Essence Festival Fun Range

I was kindly sent some of the "Festival Fun" range from Essence a few weeks ago. As you may know by know if you've been reading my blog for the past couple of months, I love everything about the brand Essence - They're affordable, easy to pick up either in your local Wilko or online and everything is also cruelty-free! Here's what I thought about the products I was sent from the "Festival Fun" range and also what I thought about some other bits I've been sent too.

Festival Fun Range* -

Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss - Behind The Scenes - £2
As I've said before on my blog, I'm not a huge lip gloss fan, I'm more into my liquid lipsticks. But this lipgloss is really nice, easy to apply and also smells lovely! It also isn't sticky, like most lip glosses are. I think a clear lipgloss is great to have in your makeup collection, just in case you ever feel like making one of your liquid lipsticks look more glossy, for £2 it's a steal.

Out Of Space Stories Nail Polish - Outta Space Is The Place - £2
I already own one of the Out Of Space Stories Nail Polishes and it's gorgeous, so I was really happy to find another one in the PR package (they go out of stock so quickly in my local Wilko!). I received the shade Outta Space Is The Place and it's so pretty, it's a kind of pink, holographic colour. I do find you need 2-3 coats to get a good coverage but it's totally worth it because it's stunning, I've even had some compliments whilst wearing it.

Stand Out 3D Touch Manicure Stickers - £1.30
I haven't properly tried these out yet, I've only used two of them but there are lots of different ones to use and are really cute and just add a little something different to your nails without having to go the nail salon.

Cut Out Manicure Stencils £1
These are so easy to use, I thought they would be quite fiddly but they're not. Really like these and they are so cheap, great if you've not got a steady hand (like me!) when trying to do nail art.

I Love Extreme Volume Waterproof Mascara - £2.80
I'll admit, I was pretty sure I wouldn't get on with this mascara as I did pick up the original I Love Extreme Volume Mascara (pink packaging) after reading so many great reviews and unfortunately for me, it doesn't really do much for my lashes. It's okay for a natural look but that's about it. BUT... this one has definitely surprised me and to be honest, it's probably my second favourite mascara right now (Maybelline Lash Sensational has been my ultimate fave for ages). The brush for this waterproof mascara is different to the original I Love Extreme Volume mascara and I think that's why I get on with it so well, it definitely volumises my lashes and I've found that they stay curly for longer too. Really recommend trying this if you're in the market for a new, affordable mascara!

Kajal Pencil Eyeliner - £1
I tend to stick to more blacks, greys and browns for eyeliner but this colour is really pretty, great for a party/festival or if you just fancy a pop of colour for a change. The staying power of this kajal pencil is good for the price too.

The Gel Nail Polish - Coral Me Crazy & Party Princess £1.60
I already own a few of the gel nail polishes from Essence so I already knew I would get along with these shades too. The shade Coral Me Crazy is an eye-catching and vibrant colour - perfect for a festival or party! and Party Princess looks lovely over the top of the Coral Me Crazy, because who doesn't love some glitter? I love how easy these gel polishes are to apply and how fast they dry. After using my Collection top coat, I can easily get away with wearing the gel nail polish from 5-7 days with maybe the odd touch up here and there.

Prismatic Rainbow Glow Highlighter - Be a Unicorn - £3.50
First of all, how pretty is this highlighter?! It's almost too pretty to use! But let's face it, how could I resist not swatching it or wearing it before taking the photos for this post (I'm so weak). For a festival look you could definitely wear the colours separately but I've been using all of colours together - I tend to just swish around my brush through all of the colours and kind of stipple it onto my cheeks with a flat top brush (for some reason, I'm loving flat top brushes right now?). It looks gorgeous. It gives off a kind of a silvery glow with a hint of glitter, it's nothing over the top but it's definitely a highlighter you can build up to a blinding glow with a few layers.

I was also sent a few more things to add to my Essence collection before I received the Festival Fun package which was really nice, so I thought I'd add them on to this post!

I received two lovely brushes which look kind of similar to Spectrum Brushes but you can pick both of these up and still have some change from a £5 note. The Eyeshadow Brush is £1.30 and the Powder Brush is £3, bargain! I do love my Spectrum Brushes I'm not going to lie, but if you have a brush addiction like me (lol) then you'll know that their brushes can take quite a hit on your bank account if you buy a few at the same time. So it's fab to find some as equally, eye-catching brushes which are great quality and do just as good a job. Expect to see these in more blog photos but you've got to admit, they are very cute and photo worthy.

I also received a few more pretty gel nail polishes. I received the shades - Perfect Match and also Love Me Like You Do and they are definitely my kind of colours and I'm been wearing them a lot lately.

Overall I've loved trying out all of these fab products I've been sent. Essence are definitely one of my current favourite brands.

  1. That was so nice of Essense to send you these products! They are all such fun colours and products to use. It's been years now since I went to a festival, but this post has made me rethink that this summer.

This was a lovely post and has given me some great ideas thank you!
