Spring Makeup Picks

I think Spring is probably my favourite season for many reasons - the weather changing, lighter evenings, everything coming back to life, baby lambs, my birthday, being able to leave the house without a coat and obviously changing up my makeup looks. I’ve recently had a bit of a Spring makeup shakeup and added some new things to my collection and also pulled out some old favourites from last year. So I thought I’d do a blog post all about my go-to Spring makeup picks for this year.

I’ve been using a new release from Essence which is their You Better Work! Gym-Proof Primer* and I really like it. It’s quite a dewy primer like their Fresh & Fit Primer which I love but I feel like their latest edition works better for me because of my oily skin type. Whilst I haven’t hit the gym when wearing it, I have found that my makeup stays in place all day and I think it’s really great considering it’s only £3.50 in Wilko.

I’ve also been enjoying the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in the shade Swan. Whilst it is quite yellow-toned which is a shame considering the name suggests a super pale shade, I have found a way to make it work with my lightening drops. It offers medium-full coverage and is more of a demi-matte foundation I’ve found and it strangely looks better as the day goes on.

For concealing my usual under eye dark circles and blemishes I’ve been using the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer in C1. For brows I’ve been using the Lottie London Arch Rival and Glossier Boy Brow which have been my go to brow duo over the last few months.

I’ve been mainly using the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder which seems to give me a blur effect where I have more prominent pores, which I’m definitely not complaining about. For eyeshadow I’ve just started to use the Pixi Cafe con Dulce Multi Use Palette* which is a total dream to work with and I really like the powder to cream formula. I’ve also been using the L’Oreal Paradise Mascara which has been doing wonders and making my non-existent lashes look fluttery and noticeable without going OTT.

For blusher I’ve been using Benefit’s latest addition Gold Rush which is the most gorgeous peachy-gold blush and gives a lovely healthy glow but I’ve also been using highlighter as well because I like to look radiant and glowy in Spring (even though I’m anything but radiant rn lol) so I’ve been using either The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer* or the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand - both are gorgeous and give a lovely glow.

For bronzer I’ve just been using my holy grail bronzer which is the The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer in the lightest shade which I’ve been using and loving since last year. It gives a touch of warmth to my pale skin.

For lipstick I've been using a few new ones in my collection including Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang* which is more of a mid-deep pink, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk which is basically the perfect nude shade and Stila Colour Balm Lipstick in Sadie* which is a cute peachy pink shade which is ideal for Spring.
