5 Cruelty-Free & Vegan Friendly Haircare Products I've Been Trying Out Recently

-This post contains PR Samples/Gifted items but no paid content. All opinions are my own-
Although I have a fair amount of hair care products which have been my favourites for a while, I'm always up for trying out new products and different brands to see if they work for my hair type which is basically a bit of everything - it's quite thin although it doesn't look it really because I like my hair to be cut quite blunt to make it look thicker and it's also frizzy and dry but my roots get greasy quickly. So it's really hard to find products which work for everything. In today's post I'm writing about five products I've been trying recently and whether they worked for me.

I've already tried some products from Design.Me Hair before and my hair seemed to like the majority of the products I tried out so I obviously said a big fat yes when I got the opportunity to try out their latest release which is the Design.Me Hair Hold.Me Hairspray RRP £13.96* and available from Sally Beauty. It comes in a whopping 330ml can and has 3 different settings from a light hold, medium hold and strong hold. I personally tend to wear my hair either wavy or with loose beachy curls and I tend to use a salt spray to add some texture first and then I go in with a hairspray to hold everything in place. I have been trying some different brands as my go-to hairspray from Fudge seems to have been discontinued but no product I've tried since seems to be right for my hair. They are either too sticky, make my hair feel hard or smell weird. I love the idea of having three settings in one can and also the packaging is simple but cute which is something else I like with Design.Me Hair. The hairspray itself works really well with my hair, I tend to use either the first or second setting depending on how my hair is behaving, however I know if I need a really strong hold then I can just switch it up to the third setting. My mum also keeps waltzing off with the hairspray because she uses it on her fringe which has a mind of it's own I swear but she's also commented on how well the hairspray has been performing on her fringe too. So it's a thumbs up from both me and my mum!

I was also sent a bunch of Maui Moisture products last month to try out. Unfortunately the Strength and Anti-Breakage Agave* range just didn't seem to agree with my hair for some reason which was really annoying because the range smells gorgeous so I was a little gutted about that. However the Sea Minerals range which is aimed at coloured hair seems to work really well for my hair. I've been loving using all of the products sent over to me which were the Shampoo*, Conditioner* and Heat Shield Mist*. The range smells very tropical and summer-y which is really nice and I love that the scent lingers in your hair. I'm definitely going to repurchase the Sea Minerals products again and I'll probably have a look at what the other ranges offer and give a few more a whirl.

Brand Alley are a online fashion retailer who have daily designer sales from clothes, bags, homeware and beauty. They sell many well known brands in all different departments and offer up to 80% off the RRP. They sent me over the beauty blogger favourite Philip Kingsley Elasticizer* in Coconut Breeze which was £34 but now £25 on their website. The Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer has always been something I've been wanting to try out so I couldn't wait to give it a go! It's a pre-shampoo treatment which you pop on before shampooing obviously and then you use the shower cap which comes along with the product and then you leave it for 10-20 minutes or for more of an intensive treatment you can apply to damp hair and leave on overnight and wash out in the morning (I've not yet tried that though). I am familiar with pre-shampoo treatments but if you aren't then the idea is to pre-cleanse your hair and to remove any dirt or product build up so then you get better results from your shampoo and conditioner. The Philip Kingsley Coconut Breeze Elasticizer is also suitable for all hair types which is great! It's worked really well for me each time I've used it and it means I can easily go an extra day without without washing my hair. It also smells gorgeous and quite similar to the Maui Moisture Sea Minerals Range so I've been using all of the products together sometimes too.

  1. I've been wanting to try a few products from Maui Moisture for a while now, I might just have to try this range and see if it agrees with my hair! x
