What I've Been Reading, Watching and Listening To Lately

I can't believe the last time I talked about what I've been reading, watching and listening to lately was back in October?! So I thought it was about time I updated you on what's been keeping me entertained lately...

I know I always say this but I really want to get back into reading this year because I seem to start a book and never finish it. I recently picked up Colleen Hoover's latest book Regretting You which I've just started to read so I can't really say my thoughts just yet. However, I always finish her books because they're always so good and pull you in quickly. My favourites are Hopeless, Maybe Someday and Confess. So expect to see me talking about Regretting You in my next blog post about what I've been reading, watching and listening to.

I've obviously got to talk about You Season 2 which I quickly binge-watched within a couple of days after it was released on Boxing Day. I actually think I enjoyed season two more than the first season because the characters had more depth and personality. I don't want to say much more because I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't watched it yet. There's one thing for sure Penn Badgely who plays Joe/Will can really pull off the stalker/psychopath role well, right?

Another TV show that really stood out towards the end of last year was The End of The Fucking World Season 2 which again, I think I actually enjoyed more than the first season. It follows James and Alyssa a couple of years after the events that took place at the end of the first season. Again, I don't really want to go into detail because I don't want to spoil the first season but if you like dark comedy then you'll probably really like TEOTFW and the episodes are only around the 20-minute mark so you can soon get through the two seasons.

I binged watched Season 2 of Sex Education in two days and I bloody loved it! It's just so funny but also really relatable in parts too. I really wish there were more episodes per season! I'm still a bit gutted about the ending of season 2 though, if you've watched it then you'll know what I'm talking about. If you haven't watched Sex Education yet then it follows Otis who is socially awkward and inexperienced in every department when it comes to sex and relationships. However, his mum is a sex therapist meaning Otis has unintentionally picked up some tips and advice along the way. After he gives Adam the school bully some helpful advice, he ends up setting up a sex clinic at school with "bad girl" Maeve to give out advice and make fast money.

I was so excited when I found out that Bombay Bicycle Club were coming back and releasing a new album. I have a lot of memories attached to some of their songs so they're a really special band to me. I loved the first single Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You) from the new album and had it on repeat for weeks so it's safe to say that I've been listening to the album a lot since it was released. My fave songs from it are Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, Is It Real and I Can Hardly Speak, as well as Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You).

I also really like Harry Styles latest album Fine Line which I'm not going to lie, I didn't expect I would be writing in my next "What I've Been Reading, Watching and Listening To Lately" blog post. I've never been a massive follower of One Direction or their solo work but because I heard Lights Up and Adore You on the radio and really liked them, I decided to give the album a listen and I've been listening to it quite a lot since.

Lastly is a song I've been really liking which is Simmer by Hayley Williams from Paramore. I used to be a die-hard from of Paramore back in my emo days so it's kind of weird to be listening to her when I'm almost 26 if you get what I mean. But I really like Simmer and I'm looking forward to hearing more of her solo work.
