I can't believe February is over! I will admit, I've had a pretty uneventful month and I'm looking forward to Spring. I did go a little crazy on my January Favourites so I've tried to keep this favourites list as short as possible.

Superdrug Style Expertise Salt Spray
So since having my hair cut into a kind of long lob (if that makes sense? lol) I've been wearing my hair with natural looking curls/waves but because I wanted my curls/waves to have some texture I decided to try this salt spray and I love it. It smells nice and a little goes a long way. It was only £2.99 too.

Schwarzkopf Got2b Playful Primer
I don't usually use a primer on my hair, I usually use a heat protection spray and then styling sprays but since having my hair cut, I've changed up how I wear my hair. So now I tend to wear it wavy/curly and instead of using my heat protection sprays (which are usually for making your hair straight/sleek) I've decided to opt for a primer and then using the salt spray to style afterwards which I mentioned above. I love this Got2b primer, it smells like coconuts and it makes my hair feel smooth but heat protected. Plus it's in a cute little bottle.

So I started watching this because I kept seeing people tweeting about how good it was on my twitter timeline. I totally get why people say "If you like Gossip Girl then you'll like Riverdale". It's not exactly the same but its got the bitchiness, secrets and mysteries, like Gossip Girl. It's available to watch on Netflix and a new episode is added every Friday.

My Mad Fat Diary

I know I'm a few years behind but My Mad Fat Diary has been something I've been meaning to watch for ages and this month I've finally got around to watching it. If you haven't watched it then it's set in the late 1990's and is focused on a music obsessed girl named Rae who has just been released from a psychiatric hospital after having a breakdown. She bumps into a old friend named Chloe who thinks she's been away in France and whilst Rae has been away "in France" Chloe made new friends and tries to get Rae in with the new gang. It's so funny! If you liked Skins then you'd definitely like this. The box set is on all4 if you feel like giving this a watch!

Garnier Skin Active Pure Active Sensitive Clarifying Tonic
I thought I'd try this for when my skin is oily/dry (like I've said before my skin type changes often). I've been using it twice a day, after I've cleansed my face and it takes off any remaining residue from the cleanser and it smooths my skin and tones it. It's not like toning water, it's more of a gel and It smells so nice! Definitely recommend it.

Beauty Atelier #Perfectionist Blender Sponge*
I'm usually a die-hard fan of the Real Techniques sponges but since I tried this #Perfectionist sponge, I haven't used any of my Real Techniques sponges. This doesn't waste any product (like the RT ones do a little) and it applies make up and gives me a dewy, natural look. You can read my more detailed review about the make up sponge here

LUSH Charity Pot
I love this moisturiser. I did receive this pot for Christmas but I have bought it beforehand and I'd run out. It's smells lovely and it also dries quite fast which I like. Obviously the money goes to Charity too which is always a good thing! It's £3.50 for 45g / £13.50 for 240g (or you can buy a trial tin for just £1)

Fab Little Bag*
I was sent these fab little bags to try out. They are a discreet, stress-free bag to use when it's that time of the month. You can pop your used tampon/pad into the bag when you're out and about or are having one of those situations when you've gone into a bathroom with an overflowing bin or no bin at all! Another reason why I love these is because they aren't too noisy to use, they can be opened with one hand, because of the loops and they have a peel off sticky strip to secure the bag and they are also environmentally friendly. I just think they are a great thing to have in your bag during the time of the month just to avoid any disposable problems you may run into.

You can pick them up in store at Waitrose or Whole Foods or online on Amazon or Ocado. They range between £1.99 and £3.50 depending which pack you buy. They offer a bathroom pack or a handbag pack.

*products were sent to me to try out and review, all opinions are my own

Today's post is all about the new and upcoming Beauty Atelier Shop! They very kindly sent me all the products in this post, to try out and share my thoughts on. In this post, I'm going to tell you who Beauty Atelier Shop are and also what I received, the concept of each product and also the price.

So... who are Beauty Atelier Shop? What do they sell?

Beauty Atelier Shop is a website which sells handmade high-quality makeup tools -  Including makeup sponges, makeup brushes and a very cute heart shaped brush cleaner. They also sell lots of styles of luxurious false eyelashes. Their products are supplied by 88 Infinite Cosmetics and everything they sell is cruelty-free. They've also just started stocking Zoeva Brush Sets too.

What I received in the package which Beauty Atelier Shop sent to me...

#Romantic (top left), #Precious (top right), #Sexy (bottom left), #Glamourous (bottom right)
Handmade Silk Eyelashes -
I love the look of these eyelashes, I can't wait to try them out! The packaging is very pretty and eye catching (as I've said before, I'm a complete sucker for packaging!) and I love how everything has been named as a hashtag -

#Romantic -  Lovely to add a little flutter and sweetness to your everyday makeup look
#Precious - Would look lovely for a minimal or natural makeup look
#Sexy - A perfect pair of lashes to pop on for a date night!
#Glamorous - If you like your full of volume, dramatic eyelashes, then these are for you!

They are £15 per pair and they should be able to be worn up to 20 times if gently washed and looked after.

#Lightly, #Softly and #Kinky
Handmade Mink Eyelashes -
Again, I love the packaging of these eyelashes! They are in a little plastic case to keep them neat and looking pretty. You can easily pull them out and put them away with no hassle. Also, these are described as lightweight and very comfortable.

#Lightly - Great for adding a little something more to an everyday look
#Softly - To give you more
volumized, full looking eyelashes
#Kinky - High-density eyelashes for a dramatic look

The Mink Eyelashes are £19 per pair and should be able to be worn up to 20 times if they are gently washed and looked after. Love the look of the #Lightly eyelashes! (top left)

#Perfectionist Make Up Sponge
A good sized, teardrop shaped makeup sponge. Which is handmade and latex free. It's made from 100% vegetable fibre -  it's designed to not absorb and waste any of your makeup product. Yay! The #Perfectionist is £12.

#Heartist Brush Cleaner
A very cute, silicone makeup brush cleaner. Just to make cleaning brushes more bearable and less a chore. We all know what I'm talking about here, right? It's also a good sized one, which will clean all of your brushes from eyeshadow brushes to powder brushes, but it will still fit inside your travel bag perfectly too! It is only £8.

The #Heartist Brush Cleaner and The #Perfectionist Make Up Sponge both are packaged so nicely -  including ribbon, sequins and a little thank you message on each, which is such a sweet little added touch. Would be great for gifting to friends or family who love handmade products and also love their makeup and makeup tools too.

all opinions are my own

I've had anxiety for most of my life. It ranges from being just about bearable to insanely bad and ruling my life. So I thought I'd share some of my tips and ways that I try and calm myself when I'm suffering with my anxiety.

Have some Me Time
When my anxiety is at it's worst, I tend to find being around people really overwhelming and I can get quite irritable too. I just kind of want to shut myself away and just do my own thing. So that's what I do. I love to just either have a bubble bath and put on some happy songs to try and make me feel better or I'll snuggle up in a blanket and just read for a few hours.

Spend time with family or friends
In contrast to having Me Time, when my anxiety is there but it's not at it's worst I find spending with family and friends helps too. I think it's because they are my loved ones so I feel safe and happy when I'm around them.

Put my attention elsewhere
I always tend to watch a film, read a book or watch a TV show. Also since starting my blog I tend to write blog posts too when I'm overthinking. Just putting my attention elsewhere, takes my mind off off all my worries.

Let it all out
There's nothing better than having a good old rant to a friend or family member, right? I do this way too often lol. Also writing down all your feelings and thoughts and then ripping up the paper and throwing it away is another good technique.

Do breathing exercises
I tend to inhale through my nose, hold my breath for 5-7 seconds and then slowly exhale through my mouth and repeat until I feel more relaxed. There's loads of breathing techniques you can find on google and you can find which suit you best.

I know this might be one that you're thinking ew no. But even doing light exercise for 10 minutes makes me feel better. I'll admit I don't use this one all the time when my anxiety is running wild because it's the last thing I want to do. But if I feel like it, then I will. Or another form of exercising which helps is walking. Don't worry, I'm not talking about a trek up a mountain. Even just walking around a shop or two (and treating yourself to something new) helps too!

Listen to music
I like making little playlists on Spotify or on my phone for different moods. So I tend to listen to happy/catchy kind of songs when I'm feeling like crap just to try and make me feel better.

Whether it is a normal cup tea (sweet and strong for me!) or a herbal cup of tea. I always find tea is the answer when I get an anxiety attack. I love the Pukka Tea range and the Clippers Snore and Peace tea!

So there's some of the things I do to ease my anxiety.
Hope this post helps and leave a comment if you have any tips to share!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

It's a few days after Christmas now and I'm still feeling like an beached whale (but that just proves that I've had a good Christmas, right?) I'm having an pyjama day, catching up on tv and watching films all day. It's my first Christmas whilst I've been blogging so I thought I'd do one of these posts. I know some people don't like these because they think the blogger whose writing them are just bragging about what they got. So I'm saying it now, I'm not bragging at all! I like reading these and watching them on Youtube. I love seeing what people have got and it gives me ideas on what to spend any Christmas money on too lol! I ran a poll on Twitter a few days ago because I was indecisive about doing this post and the majority vote was that I should sod the haters and do it, so here it is!

I'm still in shock at the amount of presents I received this year. I literally love all of them, so trying to choose my favourites to feature in this was pretty hard to do. But here they are!

I got a really lovely, oversized aztec print wrap over which is from Matalan from my parents, a blue snake print bag from one of my aunties (as well as some bath goodies too) and both of them together look so nice! I also got some Yankee Candle wax melts, AVON Cherish Perfume, a Baileys tin which contains a mini Baileys bottle and a chocolate, LUSH bath bombs and the It's Raining Men Shower Gel and I picked up the Bath and Body Works dupe candle from B&M which is an Marshmallow Fireside scent which I bought with some of my Christmas money on Boxing Day.

I love my K personalised jewellery dish I got, (if you saw my Christmas Wish List earlier this month, it was on there) I also got an LUSH Blooming Beautiful Gift Set from my auntie and uncle/godparents which contains Rose Jam Bubbleroom and an Honey Bee bath bomb which I'm looking forward to trying, Other presents which I got from my parents were the Soap and Glory Eyes Box which contains Supercat Eyeliner, Archery Brow Tint and Pencil,Sexy Kohl Eyeliner and Thick and Fast Collagen Mascara, LUSH Charity Pot Moisturiser and the Real Techniques Core Collection brush set.

I also got the Bedhead Styleshots Epic Volume Conditioner (which is definitely one of my fave conditioners!) and an Soap and Glory conditioner which I'm looking forward to trying, it smells so fresh and fruity! and I received Dirty Dancing on DVD from one of my auntie's because it's one of my favourite films and I was literally saying to her the other week that It's one of my faves and I didn't actually have the DVD, well now I have. She also gave me some money too (which I may or may not have already spent in the sales)

I also got the Soap and Glory Soaper Heroes gift set, Jingle Gel Rock from The Body Shop (I bought myself one of these last week. oops! but now I'm all stocked up) Some H&M goodies: Raspberry Leaf Face Mask and Winter Fig Body Mist, Primark candles and a super soft purple blanket which I know my cats will probably claim once it's on my bed. Plus I got an 500g bottle of Rose Jam yay!

So there's my favourite presents I received this Christmas. I shall be reviewing some products I got sometime soon too. I'm literally stocked up on Soap and Glory and LUSH products for the unforeseeable future lol! Also I've bought some things in the sales with my Christmas money so I'm going to be posting an What I got in the Christmas/Boxing Day Sales post once everything has arrived!

Did everyone have a good Christmas? Can't believe it's all over for another year. *sad emoji face* (Btw if you've done an What I Got For Christmas post too then link me!)

Today I thought I'd share my favourite things about Christmas. There's probably 20 more things I could write about easily but I thought I'd keep it (kind of) short and sweet. So here they are:
  • Getting the dusty old boxes full of Christmas decorations from the loft and realising how many pretty decorations we've got and finding some new ones from the Christmas sales last year too!
  • Deciding on what to buy who and browsing online and window shopping for hours. (Plus the 3 for 2 offers always mean treats to me with the cheapest item for free lol)
  • Lush Christmas Range, because who doesn't want to smell like candy floss?
  • Wrapping the presents and making them instagram worthy. We all do it, right?
  • Not feeling a tad bit guilty about the amount of chocolate I've consumed over the festive period
  • Taking presents to family who I haven't seen for ages and having a catch up
  • My annual tradition: Having a LUSH bath on Christmas Eve before getting into my new, cute Christmas pyjamas that I've either bought for myself or received as an early Christmas present
  • Getting in bed on Christmas Eve and feeling like an excited child
  • When I'm opening Christmas presents which are from my mum and dad and seeing my dad look as surprised/clueless about whats inside as me, whilst I'm opening most of the presents haha!
  • After opening the Christmas presents, watching my cats look at the wrapping paper on the floor like "wtf happened here? What did I miss?" and then beginning to investigate the situation...
  • Looking through the TV guide and trying to decide which of your favourite childhood Christmas films to watch on Christmas Day (even though I've got most of them on dvd)
  • Helping my mum in the kitchen when making Christmas Dinner (which resemble Christmas music on the radio, mum singing and me on peeling the veg duties)
  • The nap after eating Christmas dinner seems like the best nap I've had all year

So there's some of my favourite things about this wonderful time of the year.
What are your favourite things about the festive period?

Hope you're enjoying my daily posts this week so far!

(Also if you're wondering why we haven't got lights on our Christmas tree. It's because of one of our cats, climbs in the tree and last year he literally almost hung himself. He had the lights wrapped around his neck and if we'd been out of the house, he wouldn't still be here right now. So we've got lights up elsewhere in the living room. Since last Christmas he has put on some weight, so he isn't going in the tree as much this year but we don't want to risk it still. Hopefully next year he won't bother at all lol)

The highlighter I'm talking about is the Collection Speedy Highlighter. I personally love this highlighter. I know some people say it's glittery and over the top but I don't think it's glittery at all. It's enough to give you a healthy looking glow and for someone who didn't wear highlighter at all until the beginning of this year and now wears it pretty much all the time when wearing make up, it definitely says something. This is my go to highlighter. Personally I'd say this is better than some high end highlighters I own. I'm looking at you Benefit High Beam...

I think Collection only do this highlighter in one shade which is Pearl Sheen. It's basically a champagne colour and compliments my pale skin very well. When you look at the colour of the stick it does look slightly pink but that pink doesn't show once you've applied it. I've worn this alone, under foundation and over foundation and it's work fine every way as stated on the product. Another reason why I love this highlighter is because of it's bargain price at £3.99! and you actually get a good amount of product for the price which let's face it... you don't always find with the stick products with the twist up packaging.

I already know that this will be in my 2016 Beauty Faves post that I'll be writing and posting next week. Spoiler Alert lol.

So there's my fave go to highlighter at the minute.
What's your go to highlighter right now?

We all love to get our hands on some bargains in the Boxing Day sales and the January sales. But let's face it, most of us go a little crazy and just buy some things because they're on sale and usually they just end up either hanging in your wardrobe with the tags still on, in their unopened box or in the bathroom, all waiting to be used. So if you read my Preparing For Black Friday post, then I'm pretty much going to follow that post this Christmas. But I've got some other ideas on how to not overspend and also some tips on how to get things even cheaper when their already in the sale.

Plan Ahead
What I mean by this is just write down the things you're most wanting to get in the sales and if you're hitting the high streets on Boxing Day then just go to the things you want most and see if they've been added into the sale. Don't go wandering around the shop, make a beeline to the things you want, go to the checkout and then leave. Don't give into temptation just because it's cheaper. If you're more of stay at home, in your festive pyjamas, browsing through all the websites at what's in the sales kinda person (like me!), then instead of clicking on the "Sale" page, search each thing you're wanting to get cheaper. Then you won't get tempted by all the other things.

Another tip following on from the Plan Ahead tip above is to bookmark things you're most wanting to get at a cheaper price and then when it's sale time, just got to your "Boxing Day Sale" Bookmark and go through all of your bookmarked pages and see what's been reduced! (This was really helpful on Black Friday)

Promotion Codes

Some websites let you apply an promotion code, even when there's an sale going on. I've found this works on Lookfantastic and The Body Shop mostly. Also googling promotion codes for any website is always a good idea in general.

Put Spare Money Aside

So obviously if you're planning on buying things in the sales then you've more than likely saved some money from your last pay day before Christmas. But another good idea is to put an extra little bit of money aside for the sales and don't count it as your sale limit (basically trick yourself lol) because then if you find something you'd like to buy but have spent most or all of your sale money, then you're not dipping into the rest of your money that's got to last you until your next pay day.

Current Sale Items May Go Cheaper
Anything in the sales right now before Christmas will probably go even cheaper either on Christmas Day or on Boxing Day. But... you do have to risk the fact that whatever you're looking at, may go out of stock in the meantime. But sometimes it's worth the risk!

So there's my tips for Boxing Day, which I can't believe is a week away! Who's going to be hitting the high streets and who is going to be staying home, like me on Boxing Day and hopefully getting some bargains online?

(PS: please excuse the terrible photo for this post lol)

So every year in the middle of November, my mum alerts me that it's 6 weeks until Christmas and asks me to write down a Christmas list. I may be 22 years old, but being told to write down a Christmas list is basically the same feeling you got when you was a child, when your parents handed you an Argos catalogue and told you told circle things you want for your Birthday or Christmas, right?

This year I've gotten back into make up and changing up how I wear it, I've also been loving cute home ware things because of redecorating my room earlier in the year and obviously LUSH. So I turned into my excitable 6 year old self again and then started to browse online and window shop at things I'd really like. So here's some of my Christmas wish list this year.

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb | Dream Cream Body Lotion | Silky Underwear Dusting Powder | Butterbear Bath Bomb | It's Raining Men Shower Gel | Northern Lights Bath Bomb

I Heart Makeup Eyeshadow Palette I Heart Chocolate Vice |The Body Shop Jingle Gel Rock Gift Set | Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie Wax MeltTIGI Bed Head Styleshots Epic Volume Conditioner

Matalan Alphabet Jewellery Dish (obviously with an K not an A lol) | AVON Dreams Eau de Parfum | Dressing Gown

So there's the things I want most from my Christmas Wish List this year. I have got a few other things on my list but they're just kind of boring and just are my fave Primark candles, a 2017 diary etc. What's on your Christmas Wish List this year?

* Also since writing this post, I treated myself to the The Body Shop Jingle Gel Rock gift set because there was an 40% off and free delivery promotion if you spend over £5 and Free Shea Body Butter if you spend over £10. So obviously just had to make an little order...

October Favourites

in , , , , by Kirsty Milward, 8.11.16

Considering it's just a little over 2 weeks since I posted "Favourite Things I've Bought Over The Past Month" which was basically a late September favourites with some added things I'd been using at the beginning of October. I thought this would be really hard to write. But these are things I've discovered or rediscovered in the last 2 weeks of October. So I'm quite shocked/impressed that I've managed to gather 12 favourites in two weeks. This may even be the longest monthly favourites post I've done?! So here goes...

Soap and Glory Hand Food
This has been my go to hand moisturiser for the past year or so. It smells lovely, it dries fast and keeps my hands feeling lovely and soft and the scent is the Original Pink scent too. I literally haven't got a bad thing to say about it. There's always one in my bag. I tend to buy the smaller travel size one and they're only £2.50.

Make Up Gallery Well Polished Cuticle Oil (Pound shop brand)
This stuff is so good considering it was only £1 from the pound shop. I always get dry, brittle cuticles and when it gets to this time of the year it gets worse but this sorts it out and makes them much softer. I use to buy Lemony Fluttery from Lush but the result is almost the same for a fraction of the price.

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry and Vanilla Hair Spray
I'm usually a Tresemme hair spray kinda girl but I bought this when I happened to see it on offer on ASOS a month or two ago and thought I'd give it a go. I think it was either £3 or £4. It's a very summery kind of scent to me and it lingers for hours after application. It holds my hair in place really well and I don't use as much as I used to when I was using my go to Tresemme hair sprays.

Dream Cream Moisturiser
I got this in my boxing day haul last year. I didn't really have the intention to buy the Home For Christmas gift set but if you don't know what Lush's website is like on boxing day... it's a nightmare.  It crashes every 2 seconds and you end up just clicking on anything, checking out and hoping for the best that the transaction has gone through. So that's how I wound up with this amazing moisturiser. It's similar to the Twilight scent. It helps when my psoriasis sometimes flares up on my elbows which I seem to get more this time of the year and also the scent is so calming and helps me to get to sleep.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter
I feel like I should've just called this post "Kirsty's current favourite moisturisers" lol. This is the same scent as the Hand Food (Shea Butter and Marshmallow) but the consistency is a lot thicker because of it being a body butter. Basically it's just a bloody brilliant moisturiser which smells amazing and dries really fast. Cannot fault it.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in shade Iridescent Gold
I've only just started wearing highlighter over the past year. Just because I used to have really oily skin. But since trying and testing new products out, my skin has now changed to a combination  of oily and dry. So I feel more confident to wear highlighter. This product can make you look as if you're trying to look like a Golden Christmas bauble if you're a little heavy handed with your brush, I'm not going to lie. But since watching an NikkieTutorials video about applying contour and highlighter, I've started to wear a little under my blusher instead of it kind of sitting on top of my blush and looking out of place. It blends them together and gives off a nice glowy look. I also apply it under my eyebrows, tip of my nose and on my cupids bow. For for £3 at Superdrug this is a bargain. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a budget highlighter.

I forgot to take a picture of this, oops!

Clippers Snore and Peace Teabags (20 per box)
I love drinking tea that helps to promote sleep because I am a really bad sleeper. I can sometimes be still up at 4am, clock watching. It's something I've dealt with for literally years. I have a really bad habit of overthinking anything and everything at night. But I always tend to try out different "sleep teas" and see if they help. I don't know if it's the placebo effect or they actually help though. The usual sleep/calming teas contain Chamomile and Lavender etc but let's fact it, they smell nice but they don't always taste nice. But this one contains the usual Chamomile and Lavender but has Lemongrass, Lemon Balm and Spearmint too. The mint isn't really strong but it stops the Chamomile taste which I don't really like. Another reason why I like these is because they are individually wrapped, so they're good to pop in your bag and go. I don't just use them for helping me sleep either. I find them good when you're feeling a little bit stressed out. They don't work if you're wide awake at 10pm and want to be asleep by 10.30pm but if you're feeling a little sleepy already and you drink one of these, then you'll definitely on track for a good nights sleep. Zzzz

Pretty Wrinkle Care Gel Eye Patches
So first of all... I didn't buy these for wrinkles! I just thought it'd help to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes and  it has helped a lot so far. You get 4 treatments in a pack and I've used two of the treatments so far. I got these ones from B&M for £1 but you can get them on Boohoo and on Amazon for £2 or £2.50 if you don't have a B&M near by. Like I've wrote earlier in this post, I usually don't sleep well. So I'm always walking around with dark, purple circles under my eyes.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Masque
I was only using my Loreal Elvive Fibrology Hair Masque but I fancied a change so I bought this when it was on offer for £2 in Boots! and it's been one of my fave products over the past month. You know them days when you can't really be bothered to straighten your hair after you've quickly blow dried it but you don't want to be walking around with your hair resembling a birds nest? then this is what you need in your life. It's usual price is £5.78 and I would still pay full price for this. I wouldn't say it makes my hair perfectly pin straight. But it feels so soft, is more manageable and looks loads more healthier.

MUA Lip Switch Matte Shine Duo in shade Persian Plum

I bought this at the end of last year/beginning of this year because I think because it was in the sale and the fact Purple is my fave colour. I ordered it online and when it arrived I tried it and thought it just wasn't me and I've just thrown it in my make up bag and kind of forgotten about it. But over the past few months I've been trying different make up looks out and being more daring with my lip colours (and eyeshadow colours) So I've been using this and it's the perfect autumn/winter shade. They don't sell this shade anymore in the switch duos. But I have found an £1 MUA lipstick that's really similar here

I started watching this at the beginning of October and I've got one more episode of season one left to watch. I'm still so far behind! It did take a few episodes to get into this and figure out who's who and etc. But I love TV shows/movies that are based on things which have really happened. I'd rather watch a TV series/movie than watch and listen to an historian talking about what happened on a documentary. I didn't learn about Poldark at school either so the series is interesting and educational at the same time to me.

Black Mirror

I only started watching this because it kept popping up on my twitter feed. Everyone seemed to be talking about the new season. I knew it was a dark kind of series and that it was an anthology series but I didn't know it was a different story each episode. I thought it was like American Horror Story and how each season is based on different things. But I've watched the first 4 episodes of Season 3 and I'm hooked completely. The first episode called Nosedive and the third episode called Shut Up And Dance are probably the best I've watched so far. Really recommend this series if you're looking for something new to binge watch this winter.

So there's my October Favourites! I can't believe we're already in November... and just less than 7 weeks until Christmas! What were your October Favourites?

Also just want to add that I'm sorry for the bad quality/lighting on the photos in this post. I thought I'd be able to get everything I wanted to get done and still have time to take the blog photos but the dark nights have truly set in and my room was basically like a cave at 4pm lol x

I just want to start this by saying sorry for not posting anything last week. I know I usually post on either a Tuesday/Wednesday and then on the weekend but if you've read my previous post, then you'll know I've been feeling really rubbish lately. I've lacked motivation for anything over the past few weeks if I'm being honest. I think it's because it's this time of the year when I do get quite down very easily and it kind of lingers.

Also I haven't wrote about this yet on my blog but another reason why I'm feeling low is because I quit my job in September. I'm not regretting it whatsoever. I was unhappy there, I was bored and I needed a lot more contracted hours a week too. But because it's been over a month now and I haven't really seen many jobs about in my area that are enough hours, suitable or I have experience for. It it has started to make me feel stressy. I know something will come along at some point but I'm living off savings which I started to save up once I began thinking about leaving my job.

I do know now after leaving that I'm in a better place mentally than I would've been if I stayed there, but obviously I feel as if I'm living on borrowed time because the money will run out at some point. And here I am writing about a retail therapy shopping trip in Chester... I know. But to be fair I can literally count on one hand the amount of times I've left the house over the past week because of the lack of motivation mood and just feeling low, meaning I hadn't really spent any money. So I thought why not? I'll treat myself to some new things and it might cheer me up... and it has. So here's what I picked up!

Make Up Bag
I've had my make up case for almost a year which was also from Primark but I felt like a change and it was getting a little tatty. But I'm going to put my nail polishes in there for now. The new make up bag is pretty. It's not something I'd usually go for but it's growing on me. It was only £4 and it fits all my usual daily make up in. It's like an Mary Poppins bag. It looks like it won't fit everything in but it does. Another good thing about the new case is it's a baby blue colour inside, so it'll be easier to find my make up than my old case which is black.

Rose Gold Eyelash Curlers and Tweezers
I'll admit I didn't need new eyelash curlers or tweezers but they're rose gold! I couldn't not buy them especially the fact that they were both only £1! I've used them both since taking the photos and they're both really good. Who needs expensive beauty tools when you have these bargains?

Cotton Wool Pads
Since I've started using Micellar Water again, I'm getting through so many cotton wool pads. So I thought I'd stock up because I think Primark are the cheapest place to buy them. The smaller pack was 50p and the bigger pack was 90p. (Whilst writing this I've realised I didn't pick up the 2 pack of face wipes for £1 which I usually buy when I shop in Primark. That's annoyed me! lol)

White Lily and Peony Candle Tin
I really wanted to get the pear and blue mint scented candle which I saw online because the tin was so pretty, but couldn't see it anywhere. So I got this one. Really nice scent, very fresh but delicate. Peony is one of my favourite scents too.

Banana Leaf and Mango Candle Tin
The pattern on the tin drew me to this one I'll admit. I thought it'd smell like a really sickly banana scent, like the medicine you have when you're a kid. But the scent happens to be really nice too. So it was a win/win. Think these would make cute little stocking fillers for Christmas. They're only £2 too!

Earrings - Pack of 9
I'm pretty sure it's an unwritten rule that when you visit a Primark, you have to buy their cheap earring packs. £2 for 9 pairs... don't mind if I do. I will say that in the Chester Primark there wasn't as much choice than there is in my local Primark in Hanley but these are still pretty. Love the dream catcher pair on the second row.
Front/Back Earrings
I saw these online before visiting and I first thought they were a pair of earrings you could wear either way. But that's not the case. The golden flower is the front and the round floral ball (which I like the most) is the back. Because they're quite heavy, they tip my ears up a little, so it looks a little strange. I have put them in my ears the other way around, so the side I prefer is at the front but they still don't look right. I don't know if it's because I usually wear small studs and me or my ears are used to something different. But they were only £1 in the sale.
Hair Bobbles (Not pictured)
Even though my hair has gone quite thin (for some reason) hair bobbles snap on me all the time. Especially when I'm wearing my hair in a messy bun. I've found that the Primark bobbles (the thinner ones) are the best for my hair right now, so I always pick some up when I visit. I think think theres either 50 or 100 pairs for £1.

Pink and Blue Check Pyjamas
I wanted the black and white check ones really but there was none in my size. But I do really like these. I always seem to go for check things this time of the year. I think it's because Christmas is on my mind. I will say that the sizing isn't the best for these, so either try them on before buying or go up a size. Best thing is their price... £4! They also have some fairisle printed ones for the same price, if you're wanting to buy yourself or someone else some Christmas pyjama bottoms.

2 Pack Gloves
It's definitely getting colder now. Some days it feels quite bitterly cold, some days aren't so bad. But I thought I'd buy some new gloves for bonfire night next week because I normally forget to take a pair with me. These were only £1.

Sakura Bath Bomb
I'm blaming my cousin for why I had to buy this when I've already got 4 or 5 bath bombs to be used. On my last Lush haul which you can read about here, my cousin bought some things too. When the delivery arrived I could smell one of the products and I thought it was my Northern Lights bath bomb because I knew it smelt floral but it was this one. The one I didn't buy lol. It smells really lovely, pretty much the same as the Rub Rub Rub shower scrub. I never really thought to buy this bath bomb because I knew it wasn't a colourful one but I already know I'll definitely be buying this again.

Snow Fairy 100g Shower Gel

I use the Snow Fairy shower gel as shampoo as well as the shower gel. I usually use it as a shampoo when I'm having a pamper. So I use it a lot quicker than other Lush shower gels I've got. This years batch isn't as powerful as last years which I'd prefer, because the bottles I bought last year were almost a little sickly. It's still got it lovely candyfloss scent which reminds me of going to the fairground when I was a kid.

Asda Printed Cold Shoulder Top
I didn't buy this whilst in Chester. I ordered it the night before. I almost got the top in the summer but because I've got a big collection of cold shoulder tops I thought I wouldn't buy it. But then when I gave in and went to buy it, it'd gone out of stock in my size. So when I was on their site on Wednesday evening, I was surprised to see it in stock again. And at a reduced price of £3. So I had to buy it. I plan on wearing it to a family party I'm going to at the end of November. Not sure on what else I'm going to wear it with yet though but I'll figure it out.

Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie Wax Melt
I thought I'd already bought this before but it must've been another scent because smells different than what I initially thought. But it definitely smells like you've been baking at home. Really lovely. New favourite Christmas scent from Yankee Candle. Going to be buying more of these.

I think I spent just over £30. So I think I've got quite a lot for my money here. I do feel better after treating myself to some new things. Retail therapy always works, right? Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Sorry for the huge intro but I thought I'd give you a little update on what's been going on lately. Keep a lookout for a new post later in the week. And as always thanks for reading! x
