Testing W7 Makeup

So I've heard mostly good things about w7 products, they're super affordable, easy to get hold of (mainly online at Amazon/Ebay) and cruelty-free which is a huge plus to me but I've never properly tried them out. I also like that they do dupe-like products of more high products because I love finding a good dupe. I thought I would pick a few products which have caught my eye and do a kind of testing/review based blog post about them.

I picked up the palette Beat It! for £3.97 with free delivery on Amazon which is a complete steal. The majority of the shades are very pigmented and they last all day. Also, I'm a complete sucker for products which are named and in this palette, the eyeshadows have their own little names so I'm completely sold. I'm not even kidding about the name thing, I literally bought a deodorant last week because its name was the same as one of my current favourite songs lol. I'm really loving the shades "Moon Shine", "The Full Monty", "Candlelight" and "Loaded" from the Beat It! palette right now.

I definitely think I'll be picking up another palette or two from the W7 range, they are really affordable, blend out nicely and the Beat It! palette has some lovely shades for everyday wear.

I also picked up the Lashtastic False Liquid Lashes Mascara on Amazon after reading so many good reviews about how this is better than Benefit Rollerlash and more high-end mascaras, I was really looking forward to trying it out. I like the brush as it's quite spiky and good for separating lashes but that's where my pros end... The formula is very watery and it transfers really easy and it's quite messy to use. It also did absolutely nothing for my eyelashes, literally! I'll admit my eyelashes are very stubborn, short and don't stay curled for long but this was just like adding a black tint. I got no volume from the mascara at all and I just felt quite let down after reading the great reviews. For £2 it's a bargain if it works for you but for me, it's a definite no.

The next product is the Prime Magic Camera Ready Face Primer which I picked up on Ebay for £3.19 with free delivery. As you can see it looks similar to the Smashbox Photo Finish foundation primer. I can't say if it's a dupe or not because I'm never tried the Smashbox one but when reading the reviews, a lot of the people were saying it was very similar.

I really like this primer, I think if you put a little too much on it does feel quite slippery on the skin but I apply it in small amounts and see how it feels. It definitely improves the longevity of my makeup and it's the cheapest primer I've come across which I really like. So I do recommend picking this primer up and giving it a try.

The final product is the Hollywood Bronze and Glow and what do you know, here's another dupe-like product. Again I've not tried the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow because it is quite pricey at £49. This W7 one cost just £1.80 at the time on Amazon it's now gone to £2.50 and can only be an add-on purchase for some reason now, but you can still get it on Ebay with free delivery. If you read my "5 Makeup Products For a Dewy, Healthy Look" post, you'll know I mentioned there's another highlighter I'm loving, well here it is. The highlighter in this palette is beautiful, it's not over the top but it's easy to build and it just looks really pretty and glowy and it's great for super pale skin. It's not overly shimmery, it's just right for me. The same goes for the bronzer, it's pretty, it works well with my pale skin, it does look kind of orange when I first apply but it blends out nicely. It's a shimmer bronzer but I do like it a lot, specially for the summer. This palette is one of the best things I've bought this year and it was a complete steal!

Have you tried out any W7 products, if so what did you think?

  2. I tried out a few of their products and the bronze and glow palette was by far the favourite for me too. The bronze shade is perfect for me, it creates a nice shadow so it doesn't look like obvious contour :) x
