen but if and when I do purchase something from them, it's 100% going to be the Cold Plunge Pore Mask. It sounds so nice and I know Emma's Rectangle swears by it and says it's one of her fave masks and her skin always looks nice! I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit bored of wearing standard black leggings so I'm thinking of picking up some leggings with stripes down the side just to change things up a little. I know it's not very exciting but it's still a little refresh I guess. I'm also really intrigued to try some products from Drunk Elephant and the Nice To Meet You Set from Cult Beauty contains three mini's which are the Protini Polypeptide Cream (15ml), Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser (22g) and the Bamboo Booster which comes in a little sachet. I just want to see what they're about and if their products are really worth the money. I am interested in a few other products from DE but I'll talk about those in another blog post soon.

Nuthing Pink Shimmer Hair Removal Jelly £9.99 ASOS Curve V-Neck Linen Mix T-shirt in Charcoal Stripe £14Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil £34 / REN Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream £49

I've seen a few fellow bloggers receive/talk about Nuthing on their Instagram and/or blogs recently and I'm definitely interested in giving them a whirl. This is TMI but since I switched my pill last year, my leg hair and underarm hair grows so fast! It's such a pain in the arse to keep on top of. I also like the fact that they are vegan-friendly too. The ASOS V-Neck Linen Mix T-shirt looks super comfy and perfect for lounging around the house, which let's face it, it looks like we're all going to be stuck in the house for a while longer yet and I'm not really into loungewear sets, I'm more of a comfy oversized tee and leggings/pyjamas kinda girl. Another cult skincare brand that I'm still yet to try anything from is Sunday Riley. I have been shying away from using oils since the end of last year, but I've just started to use a Dermalogica oil recently and I'm enjoying using it and I feel like I'm seeing good results. So I'm interested in trying out a few different oils in the upcoming months and I like that the U.F.O. oil is clarifying. Lastly is another product from REN which is actually their latest release. It's their Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream and I've seen some before and after photos of people using this and I'm really impressed. I feel like it would work well at getting rid of acne scarring on my forehead and cheeks and just even out my complexion nicely whilst obviously moisturising my skin at night.

What's on your Spring Wishlist?

-This post is in collaboration with HC Supplies-
We're planning on revamping our kitchen in the Spring which I'm really excited about. We were planning on doing it before Christmas but then we decided it would be a lot of work, stress and mess to deal with just before Christmas so we scrapped that idea. So ever since we decided that we're going to revamp the kitchen I've obviously been browsing away looking at all kitchen-related things. We haven't got a massive budget to do it up with but there are definitely some things on my "dream kitchen wishlist" that we could get (and yes, I do have a bookmark full of things I'd love in my dream kitchen). So I thought I'd share with you what my ideal kitchen would look like in the space we have available.

I really think that the design of a kitchen worktop can really make or break a kitchen. I think it's because it covers such a big, main area of the kitchen and it's something you're looking at all of the time when you're in the room even if you don't realise it. I really like the look of quartz worktops just because they can add some dazzle and glitz and you can really make a feature of them too. I've been looking at the Calacatta Gold Supreme and White Sparkle quartz worktops from Stone Synergy. They're quite different to each other but they are both quite bold and I think that's what I like about them. You can also find a wide range of worktops including quartz ones at HCsupplies too.

I really love Belfast sinks and I think they can kind of give a house that cosy farmhouse vibe too. In an ideal world, I'd love if we could install one of them in our kitchen along with a gold traditional kitchen mixer tap but I'm actually not sure if we can because the area where our current sink is, is quite compact. So I don't know if a Belfast sink would look right or even fit properly, to be honest (it's time to get the measuring tape out I think!).

I'd also love to paint our kitchen as right now it's kind of a pastel olive green colour, which is nice and it goes with our wooden kitchen cabinets but it's just not what I'd have chosen if the choice was down to me. I'd love our kitchen walls to be a warm, neutral grey because it's a colour that just kind of goes with everything and if we do we end up having Quartz worktops then it would blend all in nicely.

We currently have black tiles around the sink area and I don't even know why but they are definitely going when we revamp the kitchen because they just don't look right. I'm kind of torn about what I think would look nice but I really like basic brick block kind of tiles (like in the photo above) but I also really like really bold, colourful Moroccan-looking patterned tiles too. I think it would depend on the rest of the choices for the kitchen because obviously, you don't want things to clash.

Lastly is some sort of hidden but useful storage system, just because we have a kind of awkward, small kitchen which is split into two parts. We've got the main kitchen area where the sink, kettle and toaster etc are and then the utility area which has things like the microwave, blender, toastie maker (basically the appliances we don't use daily) as well as the washing machine and tumble dryer. I've seen "cupboards" which actually pull out and have a chopping board on the top and then storage or a bin underneath, so something along those lines would be great.

I haven't really been wearing a lot of jewellery lately and I wanted to change that. So I've recently added some new pieces to my jewellery collection which has definitely made me want to start wearing jewellery more often and it's also made me have a look around at other pieces which I like the look of too. I'm more into necklaces and earrings as opposed to bracelets and rings but I think that's because I have quite chubby hands and fingers so I try to avoid drawing attention to the area haha. So in this post, I'm going to be talking about the pieces I've added to my collection recently and also a mini wishlist of pieces I have my eyes on.

A Beauty Wishlist

in , , , by Kirsty Milward, 20.4.19

I haven't done a beauty wishlist in a while and there's definitely a few things I have my eyes on right now. It's also almost my birthday so I guess you could call this a birthday beauty wishlist too lol. So here are some things which I have my eyes on right now and also why I'm interested in them.

Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Kit £26.50 / Magnitone Well Heeled Pedicure System £25 / Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel £18

My skin has been acting up over the past few weeks. It's been mostly clear for 3 months now but I think the stress of things going on in my life recently and also because I've had some bad pain flare ups over the past couple of weeks, it's caused my skin to freak out and I'm currently dealing with a fair few spots that don't seem to want to go away. I'm already a huge fan of Dermalogica and I really want to try out some of the products from their Clear Start range, which is why I thought the kit I found on LookFantastic which contains Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash (75ml), Breakout Clearing Booster (10ml) and the Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion (30ml) seemed interesting. Around this time of the year I notice the skin on feet becomes drier, which I know sounds weird because most people get dry skin in the weather. It's not super bad but it's not great either so I want to pick up a new pedicure system and I've got my eyes on the Magnitone Well Heeled Pedicure System. I've loved everything I've ever owned from Magnitone so I trust that their pedicure system will be great too.  Pixi have added some products to their "Glow Tonic" range and I love the original Glow Tonic and I've been using it more recently as my skin is being a pain and acting up. So when I saw that their Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel had become available to buy I put it in my basket ready to buy... but I've got a few other cleansers I want to finish before buying it.

Barry M Brow Wand £5.99 / Pixi PinkSalt Cleansing Oil £24 / Fresh Soy Face Cleanser £30

Barry M have definitely stolen the show in terms of drugstore brands for me over the past year. Everyone seems to be mad for Revolution but I honestly haven't been that blown away by their latest releases and I think they've increased their prices by a lot too. Barry M have so many interesting products to offer. My fave find from them has got to be their Unicorn Drops Primer Drops which gives a subtle but noticeable glow under your makeup or even when it's worn alone (it's technically a skin care product too!) and it smells super fruity too. Their new brow product "Brow Wand" has definitely piqued my interest as it's got a pencil on one end and a brow gel on the other - genius! The pencil does look quite chunky though so I don't know if I'd get on with it or not but it's worth a try. Pixi seem to be popping out new products by the week! Another new product which I have my eyes on and I can already verify that I shall be buying it soon is the PinkSalt Cleansing Oil which is infused with Himalayan Salt which helps to detoxify and purify the skin whilst deeply cleansing. It also contains Rosemary Leaf Oil which decongests and clarifies and Olive Oil which is a antioxidant and vitamin packed too. It really does sound perfect for my skin type! I also want to pick up the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser again. I have used a few travel size versions before and I remember loving it so I thought I'd just pop it on my wishlist anyway.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleli Bronzer £25 / OLAPLEX No.3 Hair Perfector £24 / It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil Free Matte Cream £31

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleli Bronzer for a while now but I just feel it is quite pricey for a bronzer and I don't wear bronzer all of the time either. But it does seem like a perfect bronzer for someone with a pale skin type like myself. Plus... it smells like chocolate, yum. Everyone seems to rave about OLAPLEX NO.3 Hair Perfector and I want to see what the hype is about. I've been using more treatment type of products on my hair recently and they've been working really well. So once I've used up a few products I already own, I think I may try it out for myself. I've already got the original It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream which I do really like but with me having an oilier skin type I think the Matte option would suit me better and keep me matte for longer. The original is very dewy (although it can be powered down) and the matte apparently has a more higher coverage too. So it's definitely one I want to pick up soon so I'm ready for the warmer weather!

IGK Hair Beach Club Volumizing Texture Spray £25 / BECCA Hydra Mist Set & Refresh Powder £32 / Essie Nail Polish in Clothing Optional £7.99

IGK Hair are a brand I've been wanting to try some products from for a while but they are on the pricier side. However a lot of people who I know who have tried them say that they are 100% worth the money and also that their products last longer than cheaper options too apparently? I also love the aesthetically pleasing packaging too. Although there's a few products by IGK Hair I'd love to try, I think the Beach Club Texture Spray is the one I want to try the most. I love the sound of the BECCA Hydra Mist Set & Refresh Powder! I know it sounds a little gimmicky but it does sound like a really interesting product which would be perfect for when the weather gets a little warmer. It apparently gives you a cooling effect when you apply it and I don't think there's anything else like it on the market either. I really want to pick up a few more Essie nail polishes because I just love Essie in general and I really want to get a few nude shades and also a few more colourful options too. The Clothing Optional shade is a mauve-grey kind of shade which is something I tend to sway towards as it quite a neutral everyday colour.

What's on your Beauty Wishlist right now?

I love doing fashion wishlists on my blog because there's always something I'm interested in buying and I'm always adding items into my favourites or wishlists on various different websites but I thought I'd change it up a little in this post and do a "Smart Casual Workwear Wishlist" instead of my usual fashion wishlists. I feel like a lot of people have different views on what is classed as Smart Casual but this is my take on what I feel is appropriate and within that particular bracket and also share what I would feel comfortable wearing day to day in a workplace environment.

I've decided that this year I'm going to try and get out of my comfort zone with what I wear on a daily basis. I'm very much a fan of a slogan or stripe tee or cosy jumper and leggings/jeggings and either boots or trainers. I just like being comfortable and cosy which isn't a bad thing but when I look in my wardrobe and I just feel like I have a lot of the same things in different colours and patterns. I rarely wear dresses or skirts, although I have been wearing dresses a little bit more over the past few months but that's because I find them comfortable when I'm bloated thanks to my health problems. I recently did a blog post titled "New Year, New Wardrobe" and it was all about why I want to be more confident with what I'm wearing and not to shy away from certain styles because I'm plus size and also to start shopping at different places to where I normally shop. So I thought in this post I'd bring to you a Wishlist which features both things I would buy which are in my comfort zone and also some things which aren't in my comfort zone at all.

A Beauty Wishlist

in , , , , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 7.10.18

Even though I know I own more makeup and skincare than I really need, after recently having a sort out and getting rid of things I don't use or like, I’ve been looking at some products I’m interested in buying or maybe even adding to my Christmas list as well as some products which I feel I’m missing in my beauty stash. So here are a selection of products I’ve currently got my eyes on right now.

I'm a huge fan of Joanie Clothing and there's quite a few pieces which I have my eyes on right now so I thought I'd do something a little different and do a Joanie Wishlist. I feel like everyone is always talking about the usual places like New Look, ASOS, Topshop etc and I feel like people are missing out on a right gem with Joanie. I do already own a few pieces from Joanie and they are always good quality and really comfortable to wear so if you're on the look out for some cute new pieces for your A/W wardrobe and like something a little different and/or vintage inspired then hopefully this post will give you some inspiration!

Spring is probably my favourite season, I love that the weather is warm but not too warm and that the cold days are not too cold. You get me? I also like that it's the season where everything comes back to life after the cold winter months and seeing daffodils for sale and spring lambs bounding about, I don't know... I just love it. I'm not fond of the cold weather and I don't particularly love Summer because I hate showing my bare arms and legs to the world. I also love Spring fashion and the fact that I can whip out my favourite denim jackets again or go out wearing a chunky knit cardigan instead of wearing a big unflattering coat. So I thought I'd share with you some things I've got my eyes on at the minute in a few places.

I thought today I would share with you some places in the US where I would love to visit at some point in my life. All of the places are places I would want to visit for various different reasons and I think there's quite a big difference between them all which is definitely a good thing. Me and my cousin were talking about places we want to visit in the US recently and we both realised that three of mine are not super close to each other but close enough for a road trip and it's made me realise that I would love to do some sort of road trip in America one day, it's definitely one for the bucket list! So here are my 5 places which I would love to travel to and explore in the US.
