A Mother's Day Gift Guide

In today's post, I'm talking about some lovely gift ideas for Mother's Day which lands on the 14th of March this year. I've got some gift sets to talk about, some gifts that seem to always go down well without fail as well as a few bits and pieces which you could include in a self-care hamper if you're planning on creating one for your mum, grandma or mother figure this year.

First up is the lovely eco-friendly Everything Looks Rosey Gift Set RRP £14* from Neve's Bees which contains their Rosey Hand Salve and Rosey Lip Balm. Neve's Bees produce all of their products in their workshop in West Oxfordshire. Their products are 100% natural as they use natural plant oils, butters, flower infusions and essential oils which are blended with beeswax from their own bees. They're also on a mission to bring back the wildflower meadows and they donate 10% of profits to The Wildlife Trust and give out free packs of wildflower seeds during growing seasons.

Baylis & Harding who are cruelty-free and vegan friendly literally sent over a big box of products and giftsets recently including some Mother's Day gifts and some New In products. So I'm going to talk about the gifts in this post and then I shall be talking about the other products at a later date both on my blog and instagram.

The Royale Garden Verbena and Chamomile Ultimate Manicure Gift Set RRP £5.99* which is available from Amazon includes Hand Soak Crystals, Hand and Nail Cream and a pretty nail file. I think it would make a little great gift this Mother's Day, especially right now when I think most of us are suffering with drier hands than usual from washing our hands a lot more than usual. Another gift set from the Royale Garden range is the Verbena and Chamomile Toiletry Bag Gift Set RRP £18* which is also available from Amazon includes a travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, shower creme and body lotion. I personally think the bag alone is worth £18 as it's really pretty and you can just tell it's good quality. It definitely gets a thumbs up from me!

The Royale Garden Rose, Poppy and Vanilla Luxury Wrapped Soap Set RRP £6* packaging looks elegant and as I've said before, I really like Baylis & Harding bar soap as I find it doesn't leave your skin feeling dried out like a lot of soap bars can do.

They also sent me a few gifts from their Jojoba, Vanilla and Almond Oil range including the Heart Fizzer Gift Set RRP £8* which contains 3 bath ball fizzers in chocolate box packaging which I think is so sweet. There's also a Hand Wash and Hand and Body Lotion Set RRP £8* which again is a thoughtful gift that is also useful and they also sent over the Luxury Bath Bubbles Gift RRP £8* which is in a lovely presented bottle bag with a handle and perfect for any mums who deserve a long soak in the bath along with a big glass of wine. All of which are available from Amazon.

Inner Jewels Silk Eye Pillow with Precious Stone Filling RRP £19.50* from Yoga Bliss is filled with organic flaxseed and semi-precious stones with a removable pure silk cover. With the eye mask containing flaxseed and semi-precious stones, it adapts to the contours of the face and the silk fabric has a soothing, cooling touch. The gentle pressure of the cushion can relieve you from stress and anxiety, block light out and help you to relax before you sleep. If you're a back sleeper then you'll be able to wear this whilst you sleep as well, however, I'm a side sleeper so it'd just fall off. But I have tried this for myself and I definitely feel like the gentle pressure helps to relax me either before I sleep or during the day and it's also helped with a bad headache recently that was almost turning into a migraine as well. You can choose from four colours/fillings - "Love" with Rose Quartz, "Meditation" with Amethyst, "Harmony" with Sodalite and "Joy" with Aventurine. I chose Amethyst because I've always been drawn to Amethyst and it is one of my favourite crystals as it has a balancing and calming effect.

If you or your mum are a sucker for fragrances then Notebook Fragrances are an affordable brand that offers EDT spray's For Her and For Him as well as For Her/For Him. I talked about the Citrus & Green Tea EDT For Her/For Him a number of times last year on my blog and instagram and I actually repurchased it recently. The Peony & White Musk EDP Spray RRP £14.95* is a perfect pick for mother's day as contains the vibrant and romantic passion of corollas and fruity scents and supported by the warmth of musk and wood as well as blossoming roses, peonies, jasmines, geraniums and cyclamens with an added touch of spiciness. Each EDT bottle comes in a lovely presented "notebook" box as well which I love as it's just a bit different compared to other affordable fragrances.

I think pyjamas and slippers always work well as gifts, especially for your mum. I recently discovered how nice TU at Sainsbury's pyjamas are which I talked more about in this blog post. However, I usually tend to buy pyjamas and slippers for both myself and as gifts from either George at Asda, Nutmeg at Morrisons, New Look or ASOS.

If you're thinking of creating a little self-care hamper for your mum this Mother's Day then I have some ideas of things you could include below:

The SOS H20 Day Serum RRP £15* is oil-free and for sensitive skin types which provides rapid relief from the itch of eczema and other dry skin conditions and also calms problematic skin. Wasabi & Burdock Extracts provide the soothing effect and Peppermint Extract provides the cooling sensation to deliver comforting moisturisation and protection. You can use SOS Serum to reduce itching caused by eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, support the withdrawal of steroid creams, treat and soothe bites, plant and insect stings and minor burns, soothe and hydrate sun-damaged skin, manage allergic flare-ups and provide extra moisture for elbows and knees. It's a must-have in everyone's skincare cupboard!

I think candles are always a good gift if your recipient likes and/or can use candles. Depending on your budget you could opt for a candle from Jo Malone or Yankee Candle which I would say are on the pricier end of the scale for a candle in my opinion. I've also been eyeing up Kindred Fires on instagram recently who offer personalised soy wax candles which are hand-poured in Manchester. They look so nice and give off the ultimate cosy vibes and there's a lot of options to choose from as well. I'm definitely going to have to pick one up for myself soon. Their prices start from £16 and they offer free tracked delivery on all UK orders. If you're on more of a tighter budget then I would also recommend the Wickford & Co candles which you can pick from Home Bargains and there's usually a decent amount of scents to choose from (depending on the size of your local Home Bargains).

Nivea are a great brand if you're looking for some skincare, bath and body care to add into your Mother's Day hamper without breaking the bank. Both me and my mum have been big fans of Nivea for years, In this post, I even talked about how the classic Nivea scent reminds me of my nan who sadly passed away when I was 6, so I almost find the scent quite comforting.

Nivea's Bath Creams* always leave your skin feeling super soft, their hand creams such as the Smooth Hands & Nail Care* which is for dry skin and cuticles and are also fab and smell lovely and clean.

They've also recently launched their CELLULAR FILLER Elasticity Reshape range which includes the Anti-Age Day Cream*Anti-Age Night Cream* and the Sculpting Cryo-Sheet Mask*. All of which contain Hyaluron, Collagen Booster and Elastin Booster in the formula to help activate the skin cells to produce their own hyaluron, collagen and elastin whilst also improving cell strength by boosting their vital functions.

I'm also a big fan of their Oil in Lotion's such as the Cherry Blossom & Jojoba Oil Oil in Lotion* for normal to dry skin and also the Rose & Argan Oil Oil in Lotion, they're super hydrating but dry down fairly quickly and leave your skin smelling lovely.

The Rubis Classic Collection Tweezers RRP £25.85* on Amazon are the real deal when it comes to tweezers. According to makeup artist Bobby Brown, they are the best tweezers for professional and home use. They are rust and corrosion resistant, feature a non-slip grid head with slanted tips and are ergonomically designed for lightweight versatility. Every pair of Rubis tweezers are manufactured in Switzerland and even individually examined to make sure they meet the highest quality standards.

Hand Sanitiser is obviously a must in everyone's day to day life now (and it should've been before COVID came along as well to be fair) so popping a bottle of hand sanitiser in your mum's self-care hamper makes sense. I decided to pick up the Neal's Yard Remedies Natural Defense Hand Sanitiser RRP £5.75 for my mum which I'd describe as a more luxury hand sanitiser if you like because of the price and ingredients (my mum tends to just buy Carex or similar priced hand gels). However, the Neal's Yard Remedies Natural Defense Hand Sanitiser does smell really nice and contains a blend of purifying essential oils.

My mum isn't a massive chocolate eater but she does sometimes get cravings for chocolate here and there and she's a big fan of Ferrero Rocher so if I do decide to buy her chocolate then I usually just go for Ferrero Rocher or something similar. So maybe including your mum's fave chocolate or sweets in the hamper is a good idea.
