What's New In My Wardrobe

-This blog post is a gifted collaboration with Lighthouse Clothing-

I thought I'd talk about some pieces which I've recently added into my wardrobe to last me throughout winter and also into the spring and summer months. I'm not going to lie, I've mainly been living in comfy t-shirts or jumpers and leggings/jeggings lately just because I find it's a good go-to combination when I don't know what else to wear but want to be comfortable and warm throughout the colder season.

First up is the Texas Tuxedo T-shirt from Joanie which I absolutely love! I love how the stripes resemble lined paper and that the "The Texas Tuxedo" writing looks handwritten. I've been wearing it a lot with my mustard coloured chunky knit cardigan and my brown relaxed chunky knit cardigan from Pink Clove* over the past month or so. I also think it looks really nice with the "Ocean Shirt" from Lighthouse Clothing in Washed Denim* especially if I wear it undone for a relaxed, casual look. It's definitely going to be a go-to outfit choice when the weather gets warmer because it's so comfortable and the denim shirt is a perfect added layer for the springtime when the weather can be a bit hit and miss. I'm also planning on wearing the Texas T-shirt under a pinafore dress too in spring/summer.

I also bought the Strange Magic T-shirt from Joanie from the Joanie X Sophia Rosemary collection which just really took my fancy. Again, you can dress it up a little or keep it looking casual. I've mainly been pairing it with a Brown Bobble Cardigan from George at Asda or my oversized cream cardigan from Yours Clothing that I've had for ages and jeggings for a comfy, cosy outfit choice and I think it'll look nice tucked into a denim skirt when the weather gets warmer. But yeah, it's another classic, comfortable crew neck tee from Joanie!

I was in need of a new small-ish bag that would fit my phone, cardholder, earphones and any other essentials in. I did buy a real leather saddle bag with a buckle fastening from Berber Leather towards the end of last year and I do really like it but I just feel like my phone doesn't feel completely safe in it because it doesn't have a zip in the main section. I also tend to carry CBD oil around with me when I'm out and about for my pain and I worry that it's going to fall out and smash too. So I decided to pick up the Tan Camera Bag from Boohoo which I think was about £8 in the sale and it's actually pretty good quality for the price and I just feel like my belongings feel a lot safer now.

I also have two more striped t-shirts in this little clothing haul because I literally have an obsession with stripe t-shirts for some reason. I did have a dabble wearing a lot of polka dots towards the end of last year but I'm back to wearing stripes again now haha. I got two more t-shirts from Lighthouse Clothing and they are the Seashore T-shirt in Midnight Stripe* priced at £9.99 and the Causeway Tee in Navy Multi Stripe* priced at £19.95. I am an awkward size and can vary between three different dress sizes depending on where I shop, so I decided to opt for a size 20 in all of the clothes from Lighthouse Clothing (which is the biggest size they offer) and they do just fit me nicely in a fitted but still comfortable way. Both of the t-shirts are super soft as they're made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex and I decided to go for the blue and white stripe t-shirt (Seashore) because I think the colours suit me and I already have a long sleeve blue and white long sleeve t-shirt that I wear a lot so I thought the short sleeve would be good for spring/summer. I'm also still on the lookout for brown corduroy trucker jacket preferably with a detachable sherpa collar and I think it would go really nicely with the navy and white stripe tee.

Then I decided to choose the Causeway Tee in Navy Multi Stripe* because I realised a lot of the things in my wardrobe are all very similar in colour (it's mostly mustard, navy and khaki) and I don't have a ton of colour going on in my wardrobe right now and obviously, the Causeway tee has a pink neckline, some colourful contrast stripes on the pocket and then the back also has the same colourful contrasting stripes too. I just love this tee so much and it's a nice way to inject some bright colours into my outfit without going OTT. I think it goes really nicely with the Ocean Shirt in Washed Denim* from Lighthouse Clothing too. I also have an oversized cream cardigan that I'm planning on wearing it with aswell when the weather gets a bit warmer. It's definitely a new fave in my wardrobe!

Another piece I bought recently is the Khaki Bobble Front Jumper from Asda George. Its neckline is a little higher to what I'm used to when it comes to jumpers but now I've worn it a couple of times, I've gotten used to it. It's a super simple throw on and go kind of jumper but you could style it up with a statement necklace and maybe even a collared shirt underneath because apparently, big statement collars are back in again. It looks nice with leggings and jeans so it gets a big thumbs up from me and I love that it has ballooned sleeves aswell.

Lastly is the Merino Scarf in Night Sky Grape Stripe* from Lighthouse Clothing which I'm going to be teaming up with my denim jackets or chunky knit cardigans during the spring. You know when the weather is being a bit deceiving and it looks really nice and sunny when you look out of the window but once you leave the house, it's freezing? That's when I'm going to be putting the merino scarf to use because it's really warm and cosy with it being made from 100% merino wool. I also like that the pattern isn't too busy so you can wear it with multiple outfits without it clashing drastically.

  1. Lighthouse Clothing do some absolutely gorgeous pieces, don't they? I got a coat from them last year and it is hands down the best rain mac I've ever had. Also loving that jumper from George and all your Joanie bits. Fab post, Kirsty! Lisa x
