Charlotte Tilbury | First Impressions

I'm a total newbie to Charlotte Tilbury so when I received a PR package from the Charlotte Tilbury PR team I was super excited, as expected! So today's post is all about my first impressions and thoughts on the products that I kindly received recently.

Beauty Icons Limited Edition Gift Set*

Magic Cream
I've heard so many great things about Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream and believe me it definitely lives up to the hype. It is quite thick and creamy so I'll be honest I don't think it's ideal for my oily skin because I prefer more lightweight moisturisers. But I have been using it under my eyes which is an area which gets very dry in the winter and I absolutely love it. I can tell if I forget to use it for a few days which shows it does work and my makeup sits on my skin so much better after I've used it. It smells lovely and floral which I personally really love and the jar is really pretty and luxurious looking.

K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick - Penelope Pink
You also receive a cute mini lipstick inside the gift set which I think is great if you're like me and are completely new to Charlotte Tilbury. I do like the shade Penelope Pink, it's a lovely, everyday kind of peachy-pink nude and I like that it's very hydrating on the lips too. I've already had a nosey at the other lipstick shades in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range and I have my eyes on Coachella Coral and Stoned Rose which I am planning on picking up when I feel like treating myself (which let's face it, will be soon!)

Full Fat Lashes Mascara
I was so excited to see a deluxe size mascara inside the set, I'm a complete mascara hoarder as you may know if you've been reading my blog for a while now. I do like the Full Fat Lashes mascara as it does lengthen and volumise as the name suggests but it doesn't really help my lashes to stay curled which is a shame. But my eyelashes are pretty rubbish so it's probably me rather than the mascara. But I do like to use it if I'm going for a natural, everyday makeup look.

Wonderglow Primer
Something else which I hoard is primers, I never used to be a primer kinda gal but now I can't get enough of them. I absolutely love this Wonderglow Primer, it really brightens up my face if I'm looking a little worse for wear and it just gives you a nice, healthy radiant glow. I really like that you can use it either under or on top of your foundation or even just on its own to give you a glowy, healthy look. It's definitely something I will be repurchasing very soon.

Lip Cheat Lip Liner - Pillow Talk
I'm pretty sure I let out a small squeal when I saw that this was in the Beauty Icons gift set and that it was full-size. I've been meaning to pick this up for so long because everyone and their mum seems to talk about it, I had even already put it on my Christmas list. I'm pretty sure Pillow Talk is a cult fave with bloggers and I now totally understand why. It's such a pretty, barely there "My lips but better" kind of shade and I'm just literally obsessed. I really want to treat myself to the Pillow Talk Matte Revolution lipstick soon.

I think the Beauty Icons Gift Set is great for someone like me who is new to the world of Charlotte Tilbury and wants to delve into trying out the products because even though the majority of the set is on the smaller size, it's a great way to see what works for you and what doesn't. Plus I like that there's a mixture of skincare and makeup in the gift set. You can buy this set for £55.

Scent Of A Dream EDP*

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the Scent Of A Dream bottle is? It's definitely the prettiest bottle of perfume I own right now. I love the classic vintage look. The scent of the perfume is definitely more for someone who likes a strong perfume because it does pack a punch as it contains top notes of lemon, Peach and Black Pepper. Heart notes of Jasmine, Frankincense, Tuberose and Violet and base notes of Fire Tree, Iso E Super, Patchouli and Ambroxan. I love that throughout the day you pick up different notes and it literally stays on from morning to night. It's a very sexy, mood lifting kind of scent and I really do like it.

Overall I absolutely get the hype for Charlotte Tilbury products and I shall definitely be trying out more products which catch my eyes in the new year. I've already treated myself to the Instant Look In A Palette in Beauty Glow which was kind of like a To Me, From Me early Christmas present because I felt like I needed it in my life. I will be writing a blog post all about it soon!
