I thought I would do a little haul for today’s post as just before Christmas I ordered several products from The Body Shop. Some of the products I picked up were repurchases of some of my favourites such as the Moringa Shower Gel, Moringa Body Yogurt and the Strawberry Lip Butter, so I won’t be talking about any of them as I've talked about them all before. Instead, I will talk about the products that I’ve not tried before. I also have an exclusive 20% off code to share with you at the end of this post!

A Beauty and Lifestyle Haul

I thought I would do a little Beauty and Lifestyle haul on my blog today as I really enjoyed putting together my last beauty and lifestyle haul so I thought why not? So here are some things I’ve picked up or received recently and how I’ve been getting on with them.

Goodbye Money, Hello Beauty Haul

in , , , by Kirsty Milward, 29.9.17

Let's just say I've been spending money on a lot of things I don't really need over the past month or so. But there's been a lot of things I've been wanting to try out and also I've been feeling a bit rubbish lately, so I've just been treating myself to some new things because why not? I thought I'd share with you the majority of the things I've picked up recently.

Tanya Burr Chasing The Sun Illuminating Powder - Champagne Sorbet

I own a lot of highlighters but I just fancied buying a new one and also a more glowy highlighter and by the reviews I read, a lot of people said that it was more glowy than glittery. Plus I thought it looked kind of similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Highlighters without the steep price tag. I do like this highlighter and it's a great one for paler skin tones but it's a little more glittery than I would've liked, it does give off a natural glow or can be build up to a more glazed donut kind of highlighter but it's not exactly what I was looking for but I do like it a lot and I have been wearing it a lot since buying it.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer - Light
I also wanted to try out a few new concealers because I've found that my go-to Collection Lasting Perfection has just decided to stop working for me (again!). I was going to pick up the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer but I swatched it in store and it seemed to be very glittery which is not what I wanted, so I decided on this one instead. It does have good coverage but it is slightly sheer. It's definitely brightening which is what I need for my constantly tired looking under eyes. Plus I really like the packaging and it smells nice and fruity too.

Bilou Shower Foam - Cotton Candy
I saw this brand on Instagram and thought "I've got to try them out". I love a shower foam and I really like the packaging of these, it's cute and fun. Also this smells amazing! It definitely gives LUSH a run for their money. You can pick them up in all different scents from Tasty Donut to Coco Cocktail and more. I just think it's something different and they are really affordable at £3.99.

Lee Stafford CoCo LoCo Heat Protection Spray
I've been loving Lee Stafford products recently, they work well for my hair and they are really affordable too. I have reviewed some of the latest products on my blog here. I decided to pick up a heat protection spray too from the CoCo LoCo range because it smells amazing, basically like Summer and I just wanted to pick up a new heat protection spray. It works well and my hair feels lovely and soft after I use it.

LUSH Rocket Science Bath Bomb
I had to buy this because it's so cute - it has everything going for it... glitter, a sprinkle of stars and a lovely uplifting scent. Plus it's probably one of the cheapest bath bombs available at LUSH at £2.95! I have already got a few bath bombs and bubble bars to get through but I can't wait to use this one.

L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Masque Serum

I usually stick to what I know best with hair masks but you may have noticed I have been trying out a lot of new hair products lately. I do usually buy the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Fibrology Thickening Masque but I fancied a change and got this L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Maque Serum instead because I just thought it's something different to try. It's really lightweight and doesn't feel like it's weighing your hair down like some masques can feel like. If my hair feels like it needs a little bit of attention but not a heavy masque then I'll use this instead.

Rimmel Wonderwing Eyeliner
Another thing which I was intrigued about trying is this Wonderwing eyeliner. I'm bloody terrible at eyeliner, I can do my left eye pretty well but when it comes to my right eye and the awkward angle when trying to do the "flick" is where I usually fail miserably. Which is why you won't see me wearing eyeliner very often because it takes me ages and I usually get it wrong and then just give up. This has a wing stamp to make life easier but whilst I'm writing this, I haven't actually tried it properly so I can't say whether I like it or not yet.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I finally picked up the highly raved about All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay because I wanted to see if it's worth the hype. I decided to pick up the travel size first which is still quite pricey for 30ml for £9.99. I haven't tried it yet because I want to try it when I know I'm going to be out of the house for a long amount of time and not just popping out for a few hours. But I may do a review soon about whether or not I think it's worth the hype and money.

Zoella Snowella Body Mist
Lastly, is the Zoella Snowella Body Mist... Did I really need another perfume/body mist? Nope. But I couldn't resist the festive, packaging and cute little pom-pom, could I? I really like the scent too, it's not what I was expecting if I'm being honest, I thought it would be more spicy scented but it's very fresh and kind of crisp and I use it all of the time. Plus I think it's a good price 100ml.

I thought because I've "accidentally" placed two orders on The Body Shop during the 40% OFF sale that I would do a haul kind of blog post. I haven't done a haul on my blog since either late last year or early this year, so it's about time I did another. I haven't gone crazy and spent a fortune, I think all together, thanks to the promotion and also I had a £5 Love Your Body voucher, everything came to just over £22 and for the amount of things I picked up, I think it's a bargain. Here's more about what I picked up...

Pinita Colada Body Sorbet
After picking up the Pinita Colada Shower Gel and Body Butter last month, I really wanted to pick up another product in the range. So when I saw that this was in the sale I decided to give it a go. It's so refreshing to put on when the weather is hot and it smells amazing. So I've picked up two of them because they are only limited edition for the Summer.

English Dawn Gardenia Shower Gel
This isn't for me, it's to pop in my mums birthday bag along with some other bits, I always get her a few shower or bath products to go along side with her main presents. I'm not 100% sure if she's going to like the scent so I've literally bought a fail safe Dove shower gel as well just incase lol, she's so awkward. But I hope she does like it, I think it's really nice, it's floral but not too heavy if that makes sense.

Fuji Green Tea Body Sorbet

After picking up the Pinita Colada Body Sorbet and loving it, I decided to pick it up in the Fuji Green Tea scent too in my second order. Again, it's really refreshing and the scent lingers for hours. I've literally been asked what perfume I'm wearing whilst wearing the Body Sorbets.

Shade Adjusting Lightening Drops
Because the majority of the foundations in my collection right now are not the perfect match for my skin, I've decided to pick up some lightening drops because I think it will save me money in the long run. The majority of the foundations are good but it's the shade (even though they usually are the lightest shade). So I've decided to go down the lightening drops route and hopefully they will work for me, I'll probably do a review kind of blog post soon.

Honeymania Lip Butter

I didn't need another lip balm/butter but I decided to get another one anyway. I'll be honest, this doesn't really smell of Honey that much but I think I got it for less than £2 so I'm not too fussed. It's a nice sized lip balm to pop in your bag when you're on the go and it is really moisturising.

Camomile Gentle Eye Make Up Remover
My ultimate favourite eye makeup remover is the Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover, it's amazing, it literally melts off your eye makeup in a matter of seconds. I did a review about here a while ago. But I have seen people say how good this eye makeup remover is from The Body Shop, so I thought I'd pick it up in the 60ml bottle to try it out.

Matte Lip Liquid - Crete Carnation
I was kindly sent one of these Matte Lip Liquids and I love it, I received the shade Sydney Amaryllis (it's the lipstick I'm wearing in my current profile photo if anyone is wondering). They are very similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, which I love. So I decided to pick up the shade Crete Carnation, I really wanted to pick up another shade as well as this one (which I've forgotten the name of, oops) but it was out of stock. But I love this shade, it's a very pretty pink colour but not too vibrant, it's a nice everyday type of pink. I sometimes find "nude" pinks often look vibrant on me because of being so pale but this shade is perfect. If you're a pale girl like me and you're looking for a pretty petal kind of pink lip colour then I really recommend this one. I will be definitely picking up some more of the liquid lipsticks from The Body Shop soon.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask
After picking up some of the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop back in April after so many people recommended the range to me to help my oily/spot prone skin, I haven't looked back since. I still pick up the odd cleanser or two or get sent skin care products to review but I haven't come across anything that tops the Tea Tree range (yet). So I decided to pick up the Tea Tree Purifying Mask. I'll admit I probably wouldn't have bought this if it wasn't for the 40% off code because it's £11 when full price. But we'll see, I'll probably do a blog post review about this soon or feature it in my "New In Drawer" blog post with a little review.

I did also have a few other things in the orders I placed but unfortunately, they went out of stock after I'd placed the orders. But I'm still really happy with what I've got and I can't wait to try everything out properly.

Have you picked anything up in The Body Shop sale?

So Black Friday is a pretty new thing over here in the UK. A few years ago when it started big, it seemed like people were being possessed and we had people being shown on the news literally having full on fights for TV's and falling over each other (lol?) Which is why I would rather wake up early, stay snug at home, in my comfy pyjamas and try and get my deals online. So I thought I'd share my little tips on preparing yourself for Black Friday.

Save, Save, Save
I know when this post goes up that Black Friday will be just under 2 weeks away on the 25th of November and you can't really save a huge amount of money up in that time. But if you can save money between now and then or hold back on spending money on things you don't REALLY need right now, then you're probably going to be a happy bunny when you get yourself some bargains!

Back Up Pennies!
Also having a little bit of back up money is a good idea too, just because you never know what other things you're going to see that may catch your eyes. The best way to do this is think that you only have X amount to spend to get your deals but really you've got another X amount to spend for extra goodies. If that makes sense? Idk

Bookmark and Don't Give Into Temptation
I did this last year and I've done it again this year. I've gone around websites (New Look, Boots, Superdrug, Asda etc) and bookmarked things I really want or want to buy as gifts for Christmas and now I'm just going to wait and see if they get a discount or go on offer on Black Friday because there's nothing more annoying than buying something and then seeing it go on offer days later, right?

Christmas Is Just Over 6 Weeks Away!
Like what I've just wrote above, this is the perfect opportunity to get your Christmas pressies sorted (and save some money!) and maybe even bag yourself a few more treats too without feeling too guilty! Hello 3 for 2 offers! I like you a lot.

Browse Early
If you look around now, things that are already in the sales will more than likely go a little more cheaper during Black Friday. Because companies know that their sites will be busy and we all get the impulse to put more than we really want or need in our baskets. So if they reduce items even more for one day only, then people are going to give in and buy them. Plus companies are more than likely just trying and needing to get rid of old stock to make room for new.

Ask
If you know people who work in stores that have items that you're interested in hopefully getting cheaper during Black Friday then ask them if they know of anything that's going to be on offer and they may spill the beans lol.

So there's my tips on preparing yourself for Black Friday. Hope you liked reading this post and If you're going to hit the high streets instead of staying snug at home, then good luck and try not to get yourselves on the news. haha x

Here's my review post about the Lush samples I received in my delivery last week which you can read about here. I was going to write this up sometime this week and post it next week but I've got some different kind of post ideas for next week so keep a look out for them!

In the Lush delivery the samples I received were Sandstone Soap, Fireside  Soap, Curly Wurly Shampoo and Fresh Farmacy Facial Soap. I have tried some of these before but it was a long time ago so I wanted to give them another go. So here's what I thought about each of them. Hope you enjoy!

First up I want to talk about is the Sandstone soap. I would definitely say this is more of a Spring/Summer scented soap but it is very refreshing so it'd probably be good one to use on those mornings you need to wake your body up fast. It's very citrusy and there is some sand present in the soap so it also gives a slight exfoliation to the skin too. It makes you feel like you want to be on a beach in the sun. I think I will be buying this in the future because I do really like it. I usually don't go for citrusy scents but this is lovely. It's quite similar to the Bohemian scent but I do think this one is nicer and prettier.

Next up is the Curly Wurly Shampoo. I have used this before in some random samples I received a while ago. I didn't ask for it specifically so when I opened the sample pot I was almost knocked out from the strong scent of coconut. It very overpowering so I didn't actually use it for a while. But I thought one day I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and try it. Once I put it on, it lathered up well and the scent calmed down and a sweet coconut scent stayed in my hair for ages after blow drying and my hair looked more fuller.  So because it was about six months since I first tried it I thought I'd give it another go. This time when I tried it, it didn't lather up the same. I had to use some of my coconut water shampoo with it to get a better lather. Then once I blow dried it I had lumps of white coconut clumps in my hair and it looked like I had done an bush tucker trial and got worms or lice in my hair. Not a good look! It did however have the nice sweet coconut scent again. Don't know if it was a bad batch but I wouldn't use it again.

Next is the Fresh Farmacy Facial Soap. I have used this before and I do ask for a sample of it here and there as a kind of back up cleanser. I only tend to use this when I've either washed my face a lot during the day (like in the summer when it's warm) or when skin is feeling a little sensitive or when I'm not well and I just want a light cleanse to refresh my skin. So I don't see the point in buying a 100g because I love my Coalface soap more and use that every single day. This smells similar to the Aqua Marina Cleanser which smells very sea like in my opinion. Unfortunately me and Aqua Marina didn't get along and I had a reaction and my skin went all red then I was covered in spots for about a week and a half. So when I first got a sample of this I was a little wary but it didn't smell as strong as Aqua Marina. It's smells more soothing and relaxing because of the Lavender Oil present too. So I gave it a go and I've used it here and there ever since. If you have sensitive/dry skin then I'd definitely recommend this one.

Final sample is the Fireside Soap from the Winter range this year. I loved the flame on this soap and the description sounded lovely. I do love the smell of a bonfire. I would've bought it but it was out of stock when I placed my order. So I thought I'd see if I could get a sample and I did! When I first smelled it I was thinking is this the right soap? It didn't smell like the smoky, woody, winter smell I was expecting at all. It just smells like Cloves with a tad of vanilla to me. So it was disappointing. Then I used it as a hand wash and the scent smelled different than it did when I first got it. So then I used it as a body wash and it was okay I guess. It was more of a spicy vanilla but the smell didn't linger at all. I think the best thing to do with this soap for anyone who is unsure about buying it is to get a sample and try it out for yourself. I feel like it was a bit of a let down... or that my sense of smell isn't working properly. People were saying they could smell the smoky, winter smell and I don't at all. So I'm not going to be buying this one when I next shop at Lush.

So there's my sample reviews. Have you tried any of these out before?

What did you think? Hoped you liked this post!
Remember to keep a look out for my new posts next week  x

So here's a little mini Christmas Lush haul I ordered on the release day of the Christmas range. We all know when the Winter range is on the shelves in Lush it's basically means Christmas is here, right? So I thought I'd share what I got and why...

So first thing I chose from the Christmas range is the newly designed Shoot For The Stars. I only bought one of these because I didn't know if I'd like the new display and the bath melt which get's released from the golden stars. Sometimes my skin gets irritated by things like that but I'm really hoping my skin behaves so I can buy more. The smell is the same as usual and is one of my all time favourite scents from Lush which is Honey I Washed The Kids. I think Honey I Washed The Kids smells like Honey and Caramel mixed together. The price of these bath bombs is £4.25. I really hope I like this one as much as the old design. I have kind of got my doubts about it because the old one released a lot of different colours (blue, yellow, pink, purple) so obviously it was a very colourful bath bomb. The new one looks like it just releases an blue colour and then the golden/yellow bath melts cast a golden shimmer over the top of the blue. But we'll see.

I will more than likely post a picture from the bath bombs I've bought in this mini haul on instagram in the upcoming weeks so you can follow me here to see them if you'd like.

Next from my little haul is the Rose Jam Shower Gel in 500g. I've wrote about this shower gel already on my blog. I came across it purely accidentally because of the boxing day sales. Because of the usual crashing on the website I just put whatever I could click on in my basket and checked out and Rose Jam was in one of the gift sets I got. (Home For Christmas gift set? maybe?) And I fell in love with it. I've never smelled this scent in anything else before, it's an unusual Rose scent and I find really calming and relaxing after a stressful day. It's one of those smells that you can use all year round as well. So I've basically been rationing an 100g bottle since January this year and now I have the huge 500g bottle, yay! I was going to buy another 100g for now but I found out was going to get an 250g bottle as one of my Christmas presents this year because I'm always going on about it. So I've put the money to that to get the bigger bottle so it'll last me longer. So yeah my Rose Jam shower gel is a very early Christmas present lol.
The prices range between: £4.95 100g, £9.95 250g, £16.50 500g and £27.79 1kg.

Next is the redesigned Northern Lights bath bomb. I can't say whether this bath bomb will be as good as the old design because I've never been able to get my hands on the old design. (Yes really) To put it blunt my local Lush shop is in an place which I hate and I only really go there if I really have to. So I tend to order online more than going the shop. But the last time they were in the Christmas range they always seemed to be out of stock online. I really like the new design though, it quite heavy considering it's cheaper than the Shoot For The Stars bath bomb. This one is £3.95. It smells very fresh and floral. It's really nice, definitely going to buy another one of these. I think this one would be a nice present too because it doesn't look like an usual round bath bomb because of it's unique shape.

Finally is the 100g Coalface facial soap. This isn't a Christmas product but I was running low and it's one of my holy grail skin care product. It's amazing. It's definitely made me skin less angry and it helps to calm down any breakouts. It's smells like Charcoal and Sandalwood mainly. But I have noticed in the past two of these I've had that they smell of licorice more and it kind of overrides the Charcoal scent. Some people may love that but I'm not a huge fan of licorice so it does let it down for me a little but I still swear by it. It's definitely something you should try if you have oily skin. I tend to cut mine up in thirds just because I find it easier to work with and they seem to last me around 5 months. So it's worth the money. The price of these is: £5.95 for 100g, £14.85 for 250g and £29.75 for 500g.

I did ask for some samples and I am going to write about them in an separate post in the next week or so. I have tried three of them before and then there's one I haven't tried because it's a new winter range product. The samples I got are: Fresh Farmacy soap, Sandstone soap, Fireside soap and Curly Wurly Shampoo. So keep a look out for the post about these soon!

That's all of my mini haul. I thought I'd do a little chrismassy background for the Christmas range products because my cute little lights arrived lol. Hope you enjoyed the post! Remember to keep a look out for the samples review post coming either next week or the week after x
