8 Things I Love About Autumn

I'm not going to lie, I'm really struggling with motivation at the moment. I don't know if it's the weather/season change or if I'm just going through a low motivation spell but I thought I'd talk about why I like Autumn so much to kind of put me in a better mindset and try and get my creative juices flowing again if you like.

So one of the main reasons why I love Autumn is definitely the fact that it's cooler, I like the crisp air in the morning and late at night. I hate the Summer because I really don't like feeling hot and the fact it's so hard to sleep in the summer as well. I've never liked the hot weather but since I've become unwell with my chronic pain, I hate it even more because it really plays on my pain and makes me more prone to flaring up.

I also love Autumn fashion, as soon as the weather took a turn and got colder basically overnight, I got all of my fave cosy chunky-knit cardigans and jumpers out and was like I AM READY. It's also a good time to have a little destash and get rid of summer clothes that you don't want to wear next year because what's the point of storing clothes away for another year if you aren't even going to wear them again.

I love making the house feel and look super cosy, from Autumnal looking bedding (I picked up my latest bedding from Asda), new candles, soft warm lighting/string lights, cosy blankets and more. I honestly could spend a fortune on cosy homeware.

I also tend to switch out my more vibrant and pastel gel nail polishes and opt for more neutral and deeper shades to suit the season. I don't know why but I just do. I mostly use Red Carpet Manicure's gel polishes and LED kit (review here) just because they work really well and I find their polishes are easy to apply and last well on the nails too. They kindly sent over some gel polishes* and nail art accessories* recently which are super autumnal so I'm going to be giving them a try soon (once my natural nails grow a bit longer!). I've literally been waiting for Autumn to arrive before using them haha.

I love having bubble baths when the weather gets colder and I'm a big fan of autumnal/wintery scents too. My favourite scent right now has got to be Warm Vanilla from The Body Shop's Christmas range. I've only got the Body Yogurt at the moment but I'm going to pick up one of the gift sets for myself I think so I have a few different products from the range because I'm honestly obsessed. I'm also loving Molton Brown's Suede Orris Bath and Shower Gel too which was a little treat purchase for myself not long ago. Molton Brown are quite expensive but 100% worth it because the scent sticks around on your skin like perfume.

Another reason why I love Autumn is that I like seeing Halloween and Christmas things becoming available both online and in-store. I'm not too fussed about Halloween, it's okay but I'm definitely more into Christmas and buying gifts for everyone and just getting in the festive spirit. I've already noted down some gift ideas and I'm planning on starting to buy some gifts this month.

I also really like planning my blog content for the Autumn and Winter months too and I like making some of my photos look cosier by using blankets, soft lights, candles etc. I'm also on the lookout for some more trinket dishes and things like that so if anyone knows of anywhere I can pick up some cute autumn/winter blog props let me know.

Lastly is just enjoying cosy evenings watching films or new TV shows because there's always some good TV shows on around this time of the year.

What's your favourite season and what do you love most about it?
