My Go-To Minimal Makeup Picks This Spring/Summer

I'll be honest I definitely have more no-makeup days than days when I actually wear makeup but when I do wear makeup, I've been opting for minimal makeup. I've realised it's definitely more me, I've even got rid of most of my high coverage foundations and concealers recently because I'm just like "what's the point in keeping them?". I've been using some old favourites as well as a few newer releases in my minimal makeup routine recently. So I thought I'd talk about what are my go-to makeup products for this spring/summer.

I'm still loving the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream because it adds a nice amount of coverage and leaves your skin looking dewy but not in an oily-looking way, it's also really hydrating so I think it would cater for most skin types. I'm also really liking the Typology Tinted Serum* which I reviewed here. It just evens out your complexion nicely and with a touch of concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes it's a nice no-makeup makeup kind of base.

I always apply a little bit of Translucent Powder to my t-zone just to keep it under control. If I want slightly more coverage all over I'll use a tiny amount of bareMinerals Original Powder Foundation which also works as a setting powder for me.

I've recently switched back to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and I find that it works for me again now. It used to oxidise quite badly on my skin which wasn't great but I just wanted something cheap and cheerful so I decided to pick it up and I really like it again now. I still also love the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer if my dark circles are quite prominent and a little really does go a long way with Bye Bye Under Eye as well.

For brows, I've been using the It Cosmetics Brow Power Filler* in Blonde but I could do with getting it in a darker shade as I can only just about get away with it. But it does really define and set your brows into place. I also really like the little brush because it makes it so much easier to kind of manipulate your brows into shape. I still really like my Glossier Boy Brow as well so I kind of go between the two and sometimes I like to use the It Cosmetics Brow Power Perfector as well either on its own or with one of the pomades over the top.

I’m kind of just using any mascara in my makeup bag at the moment as I’m just trying to use them all up. However for a minimal, simple eye look I really like the Glossier Lash Slick because it lengthens lashes nicely and doesn’t makeup your lashes lol lumpy together ever. It’s actually a great brush to get clumps out.

Another Glossier product I’m still using and have repurchased multiple times is the Cloud Paint in Puff and/or Dusk. It looks scary when you first squeeze it out but it’s not as pigmented as it looks once you tap it into your skin. I also really like the Benefit GALifornia Blush, it is a quite bold pink shade but I’m just very careful with how much I apply. I’m also a big fan of the GALifornia packaging.

Lastly is the lips and I’ve been really enjoying using the Burt's Bees 100% Natural Origin Squeezy Tinted Lip Balms* particularly in the shades Berry Sorbet and Sweet Peach. However there are 4 shades to choose from altogether. They’re hydrating, glossy and not sticky which is exactly what I’m looking for in a minimal makeup look.

  1. The BareMinerals Complexion Rescue is my go-to through the Spring and Summer time, like you say it's hydrating and also isn't heavy which is so good for the hot weather! xx
