What I've Been Reading, Watching and Listening To Lately

I haven't done one of these posts since around December last year so I thought it was about time I updated you on what I've been reading, watching and listening to lately. There's been good things and some things which I feel like could've been a lot better as well but in this post I'm just going to talk about the things I've enjoyed rather than the things which I feel could've been a lot better.

I really want to get back into reading again this year because last year I think I read about two books all the way through. I did start a few others but I never finished them, not because they weren't very good but just because I didn't feel like reading if that makes sense. However I decided to add to my ever growing TBR pile and I bought two new books last month which were Million Love Songs by Carole Matthews and also Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton. I haven't finished reading either of them yet but I've started both and I'm really enjoying them. I've read more of Million Love Songs which is about a woman named Ruby Brown who is a divorcee who is single for the first time in years and it's about how she wants to put on a brave face and step into the single world. She's not looking for anything serious but she then comes across two different men - both very different and with different circumstances. She has got to make up her mind whether if she wants something fun with no-strings or whether if she wants to settle into another serious relationship. It's described as a feel-good summer read and I definitely can agree with that statement and I haven't even finished the book yet!

I've been watching more TV shows than films over the past few months, I don't know why I think because I watched so many films over the Christmas season I've just got fed up of watching them, no matter what the genre. I loved series two of Clique which seemed to have dropped out of nowhere. I feel like Clique is one of those shows that should've got more hype when it was first released. It's so good! I haven't seen a ton of people talk about it yet it's such a interesting thriller type of series and it's available on iPlayer. The second series follows Holly who is back at university after a roller coaster of a first year. She has new room mates including Rayna, Fraser and also Louise from series one and she is just trying to get her life back on track and live like a normal student. But Holly is soon captivated by a new group of boys and she wants to find out more about them (particularly Jack) and she also becomes the centre of a scandal which puts her in the spotlight and one of her room mates goes missing which is completely out of character.

Sex Education is definitely one of the best TV shows I've watched in a while. I already can't wait for season 2! It's about Otis who is a socially awkward high school teen who is completely inexperienced when it comes to girls however his mum is a professional sex therapist and does her work from home. So Otis, although inexperienced himself, knows what he's talking about when it comes to anything sex related. So when Maeve the school's witty bad girl realises that Otis's advice helps out one of her friends she decides to set up a clinic with him to help fellow students with any problems and to make some money. It's so funny but it's also quite heartbreaking at times too. I really like that they cover a wide variety of topics during the show too.

The Secret Life of The Zoo is definitely one of my favourite shows. It's not only super cute and interesting to find out more about animals it also just puts me in a good mood whenever I watch it. I'm also planning a trip to Chester Zoo when the weather gets a little better as I haven't been to a zoo in ages, so it'll be so nice to see the animals from the show in real life too.

For music I've mainly been listening to Foals because they are releasing their new album next month and I'm so excited! I've literally been a fan of Foals since I was about 14 so it's been over 10 years (wow, that makes me feel so old haha). I've been listening to their new song Exits on repeat for weeks now and I've also been listening to some of my favourites by them including Blue Blood, Birch Tree, Night Swimmers and My Number. I've also been listening to Olly Murs a little too because I just find his songs are so easy to listen to and they are also really catchy and although I'm not super keen on their latest album I've been listening to some older songs from The 1975 too.

What have you been reading, watching and listening to lately? I feel like my next post will be jam packed because loads of my fave shows are returning to TV soon including Killing Eve, Good Girls, Jane The Virgin, Game of Thrones and more!
