8 Things I've Been Loving Recently

I thought I’d do a favourites round-up kind of post as I haven’t done one in a long time. I’ve tried to include a mixture of things from home/lifestyle, fashion and beauty as I know my blog is quite beauty-heavy again at the moment but it’s because I’m still playing catch up on my beauty reviews. I do have plans for more of a variety of content which should be coming soon which I'm really looking forward to getting started on.

I bought the Gift Republic ‘You Got This’ Affirmation Cards a while ago and I found them again recently after misplacing them and I’ve got to say, when I’m having a crappy day with my mental health, I find these so helpful. I tend to pick 3 cards at random and it’s weird but the motivational and empowering messages can really boost my mood and reset my mind and my general thoughts. I bought mine from ASOS ages ago but they now sell them on Amazon for just £4.99.

Whilst decluttering my wardrobe, I rediscovered my You Are The Cosmos T-shirt from George at Asda and I forgot how much I like it. It reminds me of some of the T-shirts I have from Joanie Clothing but I’m pretty sure it was only about £8-£9. I think George at Asda have really stepped up their game over the past year or so with their clothing. (P.S Please ignore the cat hair on the t-shirt, it's the only issue with dark coloured clothing... it sticks out like a sore thumb even after lint rollering lol).

As I said in my Spring Wishlist post, I’ve had my eyes on the Nintendo Switch OLED for a little while and I finally caved and bought one recently and there’s such a difference between the original and OLED. The colours look more vibrant and pop more, the battery lasts longer, the sound is better and more, It’s actually better than I was expecting and I definitely feel if you’re more of a handheld player like myself and thinking of upgrading then I would 100% recommend it.

I’ve also been painting my nails more recently as part of my self-care routine and I picked up a few new shades from Barry M because they were only like £4 each. My favourite at the moment is definitely their Gelly Nail Polish in Honeysuckle, it’s such a pretty, effortless-looking nail polish shade to wear and it's perfect for the Spring season.

I also bought a Mattress Topper for my bed from Amazon and it’s been a game-changer. My mattress is quite hard which I personally like as I find it’s better for my posture and chronic pain, however, I just felt like it needed some softness especially whilst dealing with new health issues and having to rest in bed more than usual. The mattress topper I bought was just under £35 and it’s definitely thicker than the ones that are sold in places such as Argos for more money, so if you’re thinking about buying one for your bed then I would recommend this one in the Extra Deep option.

I’ve finally got around to trying some products from Fenty Skin and I totally get the hype about Fenty now. I picked up a mini gift set in the Boots sale for only £8 which included the Total Cleans’r and the Fat Water Pore Refining Toner Serum and I’m literally obsessed with both.

The Total Cleans'r smells lovely, kind of like sweet cherries but it’s not an overpowering scent at all. A little goes a long way with the cleaner as well as it emulsifies with water and is easy to work with. It’s a nice morning cleanser and it’s also good at removing makeup but I like to use it as my second cleanse usually.

The Fat Water Toner Serum is so good, I feel like it’s helped to even out my skin tone a bit and I love that you just pop a couple of drops into your hands and apply. I feel like it’s helped to reduce the size of my pores really well, particularly around my nose and my cheeks. It’s definitely a new staple in my skincare line up and I can’t wait to try some more products from the Fenty skincare range.

Lastly is another skincare product which is the Dermalogica Awaken Peptide Eye Gel* which I reviewed in this blog post. It’s really good at reducing puffiness, it’s lightweight and doesn’t pill under concealer and I also like to use it alongside their Ultimate Eye Wand* when my eyes are looking super puffy and/or I have quite bad dark under-eye circles.
