Getting My Glow On With Pixi

-This post contains PR/gifted items, no paid content. All opinions are my own-
Pixi are hands down my favourite brand for skincare. Obviously not every product I've tried from them has worked for me but the majority have and that's a big deal if you have a temperamental skin type like mine. My bathroom is basically being overtaken by Pixi products and I'm totally okay with that (some things have been gifted and some I have bought myself just for disclosure). The morning after my birthday back in April I had a lovely surprise which was a PR parcel from Pixi and inside the box was a bunch of products from their newly expanded Glow Tonic range. The crazy thing is that I already had my eyes on two of the new products in the box and I was planning on using some of my birthday money to buy them with as I was intrigued by them both. So I thought in this post I'd go through the products I was kindly sent and talk about which products I liked and which I just haven't got on with.

First up is the Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel RRP £18* which is one of the products I was planning on treating myself to with my birthday money. It's described as a hydrating cleansing gel which removes any impurities without stripping the skin of essential moisture. It contains a unique blend of glycolic acid, horse chestnut extract, aloe and ginseng. It doesn't foam or emulsify or anything like that which I guess you could say is a nice change as I do find that foam cleansers tend to dry out my skin if I use them for more than 2-3 days in a row. It also works really well with a silicone cleansing brush if you use one. I actually have a blog post about Magnitone's XOXO cleansing brush here if you're interested in finding out why I'm a big fan. I personally don't think it smells like the original Glow Tonic and I can definitely smell the horse chestnut extract when I'm applying it which smells nice and refreshing. I will definitely be picking up another tube when it runs out!

I'm already a big fan of their Glow Tonic from £10* and I received the travel-size in the PR parcel but because I already have a huge bottle of Glow Tonic* I gave the one I got in the parcel to my cousin as she says it really helps with her skin and any breakouts. I find it really helps with texture on my face and I also use it on my shoulders and chest area if I get any little bumps or spots. It honestly works wonders and I literally can't be without it!

I'm not going to lie I didn't think I was going to get on with the Glow Tonic Serum RRP £26* just because my skin has been going crazy over the past month or so since I switched to the mini pill (a blog post about that is coming soon btw because I have a LOT to say) and I've cut back on using my fave serums and oils because to be quite honest, I've been terrified of using them and making my skin worse. However this has been nice to use and it's a great booster product if you're skin is looking a little drab. It doesn't make you look oily, it just makes you look glowy in a good way if that makes sense. I've been using it before bed a few times a week and I wake up the following morning with a natural looking glow. It is on the pricier end of the scale when it comes to how much I'm willing to spend on a serum or oil but I will most likely treat myself to it again in the future.

The pHenomenal Gel RRP £24* is the other product which I was going to buy as it just really intrigued me. It's described as a balancing and pH neutralising moisture gel. It's unscented and it's really lightweight on the skin so it's great for an oily skin gal like me. I do find it leaves a bit of a tacky feel to my skin and I know I'm not applying too much because on the tube it says to apply a "coin size amount" and that's what I've been doing. So I've been using it in the evening instead of the morning and using my Glossier Priming Moisturiser or Tamaar London Balance Cream Complex* in the morning. However, I do think it's a nice light moisturiser and it's very soothing on the skin. I think all skin types would get on with it well. I think I will repurchase it again because I think it's a good product to settle my skin if I've been going hard on the glycolic acid or salicylic acid.

The On-The-Glow RRP £18* is what I would call a solid moisturiser and I'm just not sold on it if I'm being totally honest. I just don't think it's a product for an oily skin type because it leaves what I can only describe as a greasy film which is just not what I need. Apparently you can use it on your face, lips, body and hair but I've only used it on my face and lips so far. I can see why people like to use it as a natural looking glowy highlighter over makeup and I think people who have dry or sensitive skin would really like it. It's also a good idea if you travel a lot but it's just not for me unfortunately. However I do like the funky twist-up packaging and I do think you get a good amount of product for the price. I think it just depends on what you look for in a moisturiser and what skin type you have.

Have you tried any of Pixi's extended Glow Tonic range yet?
