My Summer Skincare Routine *

I'm finally writing my blog post about my current "Skincare Saviours" and what's working for my skin during the Summer. We have been pretty lucky this Summer because we have had a fair few heat waves but the heat does not agree with my oily skin, so here's my skincare routine and what products have been working for me this Summer.

For cleansing my skin, I tend to use 2-3 cleansers in rotation depending on how my skin is acting. I'm currently using my trusty Tea Tree Cleanser from The Body Shop which is a gel-like cleanser with a pretty thick consistency. The other two products I currently have in rotation are the Sensilab Cerin Acne Cleansing Gel* which I tend to only use when my skin is breaking out because of hormones, it contains tea tree essential oil and it narrows the pores and helps to maintain the balance between fat and moisture in the skin with drying it out. Also a newbie I'm really liking is the newly released T-Zone Charcoal & Bamboo Purifying Face Wash* which is mineral-oil free and contains naturally purifying activated Charcoal. I find having a few cleansers in the rotation really works for my skin and my skin doesn't get immune to one product if that makes sense.

For toner I'm currently using the Garnier PureActive Sensitive Anti-Blemish Tonic, I did lose faith in this a little a while ago because it was like my favourite skincare product because it really helped to clear my skin. But then all of sudden it stopped working for me and I was gutted. But I've recently started using it again and it's working really well for me again (for now anyway), after using it for about 4 days in a row I saw a huge difference in my skin and I've continued to use it since. Because I'm currently using a Microdermabrasion device once a week which I will be reviewing soon, I can't use the Garnier PureActive Tonic afterwards because of the active ingredients present - so I use the Simple Soothing Facial Toner for the following 24 hours after using the Microdermabrasion device and I also used the Simple Soothing Facial Toner when I'm home and just want to refresh my face a little.

My current go-to moisturiser for Summer is The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the scent but it does work really well for me. It's really light weight and it's not greasy at all, so it's perfect for my oily skin type. Also, I've been using it for the past couple of months and it still looks almost full because a little goes a long way with it.

I tend to use an exfoliator and also a face mask twice a week, depending on how my skin is and if it's acting up or not. For an exfoliator, I'm currently using either Newtons Labs Blackhead Fighting Facial Scrub which is more of a cream-like exfoliator which is a natural antibacterial scrub. Or I use the Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub which is grittier than the Newtons Labs exfoliator.

For face masks, I'm currently using the LUSH Don't Look At Me fresh face mask which contains lemon juice to tone complexion and rice syrup and grapefruit oil to give it a scrub-like texture. It's definitely a new favourite from LUSH. I also have been loving for the past couple of months The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask which I picked up when I got my Tea Tree Cleansers. I only really use it as a face mask but when I wash away the mask, it works as an exfoliator too.

Also adding to my deep cleanse kind of days I really like the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel to even out my complexion. It really makes my face look radiant the following morning and it smells lovely - kind of like a floral but fruity scent.

So there are my current go-to skincare products.
